I'm 82 years old, my dad was a sawmill man, got his 1st mill when I was about 4 years old when I was 14 off bearing was my job .I never saw a mill like this one. Would love to see more
Thanks for stoping by, and nice to hear about your dad. He bought it to restore a house my father had. It was really handy for sawing the timber. The engine is an old Diesel volvo scania 6 cylinder. We bought the whole sawmill from a small village nearby. The bench is fed by the drivechaft from the engine. I miss using it. But we might do some more sawing And Ill upload more videos. Thanks for watching. Take Care Jack.
I´m having a hard time understanding why people like you would ever comment stuff like that.. I mean this was our first attempt trying this mill, we set up our self, had my 85 year old gradfather helping us, completley just for our own making planks and board for my fathers house.... You know what, WHAT EVER.. Man,
Interesting, I could tell you were new, ignore the ignorant people, that's the world we have today, you will learn and be fine, enjoyed your video, stay focused and good luck
great looking sawmill we have a belsaw it works great I wish we had one like yours we cut timber with our family its really just so we can hang out together
Interesting mill....I'd like to see more videos of this mill with such an unusual design. Is the log carriage powered? What is the hp of the power unit for the mill ? There are very few things much more fun than sawing lumber when its not a job !!! ...and pay no attention to the 'arm-chair quarterbacks' that have never even been near a mill but seem to know everything you're doing wrong.... Keep up the good work and its good to see your 85 year old grandpa still out there 'gettin it' !!!
+Tractorman44 Hello Sorry for the late respond. I´d say its about 80 hp. See the other clip Vbeck Lumber saw2This link might help th-cam.com/video/zoFaooCcXE4/w-d-xo.html
this might be the first time using the mill, it was recorded for fun. it was not intended to be viewed in a big way like it became to be. We have managed to saw a tons of timber building forexample big garage. thanks for watching, if you ever get to be around one or try one out yourself, especially old one like this .make suredoing that. my grandfather was a woodsman and born 1924. take care please watch the other video using the mill for good angle hehe
I am very happy to see that mill in production.People today don't appreciate iron and sweat like this mill anymore. I wish I had it sitting on my property to use .Great video!Keep on milling.
A little more hearing protection to go 'round and a cant hook or two with maybe a peeve handle and Bob's your uncle! First I have seen with the blade set up that way. Nice operation. Just think of all the money you are saving on gym memberships for the family.
Don't see that too often, your grandfather was hacking and hacking when you just tap it twice from the bottom and boom! You showed the old timer how it's done.
