Since I've been really interested in Korean food and cooking and I couldn't find perilla any where in my area I started growing it. Might as well since I'm an avid gardener. So I grow it in pots. First I tried to start it inside my house and then transfer it outside but it died when I did that so I just sprinkled the seeds on top of the soil and it sprouted just fine!! I can't wait to taste it. :D Thank you so much for all of your videos!! Because of you I've brought a lot of Korean cook ware and ingredients. My Dad even said I should consider traveling to Seoul. I've actually converted my family to Korean foods because I love trying new things. My brothers love the Army stew and pork neck bone stew. :)

Love it, but they often love to tell you if you gain one pound, have a pimple, look tired, and so on. It can be very hard on you. Even if you are local and "used" to it, it doesn't feel good. Plus then you add the TH-cam trolls. You just need to let go and have your own personal metrics and judgements.
Yeah... I'm Australian and I've noticed when my cousins and Aunties come over from Singapore they are like this... I guess it is part of their culture.. they seem to love to critique and analyse personal things like it's a hobby! 0_o

I have been to Dakgalbi alley many times and this brings back so many memories. 닭갈비is a favorite for me. Perilla leaves are just marketed as "sesame leaves" in the western grocery stores, sometimes they're even mistakenly labeled as Shiso leaves in western grocery stores which is altogether an entirely different plants. Purple perilla leaves grow wild all over chicago as a decorative shrub, when I find them in cleaner locations away from roads I pick them for my dinner table. The best way to pick out perilla leaves in western markets is to look for the leaves labeled as "sesame leaves" and select medium sized ones that are bright green on one side and starting to turn purple on the other side!

Omg I love dakgalbi I had it when we lived in South Korea and omg!!! I loved it especially when they put cheese on top instead of adding the egg but the egg looks so good too
Thank you for the recipe. My husband loved it when he was in Korea. He and I always went to dakgalbi restaurants. It was cheap and delicious. I made my own recipe but it always came bad! I believe that I can cook better one with your recipe. This meal is good with mulkimchi. Thanks a lot.
Last time I have Cheese Dakgalbi and Budae Jjigae with my classmates when the local Korean restaurant just newly opened. The Cheese Dakgalbi really impressed me with ooey gooey melted cheese, spicy yet savory chicken and chewy rice cake. After we finished the meal, the waiter making fried rice with left over sauce and ingredients stuffed some cheese inside oh after all this it made me so starving haha
Also, you're not fat!! haha You look so happy and joyful and you enjoy your food without making apologies for the fact that good food can bring you to your knees!!
