      I know it sounds strange but try sugar for a hand cleaner. with just plane water or u can add a few drops of dish soap. Works better than any industrial scrub i have ever tried. put one of the powder soap dispensers next to the shop sink and just fill it with sugar. besides being way cheaper its supper easy on the hands with no chemicals.

      @@rushinarma863 Yes! My mother has this scrub stuff that smells like strawberries and I tried it on a whim once. It works REALLY good. Its also delicious (I mean..better than some jams Ive had! It does have sand..so...yeah, not good). Sugar and salt are great abrasive hand cleaners, although I wont lie. I still use gasoline to wash my hands from gunky stuff, RTVs and so on. @@WatchWesWork I have a set of the GearWrench adjustable pry bars (part no. 82301). I also have the 48" the GearWrench 48-Inch Extendable Pry Bar (part no. 82248). Great tools! I did have one break though. It was the medium sized (10") one. My son snapped it in half prying out an oil seal. You could see where there was a flaw in the steel of the handle. I got on GearWrench's website, went to the warranty section, uploaded a picture, explained what happened and I had a new one 10 days later. No questions asked. Hard to beat that. I like GearWrench and Sunex tools for several reasons, including quality and price, but the top two are: 1) each tool has their own part number and are sold separately, and 2) both are really good about their warranty. Since I do the most critical and major work on my vehicles in the middle of the night, hours before I have to be at work, when it's raining and/or sleeting, while laying on my back in the oil soaked mud of the driveway (that has enough embedded broken concrete to tear holes in my clothes while ensuring I can in no way use a creeper), I like to use my Braun worklight so I can clearly see the actual and metaphorical results of my poor life decisions.

    Wes, hand cleaner. I'd like to tell you what I use for hand cleaner. I'm surprised you haven't mentioned it, maybe you haven't tried this. I like Fast Orange, or anything with pumice. I apply hand cleaner and work it in a little, then apply in addition to this, some dish soap (palmolive is nice), scrub. Once you have these cleaners lifting away grime, rinse clean with water. Literally NO residue, and I only need to do this ONCE. I keep hand cleaner and fake towels near my cart for quick rough cleanup. I keep hand cleaner and a dish soap pump at my sink. If you try it once, I'm sure you'll get hooked. Just don't even think about using water until you rub in the dish soap. It may seem like 2 steps but it's not. More like two half steps, THEN rinse. Works with all grease or oils I've come across. No residues. WD-40 Contact Cleaner killed my HF Light... I did love it though. Especially after changing the battery cell to a decent one.

I also have those Ullman picks, but the long shaft variants- solid buy for very little money. Don't waste too much on the name branded ones. I do keep a couple sets of the cheesy HF ones on hand that I treat as disposables. I've gone to rechargeable LED headlamps and rarely touch my other lights anymore. Different story for camera work obviously.

    Love the tool review. Problem is the “special” ones I’ve had for a bit (other then the hand soap). I think I even tried to recommend the seal picks to you before. I use the small straight one more then my pocket screwdriver. If you ever get into valve cleaning on direct injection gasoline cars the longer ones are good to break up the big chunks of carbon (some people use a bead blaster with walnut).
    I use a small adjustable GearWrench pry bar as an ignition coil puller. Works fantastically.
    With all the exhaust work you do, if you don’t already I highly suggest getting a chain style exhaust cutter. It makes life so much easier then a die cutter or torch. Lisle makes a decent one.

    Shorts don't work on my channel as well and people that subscribe from watching the shorts only care to watch shorts and the views from shorts don't help the channel found out that people that subscribe from shorts never seen the full length content suggestions and it screws the analytics up and dosent count tords the channel views its stupid @Watch Wes Work

    Those indexing head pry bars are the cats pajamas! I've got one of the huge GW ones that are extendable ones. Liked it so much I had to buy a second one! Cuz you know, you always need two bars when you're prying! I've got a little guy like that as well. GW makes some great stuff and really stands behind it. And you can't beat their prices!

    I don't notice the traffic noise. Those Maxxon lights...Can you flip them backwards and stick the magnet? So the base is out of play. Take it easy 🐾

    Hey Wes...love your videos [short or long]. Didn't hear any road noise. Let's talk hand cleaners....I'm 67 and have worked in machine shops, welding and mechanics. The absolute best hand cleaner you can find is liquid dish soap. Does an excellent job of getting grease of your hands and "gentle on your skin, you're soaking in it". Are you old enough to remember that?

    • @terryharvey4811
      @terryharvey4811 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do. And I've used it since the early 70's. Cleans great, easy on the hands, and smells good too. Back then, GOJO was the in thing for mechanics, but it was expensive. House brand dish soap 97 cents per GALLON. Every time I used GOJO, I still felt like I needed to wash my hands in soap and water to git rid of the GOJO.

    That's two shop rules, any remotely flat surface will become a workbench, anything that even slightly resembles a prybar will be used as one

    Well, Wes, you’ve done it again, you made me spend $$$. The Mule Head Original Red is really good stuff! Few places have it here back east, but Hoober Equipment in Wakefield, Va. carries it. And the Gearwrench pry bars are pretty slick even if they are Made in China. So thanks again, you taught a 60-year wrencher some new tricks!
    And the shorts are just fine with me 👍
