I've seen every Franco film while reading the Thrower books alongside them. His best make him an underappreciated film maker, his worst give all the haters all the munition they need to make him an underappreciated film maker :)

Two female spies is on the same disc as Two Undercover Angels - so you do have it! Lovely video, although I'm yet to see a Franco film I actually enjoy!!!
"Kiss Me Monster"? As in "kiss my monster" in colloquial British English? I noticed recently that native English speakers rarely use commas when addressing someone. There's a pretty big difference between "let's eat John" and "let's eat, John".
Hi Simon. Get the Umbrella release of the twin bill The Bloody Judge/Circus of Fear. The Bloody Judge has Christopher Lee and definitely a Franco film where he had a budget. It’s got some decent battle scenes in it, proof of what Franco was capable of given some money. Do you have the Fu Manchu Boxset from Indicator? Uncle Jess directed the last two Fu Manchu films with Chris Lee, it’s a slide in quality yes.. like most sequels the budget is getting less and less so by the time you get to Franco it’s way lesser than it should be. I’ve always described Vampyros Lesbos to anyone as it totally does what it says on the tin. Franco lives!!
Ah mate, I actually have those! My bad for not showing them. The double feature is with all my compilations discs and the Fu Manchu box is on the shelf. My bad in forgetting to show them!
Great stuff! Well I really love uncle Jess, I must own about 250 different films / cuts of his films! Films I suggest , Bloody Judge, Eugenie - journey into perversion, Eugenie De Sade, Justine (romina power) , 99 women, The devil island lovers, Jack The Ripper , Love Letters of A Portuguese Nun , Alone in Terror (I don’t know if there is blue ray or even dvd release) . I hope I helped!
Thanks so much! 250, wow! You must have them all. Some of these I have on my list to get asap like Eugine, Justine, 99 Women - just want to get those blue underground discs for a decent price!
@@ExplosiveAction actually I m missing a lot haha! I mean he had like 3,4 different cuts for each film, softcores, hardcore, as Clifford brown, Jess frank etc! I don’t think that we ll be able to gather all his films. Yes the blue underground ones often have also some different cuts etc, really good releases thus pricy I guess!
i found the movie CYBORG and HARD TARGET based on your love of cheezy action movies - i love thoes movies - i didnt know they existed - enjoy your taste in music and movies - just wanted to let you know your influencing others to enjoy low budget cheeze :D
I have a... dissuasion (can I say it like that?) of a Franco film called Revenge In The House Of Usher. I haven't seen it, but I saw an old review by The Spoony One and the movie looks like a snoozefest with lots of filler and some reused footage from The Awful Dr. Orlof. Just a heads up!
@@ExplosiveAction Watch the review if you have 20 minutes to spare, it's pretty funny. Unfortuantely he used an awful VHS rip as a source, so you can barely tell what's happening in some parts. It doesn't help that most of the action takes place in a dark castle.
Have you ever muted a movie completely in some scenes because you hated the music? I just saw They Call Me Macho Woman and the music was just the worst. The composition was an endless version of something you'd hear for 10 seconds in an establishing shot. Hard to explain the awfulness.
Might want to keep an eye out for Countess Perverse by Mondo Macabro. I have the DVD edition but there was also a very limited triple-feature blu-ray version. Both are out of print but it wouldn't surprise me to see Kino reissue it.
That Noir double feature by Severin is seriously underappreciated. Impressive collection.
Thanks!
Nice collection mate , I did used to have a few of his myself - Soledad Miranda was one beautiful specimen - shame she died at such a young age
Indeed, very sad

Jess Franco, the Spanish Joe D’Amato.
Absolutely! Some real paralells there. Joe is less dreamlike, and more "here's some gore-boobs" but it's the thought that counts lol
@@ExplosiveAction Yep. Both were extremely prolific and weren’t afraid to dabble in different genres.

If some god awful mumble rap comes on I will reach for that remote
@@ExplosiveAction Can you name any examples? I mostly watch pre-2000 movies. I like old underground rap, but mumble rap is just awful.
Haha nothing immediately comes to mind, likely some low quality direct to video action I watched

I actually locked that rare mondo Blu triple in yesterday haha
