I met a Taxi Driver in Stuttgart who picked Elisabeth Taylor up at the Stuttgart Airport. She was with a woman friend.
She was very pleasant and she talked to the driver. He saw all of her films and asked her questions about them and she explained everything.
It took a half hour to get to get to the destination. She gave him the biggest tip he had ever gotten.

I’ve heard the same thing about Elizabeth Taylor. No offense to Debbie Reynold’s but I don’t believe that the affair was intentional. It was born out of bereavement. It doesn’t make it right but it’s human.

@joannakuyt1512 Horse manure. Mickey Rooney's pregnant wife caught Taylor in the middle of an "intimate act" with her husband. Taylor was 14. Burton was married too, when they "met"; she was married to Fisher. Fisher stopped going to their movie set because their flirting was humiliating. She understood her studio couldn't stop the truth coming out from fans, that's all.

Taylor wasn't a straight woman just like many of actresses.
Just like Monroe she used her looks to get the spot light but she was not a straight woman.
She was married many times, becuase she had metal issues, she was into women and wanted to be more like a man.
She was nothing but an act.

That is a vast generalization. Jean Harlow for instance was known for being down to earth and always kind to fans. She didn't take herself too seriously and refused to play up her glamour image off screen, walking around in tennis shoes, slacks, and polo shirts. There are others that were the same way. Marilyn Monroe was also known for giving fans her time, even inviting a few to events. She didn't act like she was above them.

It WAS NOT Fondas opposition of the war that made her unpopular or controversial. When a prisoner of the viet Cong snuck a note to her, she turned it over to her vietnamese "guide", showing which side she was on. Allowing herself to be photographed manning and pointing viet cong guns ( presumably at US soldiers) her craven cowardly and traitorous actions were all calculated attempts for this B movie actress to gain publicity at the expenses of the soldiers, bleeding in the jungles as and eating agent orange for breakfast, and will NEVER be forgotten. Neither Jane nor her disgusting pedo brother PETER had enough talent to get cast as extras in any film without the name Fonda to open the door. At least Henry could act and knew better than to try to use his fame to lecture his audience or pretend he knew something about foreign policy or cared about the "little people". who would never have gotten a role as an extra had it n b guns Cong soldier who snuck her a note

After all, if her product wasn't " up to scratch ", it would be HER who carried the can, not the supporting crew and ensemble.

It's one thing to be an Anti-war advocate. And quite frankly, THAT war was one America never should have been involved in. However, that doesn't change the fact that Jane Fonda's actions of going over there as a guest of the Enemy was at best Ignorant. At worst, Disrespectful to the soldiers who were being brutally tortured by the very same hosts whom she was happy to entertain and chat up. Soldiers who had no choice in the matter. Soldiers, many of whom were drafted into military service.
Far from a choice when your only options are serve, or be sent to prison for many long years. Her actions were not a form of social justice. Many well-known individuals at the time advocated against the war. They did so in a dignified manner that didn't involve making a spectacle of themselves.

Christina always came off as an opportunist. She failed at an acting career of her own. And during the short time she was in acting she was known as being very difficult to work with. So when the opportunity for the book came around and a big payday, Christina jumped at the chance. 1: I never thought Joan Crawford was the least bit attractive…just my opinion.still attacking someone when they have passed is just wrong
2: Faye Dunaway seems to be and has been a very nasty piece of work
3: Greta Gabo was a solitary person who just wanted to act and nothing else
4: Lucy was a boss babe, something modern women aspire to bring
5 Tallulah once rattled the perfectionist Lucille Ball to the point where Lucy forgot her lines..not evil just a rebel
6: Marlene Dietrich: she stood up to Hitler, definitely not evil.
7: Kate Hepburn didn’t suffer fools lightly, I wouldn’t have lasted a minute around her, but not evil
8: Jane Fonda made a stupid goddamn mistake, people change she’s much more conservationist these days, not evil
9: Liz screwed over a friend but it takes two to tango, I blame Fisher as much as Liz, it was complicated but not evil
10: Bette Davis, another “boss babe” but evil? That’s going a bit far. I mean she didn’t kill anyone….that I’m aware of

Joan was very attractive when she was a younger actress then through the years her look became more and more severe. As far as the adopted daughter though, she has profitted richly off of her, using her name to sell books and go on talk shows. The reality of her situation with her adopted mother is much more nuanced and complicated. Her famous tell all book was actually written by a ghostwriter who put in all the salacious parts so it would sell and people of course believed all of it. JC's name was mud and she wasn't around to defend herslf anymore. Christina Crawford is not a great person.

Fonda, makes the top of this list, while soldiers were languishing, being tortured in NVA prisons, she was giggling and laughing on a anti-aircraft gun. It took her a long time for a half hearted appology.

FAYE DUNNAWAY had her grand Hollywood Waterloo at the Oscar's when she stumbled and wavered and grabbed the envelope for Best Movie and announced the wrong movie embarrasing the actors and everyone involved with "La La Land" who rushed on stage and began accepting their Oscar Statues and then were horrified to find that they were not the winners. Never in Hollywood's history had anyone had ti give back the coveted statue---live on stage and TV. Faye haa not been seen or heard from since... karma, dude.

I guess it bothers many that women in the industry can be just as nice or just as mean as anyone else and of course when women are that’s a major ‘crime’. People like the characters played. And I’m sure they can be just as surly as the people criticizing them for being what’s called HUMAN, not the sweet and adorable stereotype demanded.

@@brunoasmr3375 I agree. But being awful isn’t worse because it’s a woman and sadly, still, in this society women are always supposed to be nice and adorable. Actresses are entitled to be just as nasty as actors. Doesn’t make them evil! This is about gender only! Wake up to it!

I'm surprised there are people who dont think Jane Fonda was great. I thought I was the only one. She is painted as a Saint. Why did Obama give her a medal? It seemed like he didn't know about what had happened.Ann-Margret, Chris Noel and Nancy Sinatra deserved to be honored for all the great things they have done and how they love the Vietnam Vets.

Nearly everything Christina Crawford has claimed about Joan Crawford has been refuted. Her other adopted children said none of it happened. Many others confirmed it also. Her fellow actors have confirmed that she was nice and a consummate professional on the sets also. Christina Crawford was just being ungrateful and vicious and trying to sell books.

I feel like Prince Harry’s kids will come out against their mother as adults like the Joan Crawford situation. The difference is Harry’s wife isn’t popular or Hollywood royalty at all. But she marries someone famous and that’s why she was put into the spotlight. I just don’t think she is motherly at all and Joan Crawford situation reminds me of her so much

Lucy ball thought she was a queen and regular people should treat her as royalty. I grew up watching her rtv show. A neighbor of ours became a flight attendant. On one flight she saw lucy flying first class with another woman, obviously her assistant. The flight attendant was young, and like me, had grown up watching lucy on tv. As the passengers were filling the cabin, the flight attendant went up to lucy and said.......Oh, Miss Ball i just wanted to thank you for the joy u gave me when i watched your show!!....... She was met with the followig remark from lucys assisstant......Miss ball never talks to servants.....please address any remarks to me, in the future.....!!!!
