21:00 Paladin should have received 3xp. 1xp for killing the model plus the 2xp granted to the party.
36:15 Roaming Monsters only perform their conditional attacks once, unless none of the conditions apply which causes then to activate like mobs.
I love how each class truly feels different in this iteration of the game. My favorite from the core box so far is the rogue. Pulling those extra action tokens when combating a Roaming Monster feels soooo good.

Thanks for catching the mistakes it’s hard to manage everything while narrating will get the pinned comment updated. The Rogue is very cool!

Just the-read the rules and apparently mobs do attack twice, once with each action. Roaming monsters however only perform actions on their cards once, unless none of the conditions apply. When this happens they activate just like mobs, gaining 2 actions with a possible attack during each.

Thank you for the tutorial video - I've been using it alongside the rulebook in anticipation of playing this tonight.

A correction thanks to viewer Imntl819 I treat the room as 4 connected space at 12:50 s which is in correct due to walls being there. It's something I missed as I forgot that the tutorial placed walls there to limit the amount of space on the map and make the game progress fast. The Rulebook does state that you can’t attack diagonally on page 19 and the scenarios do limit the situations where it would be possible to have diagonal line of sight without a wall or pillar obstructing your view. Our recommandation is to play however you feel makes the most sense when it comes to the few wide open spaces in the game.

I don't think the ranger could have attacked diagonally. You were just showing us what an attack from a Shadow Zone would look like right?

As I stated in a previous comment in terms the map it would not have been possible because I forgot about the walls. The extra since space is dead due to it being the tutorial so it's unused and I made that mistake. The rulebook is not clear enough IMO with regards to line of sight in combat especially as most games allow 360 degree line of sight and it has no examples of combat in a large room or more open spaces. It's clear that if there are walls or pillars they disrupt line of sight meaning your would not have it on tile 1A from the Shadow Zone to the space with the door. It has no specific rules stating that can't attack diagonally. The wording states an uninterrupted straight line but is that a Straight line from your Hero in 360 or only Orthogonally. As the former is most common in dungeon crawl games it's something they should have clarified. As it's a coop play it however you feel makes sense to you. There are very few wide open situations so it shouldn't come up often. Personally I feel it would be incredibly odd that I can't see something in an open room that is diagonally from me.

@@DiceandDragons As a zombicide player, it also doesn't make sense that I can't see diagonally in an open space in a room. On page 19 of hellscape rulebook, it says, "Like movement, attacks are orthogonal. Heroes and Enemies can never attack diagonally." I'm trying to learn all the rules before getting the box and teaching my group how to play.

I will look again i was focusing on the line of sight rules. Which make complete sense to me. The game does seem to make an effort to ensure there are little to no wide open rooms. I can’t see myself limiting attacks to being orthogonal in a wide open room. Thanks for the catch I must have missed it since it just doesn’t make any sense to me as a dungeon crawl player. Will update the pinned comment.

@@DiceandDragons I hope you took no offense in me pointing it out. I'm trying to learn the rules myself. I'm planning to get the box but in my region it's not available until next month.

None whatsoever. We are always learning new games and playing all sorts of games so it’s only natural they some rules blur together. There really should be a visual example in the rule book to clarify. When we had questions about diagonal attacks we referred to line of sight because that’s how most games reference the subject. Corrections are always appreciated.

At 15:00 you talk about being able to attack diagonally, which you can't as stated in the rules, plus you mention you are in a big open space which you aren't as there as clarly walls between the enemy mobs and you so you cannot attack. (Page 19 of the rulebook)
Plus it would have been impossible for you to move right (at 12:50) because of said walls in the first place.

After double checking the map you are correct the current situation wasn't possible due to the wall. I will pin a comment to the video. That's one complaint we do have with the game is how the walls appear when put together with our boards. As the second space has no door in it and is essentially a dead zone which is what got me confused. The rulebook is not specific at least IMO in terms of how it explains line of sight for combat. It states as long as you can draw a straight line without hitting a wall or a pillar. Does this mean specifically Orthogonally or just that you can't cut corners with your attack if there is a wall present such as on tile two from the pillar space to the light zone. Or a straight line unimpeded from your space as in most games in 360 degrees. As there is no example of combat in a large room in the rulebook this is something they should clarify in an FAQ especially as most similar games allow 360 degree line of sight. It seems incredibly odd that without some type of obstruction you can't see what's diagonal from you.

I have amended the pinned comment. The Rulebook is very unclear in terms of line of sight in open areas. The game does attempt to limit situation a where you would be in a large open space without a wall or pillar making a diagonal attack possible. Which would follow the rules as presented in the section. They could have done a much better job explaining it in the LOS section with some visual references as well. It doesn’t make any sense to me personally that without a pillar or wall blocking LOS that you can’t attack diagonally.

You can keep spending mana to use multiple pieces of the wizard amulet. In your example you could have spent one mana on the first effect, rotating the amulet, and then spent one mana on the second effect, rotating the amulet again, for the one attack.

Thanks for the clarifications that wasn't clear in the rulebook or with how it's written on the amulet as well.
