i did some research and the results are very different , now i stumbled on this video and it is related to my question and i hope you answer . the problem i have is that i have an inkjet printer , an epson l3110 which can be converted to be used for sublimation , which is why i bought it in the first place , however i am currently doing heat transfers with normal heat transfer paper on light and dark garments with normal ink , and soon the tanks will be empty and i can convert it to sublimation , the question i have is , is it okay to use sublimation ink on transfer paper , i know this video shows that you do , but i have found a lot of answers online , some say it can be used and some say it can't due to the sublimation ink getting washed off of the garments , does the ink stick on the print and are the transfers good and it is just a less vibrant color issue , or does the ink actually wash off like i read ? i hope you can answer my question since this video is a year old and you probably put that shirt on a few washes now thank you
Hello I run a small T-shirt business and have used sublimation ink on dark transfer paper so I believe I can help with this. Don’t use sublimation ink on dark transfer paper, the image will fade after being washed. If you have black in the image or throughout the image the blacks will turn to a brown color and it will not look right. Instead use pigment ink which was meant for dark transfer paper and the image will not fade in the wash. Sublimation ink is best used with sublimation paper and light garments. Hopefully that helped :)
@@nugotmoves2602 thank you, i appreciate your response, and it does help, i asked the question because i don't have monzy to buy a new printer for pigment ink,and am using my sublimation printer (loaded with pigment ink) for transfers, i wanted to know once the ink is over i can switch to sublimation ink and continue to do transfers with it, but now i know i can't thanks to you sir, very well appreciated, thank you
inkjetcarts and cobraink are gone. the supposed rebranding is now walaink for cobra. a lot of people stood by cobra, however, I don't think it was a globally accepted solution for "the best money can buy".. which pigment ink (for epson wf-7610 on a CISS) would you suggest as the best for t-shirt heat transfer? also i'm not a fan of 3G Jet Opaque anymore (thermal tape is a no-no for this brand).. I need my thermal tape usability, which dark transfer do you recommend? I think JPSS is ok for lights still, unless you know of a better for lights too? :3
I don't think they're gonna reply. I've never done heat transfers, but in terms of premium pigment ink close to oem colors you have several options. The brands I'm aware of are *Precision Colors* , *Ink Owl* , and *BCH Technologies* . *Precision Colors* seems to be the recommended brand If you want accurate colors and it's supposedly fade resistant like the durabrite ultra ink.

NOpe. there's a reason why it's called sublimation paper.
