Great review. I just bought my first powerstation - Jackery 1000 plus - black firday deal (before seeing pecron and oupes). I am not happy with Jackery unit, flakey. AC charging several times wouldnt not go higher then 300w charging. I am returning the Jackery and it Pecron is alot more affordable then the opes when adding one add-on battery. LOVE your reviews. I work in telco business and deal with DC alot, your reviews are down to earth and very usable.
So far so good. I bought the e3600 and an expansion battery a few months ago for emergencies. We lost power a couple of days ago due to the LA fires. I’ve been running 2 freezers, a refrigerator and TV, our water circulation pump when we shower and a coffee maker, charging phones and 3 utility lights. Made it 55 hours and was down to 15%. Took them to a friend’s house and charged them fully in 2.5 hours.
Great video man, thank you 👍 I ordered a few Ecoflows during this black Friday sale, but I'm really considering picking up a Pecron. Either the 1500 or 3600 (which does have the xt60 solar inputs.) Keep up the good work o7
I'm going to use the XD60 to get 2 (or 3) more 120W cigarette socket ports - in addition to the built in cigarette lighter port. Amazon has an XD60 to dual cigarette port on 12 Gauge Wire. These ports will allow me to run two or more iceco 12volt refrigerators. Great video btw. Thanks for this review.
I love it, got one myself. You need to look at the minimum voltage on the 700w solar input. You can still do what you’re wanting to but you’ll need to bump up the voltage. These run off of 48v internal battery.😊
@@TheOldJarhead I have a Pecron 1500 and an etaker1000 and I'm trying to figure out how to get the 700W for charging but it seems like I would need an XT60 to GX cable? I'm not sure if that is a thing but I'm starting to think this power station won't work well with fast charging using an alternator charger...any thoughts would be much appreciated 🙏
I am new to this game and I just received my Jackory 1000 v2 and it is awesome; 5 complete stars in the review. At 69 I still enjoy tent camping and it runs my fan, refer, and radio just great. The regular charge time just takes an hour and a half. Price $420 only 24 lbs. I cannot find what the E1500LFP weighs?
Thank you for the video! Thank you for offering to reply to comments. I'm looking to make my first power station purchase. I was debating between the e1000LFP, this e1500LFP and the new e2400LFP. I want to be able to run camp lights, it diesel heater and a vehicle refrigerator simultaneously and for at least a day without recharging. Do you think all of these units could do that? Do you think any of them could or couldn't do that? Of course I'll also have it for backup power at home if ever it's needed.
Bigger is better. I really like the E1500LFP and it's my go to unit for cabin trips ( Runnig a fridge on the way and back, mobile poer etc) but if I could carry a larger one I would. I'm just limited to about 40lbs right now. As for running everything I'd say you need to get wattage off each and determine how many hours etc to be sure but I find a 1500 works well for what you want specially if combined with a DC charger and some solar
I purchased the E1500LFP because it has the DC 12 volt output that maxes at 30 amps. Many diesel heaters pull more than 10 amps on start up, which I've heard will trip the breaker on the cigarette lighter plugs. Most of those are rated at just 10 amps. Just an observation if you are wanting to run a diesel heater on direct DC power.
@@TheOldJarhead I've heard that some simple van and camper builds like this 30 amp 12 volt output. They will run this to a fuse panel to power all the twelve volt items in their builds. I can see that being a good option.
Pecron put XT60 solar inputs for their newer E3600LFP . So it looks like they are getting with the program and transitioning away from the aircraft GX16MF. There are alot of uses for the xt60 DC output. Xt60s are really becoming common in the drone/fpv/rc world and ham radio world among others. Two common uses for portable power supplies. In RC many people use DC to DC chargers, and those often use an xt60. So much that finding a charger that takes wall power is actually a bit of an upgrade. You also find many common tools like a battery powered soldering iron that just has an xt60 on it. It seems xt60 is where lipo batteries are really settling so working with that ecosystem, then given the price, size, performance its a good choice. While not perfect it does avoid things like cross polarity. As for the dc barrel connector I suspect someone figured out they had more available capacity on the DC side and needed/wanted to find a way to get it out. They could have added a lower current rating cigarette lighter adapter, but other than the confusion users might have those take up a great deal of space. If you do need a second cigarette lighter socket an adapter to that barrel port is only a few bucks. Really there are any number of adapters that someone might want for specific use cases and the barrel plug is small and well rated for the load.
There are two ports and two separate charge controllers on the Pecron. One is rated at 100 watts with a voltage of 12-18v which indicates a max of 8.33amps. The second, rated at 700w with a voltage range of 32 to 95v indicates 7.36amps but I would have to test to see if it could get over that at the lower voltages -- something I've been meaning to do.
Have you checked the Pecron app to see if they've updated it to allow you to turn down the AC charging input wattage? 1500W without a way to turn it down is a non-starter for me. The E1000LFP has the feature, but the E1500LFP did not as of initial release. I'm eyeballing this power station precisely because of the XT60 12V 30A DC output. Most cheap diesel heaters will trip the 10A cigarette outlet on startup; 10A just isn't quite enough for these heaters. Plus, you could build yourself quite the set of DC fused circuits with 30 total amps. Think about plugging this device to power a camping trailer's DC circuits without using the AC to DC converter. The E1000LFP also has XT60 12V DC out, but it's 20A, which is enough to run a diesel heater. As another old Jarhead, I appreciate you saying, "Out" when you're finished. "Over and out" bugs the snot out of me 🙂
I was trying to decide between a Pecron E3600+1 battery and building my own 16kwh pack. I really like the features on the 3600, the 150v MPPTs, reasonable kwh, almost reasonable battery prices but it was just too good to pass up building my own pack. $0.13/wh for the DIY battery (16x EVE MB31 cells from Georgia, 1 case+BMS from China, all shipped for about $2000) I wish they would come up with a standard for battery connection where we could make our own packs and use them. One way to 'do that' is to use them on the MPPT inputs but you won't be pulling as much power from them as if they were properly connected.
Thank you very much for the in depth review. I have a question about any odd fan noises your unit may or may not be making when the inverter fans turn on. I just opened up my new E1500LFP and charged it up. There is a concerning, weird, spacecraft laser (squeal) sound that is emitted from the fans when the internal inverter turns on. Does your 1500 unit make any weird squealing noises when you pull an AC load on it? I posted a video of this noise on my channel for others to listen to and give me feedback as to "IF" it is a problem. Would you mind viewing the two minute video titled "Pecron E1500LFP with defective cooling fans?" and let me know if your unit makes this noise? If you don't have the time, I understand. I just thought I'd ask. Thanks!
@@TheOldJarhead Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it. I have messaged support and the rep has offered a refund if I want, yet says I shouldn't worry about the squeal. I imagine I'll return the unit. It will be used inside my camper and I don't want to cringe every time I hear the noise🥴Thanks!
