Something worth noting, not a lot of people knew how to read and write. When the Assyrians, the Babylonians, or the Persians conquered a people, they may have enslaved the educated classes, possibly skilled craftsmen. That would be The Book of Daniel in the Bible. Prophet Ezekiel was in Babylon.
And unfortunately that is usually enough to eradicate a people when their educated classes are gone...
Persians did not practice slavery. Greeks and Semitic people did.
@@marmary5555 Sure they did. Pretty much every Kingdom practiced some kind of slavery. Whomever inherited the fertile crescent region, tended to do some specific cultural things......like taking educated people as slaves.

He didn’t perceive them as weak. They were weak. And that is to their credit, because weak people are good people who mind their own business and don't try to get themselves heard by others.
You're wrong. Weak people often get exploited and/or subjugated, while strong people remain indepedent and/or dominant. The Greeks of Central Asia were , by then at least, weakened and easy to subjugate ( of course for the Chinese thousands of killometers away it was pretty hard to conquer their town ) but the nomads from the steppe that eventually conquered them were the opposite of the Greeks. Heck, after their conquest, they even proceeded to establish an empire of their own, called by historians the Kushan Empire.

Alexander the Great is the new name for the world, from not too long ago. Alexander the Macedonian is how he is named. Especially at those times, you say your name and your father’s name and the place you come from to identify yourself. The newly added or changed into Great is on purpose, so the greeks can claim he is greek. He can not be greek if he is Macedonian. Read a little bit of books that are not promoted by greece and the creator of greece - United Kingdom. The name Makedon exists way before greece. Check old Roman maps too. Ohhh people, those people in Afghanistan will tell you they are related to the Alexander army, not that they are greek. The name greece exists only 180 years.
The word Greece isn’t even from Greek origin you Buffon , it’s Latin and it comes from Grecians. We never called our self’s “ Greeks “ , we call ourselves “Hellenes / Έλληνες “ and Greece is called by its official name “ Hellenic Republic “. Just because the word Greece is from a Latin origin doesn’t mean we didn’t exist.
I am from Afghanistan and nobody there claims to be related to Alexander.
