I dont like the pooling of ink that the zig dots have. That extra dot in the center bothers me! Although I do love the feel of a juicy pen. Aesthetically, I think prefer the knock off. Anyone else notice this?
Oh interesting!!! That is definitely a reason to get the knock off. They’re not as juicy so they don’t do that dot. That hasn’t really bothered me personally!
I have the Artist's Loft dot markers and my purple does the same thing with the blue dot. They work okay. I took them on a holiday trip b/c I wouldn't mind if they got lost, but I also ordered a set of dot markers from Ohuhu (metallic) that give me more of what I want. Will probably get a few open stoke Kuretakes in certain colors. I do have a few Clickart markers and plan on getting more.
I love the Zig as well, but I decided to also tried the Ohuhu version, and I actually really like them! They come with some metallics in the pack as well. Have you tried the Tombow dot markers? They don’t have the sponge tip, but I love the ink colors so much. And they have the firm plastic tip in the other side like the zig dot. ❤
@@EnsignInsights when bought them last summer, they were only 12 bucks on Amazon, but now I cant find them for less than double that, of course, now that I love them and want to gift them to my artsy niece lol but I think you'd love them since they seem to be the tertiary rainbow- color pallet you like :)
I think Artist's Loft can be pretty hit or miss. I think their watercolor paints are pretty great. I think the cost of their markers, though, are often so close to the name brands it's like, why bother? I can't buy a single AL dual brush pen if one dies, but I can buy single Tombows all day long. I haven't tried their alcohol markers, which is all my local store carries in singles (and permanent markers). Thanks for sharing!
From this side, they look identical, but I know what it’s like to have that favorite (touch, look, etc). I do have Zebra ClickArt, as well. I really like them. It was hard to tell if the knockoff was identical. It seemed a bit more firm, but I couldn’t tell for sure. ClickArts also have a ‘plug’ in them. I’m not sure if it is important, so I always keep them in there.
I finally got the Artist’s Loft ones. Mine are terrible. They have hardly any pigmentation, but still bleed through terribly. So, at least my set, was a FAIL!! Yours look a lot better than mine. Mine are probably the worst set I’ve ever bought (aside from both types of Sharpie brush pens; not Staind).
I’m not sure! Some people might like them. I think they’re a brand that’s only on Amazon which I’m normally weary about. If you do try them you’ll have to let me know!
Hahaha! That would actually make more sense if it was just Medford… but I bought them here in Utah… that makes me wonder how many Michael’s shoppers are getting blue instead of purple 😬

Yes! Really dislike that. The AL seem to pool less & softer colours look great on tomoe river paper. Love that.
The Artists Loft markers work well for me. And all the colors csme out beautifully. There were no issues.
Great and honest review as always. Also missed you and glad to see you back :)
Aww thank you!! I’m glad to be back!

Thank you!! I’m glad to be back!
I have "Brea Reese" brand dot markers. I like them but I've never had any othet dot markers so I have nothing to compare them to!
How are you dear? It’s been a while. These look alike. Your handwriting is pretty 😍
It has been a while! I’m glad to be back!
I got your book and i loveee it. I dont know how to hold the pens so my hand doesn’t hurt. Not i have a better understanding.
Oh that makes me so happy!! I’m so glad! Thanks for sharing!

I hadn’t heard of the Tombow dot markers! I just looked them up and it looks really interesting with that flat circle side!

I agree with you! Artist loft is hit or miss and often not saving that much money🤷♀️

Ooh interesting! Thanks for sharing your experience with the clickart pens. I think I may need to try them. I have REALLY enjoyed not having lids!

Seriously?? That’s crazy!! I can’t believe they’re getting worse!
Have you tried brand shuttle art? Amazon has them on sale for $11.99 with a quantity of 18.
For dot markers?? Have you tried them? Are they any good?
@@EnsignInsights no dear I haven’t, that’s why I asked lol.
Is shuttle brand any good?

I have the Ohuhu dot pens and they're really nice. Some of them are metallic. I haven't tried the Zig though
Me: runs to check my purple AL dot marker…
Mine does it too! Must just be how it’s made. I can’t unsee it now 🤦🏻♀️😂
Gonna have to get some zigs
No way!! So mine wasn’t defective??? Your fine tip is purple and dot tip is blue??
@@EnsignInsights yes it is! I took a picture but I don’t think TH-cam let’s you post them haha but yep, same colors as yours!
@@EnsignInsights did you buy yours when you were still in Oregon? I live in Southern Oregon and I wonder if Michael’s got a bad batch 😂
Hahaha! That would actually make more sense if it was just Medford… but I bought them here in Utah… that makes me wonder how many Michael’s shoppers are getting blue instead of purple 😬
I'm in Ontario, Canada and I had the same thing with my purple! I thought the ink hadn't started flowing at first.
Sort of like name brand and generic food.
You can tell a difference!
