I totally had an original G1 Optimus Prime when I was a kid. I played with that thing so much. Eventually his legs continuously wanted to fold backward. That made it harder to play with, but never stopped me.
It's a legit Reissue. The KO's all have the trailer in the OG box. I never had G1 Prime as a kid either, my "Optimus Prime" was the Super GoBot Stacks. I think my first Prime was Power Master Optimus Prime. I eventually picked up a G1 prime from either a garage sale or early Ebay (can't recall now) and then bought the very first Commemorative Series reissue. And since the smoke stacks got nerfed from new toy safety standards, I swapped the stacks of my G1 with the reissue. :D
I did not get a G1 Prime when i was young (do to not being born for 10 more years) but i recently got a KO of him and honestly its such a good figure! I got the Toyhax stickers because the KO ones were terrible
Honestly I'm glad that they're reissuing G1 prime again.. I'm a G1 original purest when it comes to having a collection of the original toys but I do like buying the reissues and I will say I am really glad about three issues for the original Optimus prime in those kind of figures because the old one is way too expensive. I did buy one awhile ago because I got a great deal for one with the box for like 190. I don't think I'll find a price like that ever again really.
I bought this figure because the '84 original was so hard to find where I grew up. We used Ultra Magnus' cab as Prime instead! So, I was pleased to buy this reissue. However, the awesome looking shiny stickers kept tearing as I gently removed them from the sticker-sheet! Hasbro said they had no spare labels, so I bought reproduction ones instead, which sadly aren't shiny. He's a bit of a mish-mash now!
He comes with 2 guns? Nice. I've never been one for the G1 toys as I feel they're too simple (understandable for the time they were released) but I did get me hands on the Missing Link Optimus a while back and he's great.
Never did own a G1 Optimus toy and I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't want one, though I'm not that desperate to get one that's for sure. But yeah, this is one neat classic retro figure that would be an absolute must get, though I will say the first Optimus toy I got was a movie voyager Optimus prime from the allspark subline where it was decoed as "G1 colors" despite that it was orange, but I'm ok with that really, still happy with that figure most of the time.
As a guy who got into Transformers from watching the Bayverse films as a kid, I've always wanted a G1 Optimus from the 2008 Reissue. I finally got one and the only thing missing are his fists which are hard to come by online for a fair price.
I got the og for Christmas when I was in 1st grade. They’re about the same. Quality was a little tighter and the purples were almost black but it’s the same toy essentially
honestly, i was born way after g1 was a thing so i missed all of the older figures. i have however been considering getting some of the reissues from the 86 movie line (i got the soundwave but idk which other ones were worth getting) any suggestions on what would be worth getting my hands on (g1 specifically) that isnt insanely priced?
I have the Rodimus, Starscream, Blaster and Soundwave from that recolored toon accurate 86 movie reissue series. I dont think you can ever go wrong with either of the cassette bots. Love those guys, no crazy parts forming parts to lose, nice boxy fellas and they look pretty great displayed in either modes. Blaster’s comically huge compared to Soundwave in the G1 toys but he’s meant to be a boombox and Soundwaves a cassette player so makes some sense. Still funny
Its a real reissue, but it feels so different from every other G1 prime I've ever owned (and I've owned a lot). Its an entirely fresh, newly cast mold. The colors are very vibrant and weird, the shoulder mechanism is entirely different, the stickers are AWFUL and overall it's a very cheap feeling reissue. It really disappointed me
I had a "G1" Optimus, but it had to be one of the reissues cause I woulda been like 5 years old or younger during the real G1 era

Nice! Love a happy ending to a parts swap story!
Need to snatch a copy for my Prime shelf!
Fr, theres nothin quite like the og
Well, aside from missing link lol
@@NiStuff True! I am probably gonna pass on Missing Link and go for the Legacy release of G1 Prime
@@DeltaTrion yeah, excited for that one!

Awesome!
My first Optimus was RID/Fire Convoy.
I still have him but he's in bad shape from heavy play
A life well lived

We need more Magenta Sandwaves. Badly.
So unbelievably true

Yeah stickers arent the best.
@@NiStuff - Very enjoyable video! 👍

Yeah he’s awesome, but also stay tuned later in this prime month…
@@NiStuff Oh? Looking forward to it!
He dosen't come with a matrix of leadership, so you can put anything you want in his chest, his chest is a chest, maybe put a chess in there
Hell yeah

Nice! Love an orange prime.
The “meaningless geometry stickers” 😂
Love that shit lol
Finally! Ni Stuff talking about Ni details!!

Ah shit, that’d kill me. Maybe some highquality 3D printed resin ones?

I had Thunderclash, which I think Machine Wars Optimus was based on, long gone though.
Yup, same base mold and rip to the og.
yeah
Thanks for the video.
No problem
Since MW Prime was your first transforming Prime, who was your first Prime in general?
If it helps, my shoulder face stickers been looking like it’s gonna peel off for 4 years and still hasn’t!
Awesome haha
My shoulder stickers peeled away 😣
Noooooo

I don't have a G1 Prime. Am I a fake fan? 😢
Nah, youre just fine. My insecurities are my own lol
I didn't have a G1 style prime until 20 God damn 12 you are fine
