Well done you! A general rule of thumb with spuds is to wait until the foliage dies right back, then allow another ten days before harvesting, you'll then maximise your return. Great results for pot grown earlies!
Wow, this is so helpful! That must explain why I had handful of little ones, I have some Sarpo Mira potatoes that will be ready soon that I can try this on! Thank you! 🥔🌱
@@thetinygarden_ All the really small ones that you harvest taste pretty good in a white gravy and makes a good side dish to go along with the meal. The skins on the potato will harden up, after the 10 days the gentleman mentioned above, under the ground making for longer storage.
You smile on your speeks volumes you carnt beat the taste of home grown tatties way far superior to shop bought. Just a tip to help with water retention use a mulch around the stems grass cuttings anything you can get to use same with any veg if you mulch it realy helps to keep the moisture from evaporating all the best and love your vids and your such a happy go lucky person thanknyou for sharing.😊
Thank you John, that is so nice of you to say 🤗 I cannot wait to plant this years potato crop, I have British queens (which are divine!!) and sarpo mira because I saved my own seed! Definitely need to be mulching! So glad you enjoy the videos 🙌

It has to be the best feeling in the world to harvest one’s own food. I can’t wait to do my own potatoes Laura. It they were sown a bit later than yours. I do mine in pots because I tend to stab them 🤦🏼♀️ with a fork if I’m digging. Have a fantastic week, Ali 🥵🌞🇨🇦
Thanks Ali! I was so chuffed and I am even more excited now to see the main crop 🤞 I hope they are bigger and there is more! That's the worst isn't it, I imagine many, many a potato was sacrificed to the fork! 😅😬
Just found your channel it’s great, potato reveal are my favourite thing, it’s so exciting you don’t know what your going to get. Good luck with your new channel
Hey Laura, after watching your potato reveal I couldn’t resist pulling a few volunteer potatoes in my plot to get a nice early harvest. I have sooo many I’ve planted so was willing to give em a pull. Will eat for dinner. Some people on our plot said their potatoes in buckets have been plagued with ants and lost the crop. Didn’t know they could do that. Better check my buckets at home. Great video😊 happy growing
Hey Allie, I was only reading about ants the other day! I have tonnes of them and was slightly worried... supposedly they can burow big holes in your soil and then your plants die! Hope you enjoyed your volunteer potatoes!! 🥔🌱🤩
Omgosh! 🎉 L❤VE potato reveals! New sub here. 🥰🌱 This is my first year trying Sarpo Mira, but I still need to actually pot them up. It will just be a later harvest as we still have cool nights. What a wonderful harvest!
I think my first batch of Sarpo Mira are nearly ready to harvest! I hope they're okay I have some markings that have cropped up on a few of the leaves! 🤞 Fingers crossed this variety grow well for you! 😊💖

Hi Laura, I so agree with you about the little baby potatoes. I’m looking forward to some of them in my next harvest.
Hey 👋 oh lovely I hope you get a fab harvest 🤞🌱
Nice harvest Laura. I wait until the plants start to die back and finish flowering for bigger spuds.
Thank you! I am definitely going to do that with the main crops and they actually have got some big beautiful flowers at the minute!!
