No INTP female would ever agree with this video. I think they have researched mbti enough to understand that hobbies, interests and hygiene have barely anything to do with your functions. We do have superiority complex but it's about our competency and not our taste. Infact most intp have a varied range of interests and are open to learn and discuss most things.

I am an INTP female and it was pretty accurate for me. I just depends on how much you are on the introvert spectrum (%). Because each of us are more or less introvert and the rest of our chart differs too. I’m 86% introvert. You’re probably closer to the extrovert side. So, don’t be a disappointing , judgmental INTP and dig deeper on the subject

"The most rare personality type." This is so wrong for so many reasons. Also, I am actually very interested about my physique. I may not be so worried about doing makeup or nails, but I'm very well kept and would also like to physically look like the best version of myself I see in my head, so there is that! I like when people look at me for the seek of me being both intelligent AND pretty.

It's possible to have traits from other personality types here and there in one's life. Knowing these personality traits helps me understand different types of people see things differently. Let's say if I were to have a partner or child who is an INTP, I now know that they may have a higher tolerance when it comes to a messy room, which is different from being lazy.

@@ravenm6443 And that's exactly why this video is wrong. They used MBTI to form a box of how you should act in life instead of how you process information and go about problems.

      @thatguybutitsactuallyagirl5384 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

@@llgla It's possible that those traits are simply one of the multiple traits of the INTP personality type and not estranged to INTPs, as INTPs possess 4 functions just like all the other types do. Gatekeeping is not vey MBTI! INTPs don't have a "higher tolerance" to messy room; this is the wrong way to see it. What INTPs have is a lack of being grounded into reality to see the messy room in the first place and therefore if you can't see the messy room, it's simply nonexistent which makes having any form of emotion towards the messy room impossible; including having a high or low tolerance for that messy room.

I am an INTP female who
    - Wants to look pretty (but I would be focused on so many other things that I would forget about tidying up; I literally want to look like an anime girl gosh dang it)
    - I do struggle being organized and keeping my family house clean (but that doesn't mean I am careless)
    - We're definitely NOT useless in social relations (I get along well with those that have similar mindsets to mine, and I intend to work professionally well with others in work environments, nonetheless, I prefer to spend time alone and only communicate with others when it's necessary. )
    - It's true that lovey-dovey stuff doesn't get to me, but I do appreciate it if it's from genuine affection ( However, I feel most loved when I am understood and when someone likes to engage in the same interests as mine; overall if we plan a future together and reach goals together)
    - I don't think much about starting a family but when it's mentioned, it bumps me out (but I try not to talk fast because who knows when I might have one, but for now I just don't want any of that; besides i already have a hard time time talking with people, especially with boys in a deeper level)
So everything that is said is not completely 100% incorrect, but no doubt there are things that I don't seem to relate strongly

"i'M nOt LiKe OtHeR GiRLs!!" I hate this stereotype that INTP women are above "normal women" who only care about shallow things like appearances and celebrity gossip and whose sole purpose in life is to become housewife aka maid. Because INTP women are intelligent and like to think about meaningful things and therefore they're not like most women at all - they're like men, who are the voice of logic and reason. This mindset is sexist or when coming from women it's internalized misogyny.
Listen, I'm an INTP woman. I use a lot of time for my beauty routine, I love nail art and cute cupcakes and I've always related to other women just fine. I also enjoy science, linguistics, history, writing and many other things. None of my female friends are INTP and they are all very intelligent and knowledgeable - like a lot of women are.
I'm sure there are a lot of INTP women who relate to the points in the video: women who don't care about those "silly female things" society tries to condition women to like. Because guess what, there are a lot of women in all personality types who don't care for appearances, celebrities or whatnot, and yes, some have a hard time relating to others.
Most women are intelligent, complex, worthy beings just like men - not some ditzy bimbos.

In MBTI, there's such a thing as being an "unhealthy" or "healthy" type. Being unhealthy generally means that we don't express our cognitive functions appropriately, especially our tertiary and inferior functions. We may neglect them.
What you are describing for the most part here, is an unhealthy INTP.
Meaning, either an immature INTP (nothing to do with age but more like emotional development for ex) who hasn't started the process of developing their tertiary and inferior functions to their better potential.
Or an INTP who is confronted to an environment, mental or external, not conducive for such potential expansion and who adopts suboptimal coping mechanisms.
Women who relate 100% to the video, especially to what is considered in our society the less flattering parts (for ex independence bordering on isolation, no interest in outwards appearance, not being housewife material... ) : be attentive to all your functions and look for a way to develop their potential, you'll see a difference without being another self.
It'll be your self but optimised 😁. Yes, we can be super interested and focused on the why's of how's of the universe AND have a clean & neat study room 😄😄. That's our power !

Everything is true here for the most part, however in terms of family, I think it’s a little harsh. I think we are so into what we are doing it seems scary to have a family. My first (unplanned) pregnancy ended in miscarriage and it was absolutely devastating. We were able to go on and have a second pregnancy to term and I couldn’t imagine my life without my son. I get to teach him all the things I didn’t know and give him all the hugs I never had. We have a pretty special bond.

I'm an INTP female myself. While I could rarely love, tolerate or relate to any of the small talk or other stereotypes and girl group conversations (edit: only when it's toxic and I hope I would find my tribe in the future but I'll not wait for it to have fun ) , I care about my looks because I know how the world works, moreover, I love looking pretty. I also love and embrace my femininity because I love who I am, the female in me.
Also, I'd love to express that I'm just like any other girl but unique like every other human beings.. special like everyone else.
I love organising things because I know the value of it, and what it does to me ( I grew up in a chaotic environment, and learned to keep my room, my shrine.) it makes me feel collected. I've never fit in anywhere, I tried and it's a waste of my time and energy, it's not me being me when I'm trying so hard to accomodate people who doesn't deserve it.
I don't plan on having a baby, because there are enough human beings in earth, in my country, it's increasing, plus it's not my priority. I have to take good care of myself and a baby may get in the way. This doesn't mean that I hate children, I really don't mind them. I love deep things and over analysis. I'm in my head a lot. I fucking love my alone time. I can't tolerate a lot of people and people may not tolerate me. I tried and failed, i really don't plan on wasting my time on that any more. To be honest, I really don't like people, but I don't hate them. I know there are good people. I've met them.
Here in my country, it's hard to find another girl or person who can relate to you, (my INFJ sister is someone who could, and that's enough) and to be honest, a lot of them (not all of them) are goddam shallow. It's true, after trying to accomodate a lot, you'll come to that conclusion in the end. I can pretty much live peacefully in my own company, I've realised that I'm at my best like that, that's good and healthy for me. Also, nobody may know me better than I do. I know myself too much, and it's never too much for me.
I'm not that bad at social skills. I'll call them tools, because I was forced to develop and hone it due to the pressure around me (most around me where "social" people) , it didn't come naturally to me. Not really. But I don't really like using them so much, because I don't see any point in indulging in things I don't really like.
I'm smart and I know it. I've had my share of self doubts but ultimately, after all the experiments and results, I've decided to come to a conclusion that I am. Sure, I could be dumb at times (because I'm human) but I'm hella sure. I do respect and love other people. But I've come to hate (can't help it) the shallowness in most things. So I'm just gonna continue doing ma thing.
I'm not perfect. Nobody is. But I'm not bad. I'm always the better version of myself. Everytime I stumble, i learn a new lesson. I hope many intp females embrace who they are and realise who they are. People can be hard (especially if you're living in a society like mine) but trust yourself and trust others when you need it. Learn when you realise that maybe it's good for your mental health to take better measures when you meet people whom you can't handle.
You can't avoid people, but you can ignore them. (Because gotta give everyone what they deserve, good or bad.)
Edit: I've gotten better. I've learned to be kinder, forgiving, giving and above everything else, care less... about so many things that are simply not worth your time and energy.
life sucks, but let's have fun..

I am an INTP woman and I'm a very loving mother of 4. However, it is true I have male friends as apposed to female friends and it is because I find most woman to be "catie" and superficial. Which runs into an additional problem is that most men will be friends because they feel that my friendship with them is based on an unspoken attraction which shows up as the friendship progresses. Makes this difficult for me to form friendships. I like looking nice everyday and wear make up. I am not fond of housework as most people are not. I am not into love songs, flowers and chocolate. I do like beautiful surroundings and will make my home, especially my bedroom, a beautiful, comfortable place to relax in. As for myself this look into the INTP personality was close to half right.

I found this really interesting. As a guy, most of my friends are girls and they're the ones who I can open up to for deep, mentally stimulating discussions. Most of them are ISTPs and INTPs. My best friend is a guy, but most of my other good friends are girls. I have also thought the converse of your point of view before ("(wo)men don't take anything seriously and lack awareness of whether saying something for the sake of joke might hurt someone I especially dislike over confident males"). I suppose society makes us all cynical to an extent. There are always good people out there, but they never seem to disclose themselves to our detection. And maybe this reinforces confirmation bias to an extent. I also think that it's really better to say "some" to avoid generalization (instead of "women ...", "some women.."). There are always outliers and conditioning ourselves to be specific seems to characterize the INTP.

And if when you start researching about fashion and make-up - there are certainly more resources nowadays - you start taking an interest in them too. Working in an office and with a team can be challenging - but you can learn strategies for planning ahead and keeping things interesting - coaching helped me.

It’s the main reason I clicked, because I was like, “no we’re not” and there’s nothing that I like more than bashing my head against errors and inconsistencies on the internet instead of doing what I should have been doing instead. Perhaps you can tell I’m an INTP female.

  • @fellowg73ok
    @fellowg73ok 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

I feel like even though I’m an INTP, life has beaten me down and my life experiences have smoothed the rough edges of my INTP personality. I am very fond of the way I break gender stereotypes. I also enjoy wearing dresses since they are one piece of clothing which is so efficient and the fact that it signals femininity to others also makes it easier to connect to others, which I also value since it is efficient. I also take care of my hair, since I don’t have time for others’ judgements if I did not. So I seem quite feminine, even though I mostly enjoy doing masculine activities, like fixing the house, using power tools, playing sports. I feel like the male gender took all the fun stuff and oppressed women by leaving us with all the chores like cleaning, cooking, shopping for food, clothing, supplies for the home, watching the children, etc. So, instead of using my time in those expected ways, I just do whatever feels right.
I acknowledge that as a 5ft 2in tall woman, I have less physical ability than most, but I like to still challenge myself to do things small women are not expected to do, such as mowing the lawn, carrying heavy things. Basically, whatever I am personally interested in, I want to attempt to master, regardless if my body was made for it or not. I feel like that is the most important part of being an INTP, chaotically creating a new way of living for one’s self, disregarding the status quo, because it is logical to do so in order to become one’s true authentic self. Otherwise, we’d be more concerned with faking to the public, creating a perception and persona, acting like we are not this way, hiding that we enjoy the things that interest us. But we don’t have time to be dishonest, when we could better spend that time learning and experiencing. We are very alive, active and seeking as INTPs, especially in the realm of learning. We always want to learn.
In my own case, as an INTP I’m rather self centered and self serving. I want what I want, and don’t see the harm in pursuing it. If I work hard for it, then I deserve it. So anyone telling me it’s the wrong way for a woman to live, or normal women don’t do that, just because MOST women aren’t that way, it just sounds like white noise to me. If I’m living the way I want, then it’s the right way for this normal woman to live.

As an INTP guy, I think this video was a bit too specific. Though its possible that it's stereotypically valid (not like that can be easily proven in the first place), I think it should've been better to be a bit more general. As an INTP I have always eventually droppped conversations with people who somehow aren't able to start any meaningful, deep conversations. But aside from my love for intellectual stimulation, I also really like fantasizing about "lovey-dovey" stuff. I've done the test many times with different platforms (thus different questions) and had the same strong result for INTP. Yes, I value independence and personal boundaries, that's a really good point the video made. That doesn't mean I'm useless at social interactions. My acquaintances have frequently guessed that I was an ENTP, but those who know me well know that I am an INTP. I think social ineptness is a bit too specific for this video. There's always a spectrum for that. I also care about my appearance to a significant degree. No, I don't use makeup, nor do I bother to have a skincare routine. But I shower everyday and am at the very least really self-conscious about looking good. I get really bothered by stray acne, and I make sure to scour every hook and cranny of my body with bodywash. I'm especially conscious about making sure my scalp is clean. I don't spend much time on my appearance but I actually care quite a bit. Perhaps the reason why I don't spend much time on my appearance is because I'm relatively comfortable with the way I look (but am still conscious about it). But I can't help but think that many INTP women would also find themselves relating to many, if not all the points made in the video (comments agree with me). My point is though, when making "---- men / ---- women videos, being vague or using conditional language such as "might, most likely, possibly" would ensure that nobody would watch it and feel greatly contradicted.

I just said the same thing in response to someone else's comment on this video about the dangers of stating outcomes as factual as opposed to general traits . The traits could express themselves in different ways but there's no one specific way each outcome will present.
I have a strong need for order and routine and part of that is in my appearance. I also cannot relax if everything is not in its place in my home.

"I am an INTP but I don't do this or this trait listed!" Yes. Of course. I don't understand how this is so complicated. There are only 16 buckets in the Myers-Briggs personality tests - do you think all of these common traits will fit with every person who gets the INTP personality type? Also, it's based on your own responses, so the types really reflect how YOU perceive yourself, and may not be accurate. It's a fun, silly thing, not something to take so seriously. It's like astrology, with a little more reason behind it, since it's based on more than just when you were born.

Right, which is why you shouldn't make such a definitive list of the outcomes of the various ways these traits express themselves. The commentors here are adding insight into the dangers of sweeping with such a broad brush and it's an important piece of the conversation to gain understanding into various ways in which these traits might present.
It's like saying "X types of people are more inclined to consume more sugar" then making a video about how "X people absolutely LOVE M&Ms and can't get enough of them. Matter of fact, they mostly only eat M&Ms. You'll find them hiding in a closet on many occasions jamming handfuls of M&Ms into their mouths" when really, those who are more likely to struggle with sugar could hate M&Ms. That's why it's better to focus on the overall trait and not state outcomes so factually.

Reasons why the thing about doing girly stuff might not really apply as simply as this video suggests... 1 INTPs are very creative people. Grooming/make-up/clothes can be a form of creative expression. Even though it's not our primary function, having aesthetically outward creative outlets is very healthy for us. Also - 2 aesthetics by itself can be another complex puzzle to be unraveled, experimenting with clothes/makeup could end up being the result of our latest cerebral interest. 3 Another reason why an intp woman would look after her appearance is that we want to keep our 'outer world' as simple as possible because we have so much going on in our inner world. We are social chameleons and learn to adapt. Maybe it's a bit like high functioning autism, we are smart and over time we learn to adapt to social conventions. We learn to hide our inner world as it can intimidate or just annoy others. As we get older we refine these social chameleon skills.

Looking pretty might not be our top prioritiy due the constant "chaos" going around in our head, but we still try to make an effort to look good when we get the chance (I can't say this for all INTP women but i think the majority would agree).

I do makeup sometimes because I find it really fun actually. I love looking pretty, though I'm lazy but sometime its just fun and want to do it.

So many people commenting who either aren't INTP, or need to look at these traits a little deeper. Ok, so you love fashion and makeup, but the video says something else. Ask yourself why you love those things. Are you enjoying them on a deeper level than just, "Oh that's a cute skirt," or "I have to put this stuff on my face to appear prettier than other girls?" I think the thing about INTPs is that they look at things with logic and reason and find a deeper meaning in them.

as an INTP am to busy cultivating the lense of awareness, to study the inner consiousness, to even think about how i look, i shower am clean. am on top of practicle things. the development of the Koshas, is top priority. As for Family, well ive done it but cant say that nesting and reproductive process is the highlight of the life expirience, more of a bio;ogical function,

I am an INTP female mother of an ESTJ teen son. I work as a director of a flight school. I loathe house work. I wear make up and dress appropriately.

As an INTP female, most of things are true. Especially that I can’t keep a chick as a friend per they come with too much drama and clingy-ness. I have always had guy friends, however that doesn’t work out for obvious reasons. It also doesn’t help that I have a very dark sense of humor.

Whether an INTP woman loves to look pretty or not depends on how interested she is in men.
