I'll never forget the day I bought a copy of this version with all the tracks already unlocked. I had previously rented the original 1997 game not knowing there was an updated version. I was pretty surprised yet satisfied that all the tracks were already unlocked here.
I hated only racing against 3 competitors though
@@skurinski I also miss how the racers would crash like in the first game. Those wreck cutscenes were hilarious.
I had the original game as a kid, then tried to buy it years later, and I got the championship edition. Man the original version is hard to come by. Yeah, all the tracks are unlocked, including the jet moto 1 ones and the cheat codes but it's so easy compared to the original that there is practically no reason to play it. The reason for 3 competitors is that it makes the game run smoother because there are less polygons.
@@NoName-md6fd it's not because there are less polygons but because it doesnt have to deal with the logic for keeping track of all the racers on the track. whenever there are a lot of racers on screen on the original they are already turned into 2D sprites right when each races starts, only a few stay as 3D models when you get close
Why we haven't seen any Jet Moto game released after all these years is a MAJOR oversight! We could be rocking this!

This was the version I had and I never knew it was a special edition. I just assumed every jet Moto 2 had you unlock the original tracks.
In this one, all of the tracks from the first game were immediately unlocked.
Didn’t have this edition myself but I always used the cheat code to unlock them lol
Jet Moto 2 was absolutely amazing experience to play. I didn’t have the first one, but I had the demo and I played the hell outta that. This one was just cleaner, and and they improved on every aspect from the first one.
ill never forget the day i first played this game ironically i was born when this game came out xD lmao and didnt play it till 2001 i fell in love with it the game was hard as shit but as a little kid it doesnt matter you play it to have fun and i think this was my first ever ps1 game i played if memory serves
I never once played Jet Moto and or Jet Moto 2 because those two were some of the best PlayStation 1 games ever in the world.
I played this when I was 16... im 42 now and I still love this game.. I used to spend my weekends in my room with the 311 album "Transistor" playing while i was free roaming the maps from this game for hooouurs.. I would literally spend all day on 1 map just riding around hitting ramps.. This was my favorite game as a kid..until I discovered Gran Turismo 2 and Twisted Metal...For some reason the Transistor album went with this game so good... If youve heard the transister album, youd know why. Good times!
I was weird with these ps1 games. Jet moto2 was my favorite even tho 3 was out. Same with coolboaders 2. Thanks for the nostalgia
I'm wondering if this is why I feel like it's moving way too fast. Because of the increased frame rate? I don't know, i guess i like the way it was originally.
It's because most of the racer opponents were removed, making the framerate become higher, as there's less strain on the PS1 hardware.
I can't believe when Jet Moto 2 is on the Championship Edition in this game from 1997! This is gonna be great

Oh my god it messes with my brain to see this game running so smoothly, but 4 racers is just too damn few. That's like 1/5 as many as JM1.

the championship edition just runs faster because they reduced the number of racers in each level down to 4 from the original version
I just tested the game on my actual PS1 and it really goes this fast normally
