I bought my Mark xx green dial in May of 2023. It is still one of my favorites in my collection. The proportions are such that it fits many wrist sizes (not too big or small). It truly is a GADA watch! I highly recommend buying it on the bracelet as it's one of the best in the business. Just a great watch all around!
I got this watch 8 months ago, and love wearing it!! even after I just got a brand new $12,000 omega, that first week of owning the omega I only wore my new watch 4 days because I wanted to wear the mark xx 3 days. It's so perfect with whatever outfit I choose. and I like the ease-exchange strap system, I got it originally with a stainless steel bracelet then I got a brown leather strap, I sometimes use an omega nato strap in white and blue, and recently got a ease x-change red rubber strap, so I really do wear this in just about every occasion, just swapping the straps depending on how casual I want it.
I got this just when it came out, it became instantly my favorite watch and eventually my wedding watch so this will never leave the collection. Great review keep it going 🙏🏻
Same here! Sending an email to one of the Sales Advisors of the Zurich boutique as we speak! Was looking to get the Omega Speedmaster 57 blue dial, but the simplicity, robustness of this watch feel more like „me“. Thank you!
1 - the Mark 18 had a polished bezel too, if we are talking blue dial variant. The black didn’t. 2 - the black dial is actually textured and VERY matte
Beautiful review, thank you! I heard about some issues in terms of accuracy (IWC doesn't state any rating) and jumping minute hand while hacking the movement...have you experienced any of those? How accurate is yours?
My mark XX does the jumping hand sometimes but not if you turn the crown counterclockwise first so not an actual problem And runs plus 5 to 8 seconds fast pr day
Mine has the jumping hand issue too, but it's not that bad actually and occurs only about 2/10 times. The accuracy with my model is at around +1.5 seconds per day
IWC, slide the '9' and the date window 0.7 mm to the right, L2L 48mm height, then you have an almost perfect watch, at least a better proportion. Thanks.
Every IWC pilot's watch has a soft iron cage. It was a spec requirement on their military contracts when they released their first pilot's watches in the 1930s.
@alevansebel that's not true anymore. Some of the newest gen pilot chronos and big pilots have sapphire case backs, which makes a soft iron cage impossible
There is a similar looking Pilot's watch series model in 36mm, but it's not exactly a Mark XX. It has the previous Sellita based movement IW35111, which is also a great work horse.
@@Scan_Speak tbh i feel the same way about mark xx i would prefer a longines spirit 37mm over any mark line model anyday and the lower price with almost same level of finishing amd better movement is cherry on the top
I have been considering this watch until I fount that the aircraft depicted on it is a Junkers JU52. It is a deal breaker, I could not wear watch depicting German Nazi aircraft.
Maybe this will change your mind..."Starting in 1933, the Nazi regime that had taken power in Germany demanded Junkers produce military versions of the Ju 52. Over Hugo Junkers' resistance, the company was compelled to produce military aircraft; in 1935, Nazi officials came to Hugo Junker's house on his birthday, resulting in his death under unclear circumstances and his company having been signed over to the state."

so much classier than an Omega
It really is brilliant!
@@michaelbishop9157since the time I bought omega AT small second I start regret I haven't purchased this particular IWC. GREAT watch !

Another great review. Putting Hodinkee to shame once again. You guys do an excellent job picking watches to review.
This Mark XX in blue dial and bracelet is going to be my peak timepiece. Aiming for this for my 40th 🤙
This video has played a very large role in my decision to purchase the IWC Mark XX. Feel free to pass that along to the brand. I will as well.

Does this model have a soft iron cage? There's no mention of its anti magnetic qualities on the specifications?
Great video, love the watch.

6:34 why does the second hand jump backwards when pulling out the crown?
It’s from gears connecting.
Who cares as long it doesn’t do it while pushing it back in.

My XX has been amazingly accurate losing only 3 seconds per week! (I take it off a night to sleep, but wear it for approx 16 hours per day).
Mine has the jumping hand issue too, but it's not that bad actually and occurs only about 2/10 times. The accuracy with my model is at around +1.5 seconds per day
Hi, how big is your wrist in this video? Looks like Mark XX fits perfectly
Just under 8”
amazing review and video, thank you

How much does it weigh?
What color is the leather band? You said it’s blue? But it looks brown or black I can’t make it out
It’s definitely a dark blue strap! It just reads a bit darker on camera in the low light studio 👍
It is worth it if you get a discount. I bought it this week on the super comfy steel bracelet.
How much for?
@ I paid 5000€ flat for it.
Great video Thanks!
Finally, a watch reviewer who removes the hair off his arm/hand. Good job mate :)
?
Thanks for the amazing , I own the watch and love it.
I believe the Mark XVIII also has a soft iron cage anti-magnetic protection system.

@@kreiman770 ya I forgot about those. Baffling decision, honestly.
@@ddogiddogi I really like their open case backs. Their skeletonized rotors remind me of aviation

Bro, gimme lume shot please. Cease the torch flicking over thing. It looks cool yes, but I need lume shot please.
Please review the longines spirit 37mm and how it fares against the mark 20 imo for a fraction of the price its just as good of a watch if not better
I like the Mark XX and wouldn't cross shop it with the Spirit which I find aesthetically displeasing.

Looks awesome on you.
Nice video! Please make a review for the IWC 43 MM Big Pilot -IW329301
can anyone tell me why only IWC watches have the blue glare on their glasses, and why they put it there where no other brand does it 😅

Date window (03:00) is very very bad... We need a no-date version... By the way, we do not want a "ghost date space" in a no-date watch...
Please note that Junkers is not pronounced as in junk. Please research to avoid laughs 😁. It's as in Yunn-kers. That's German, dude...
Too big
You may be right😢
Your wrist is too small
@@whereRbearsTeeth that's what she said about you
It’s a pilot watch
@@user-vu4tf3eb9lsays the guy with a girl sized wrist that can’t wear a 40mm watch lol. Ok 👍🏼
