Thank you so much for uploading this fabulous aria, by one of my favourite composers. Max Cencic is something else altogether. We're so blessed to have such great musicians in our times.
What a remarkable musical career: boy soprano soloist, sopranist during his transition, and now excellent countertenor. I am looking forward to the arrival of his new CD "Airs d'operas" (Opera Arias.) 5 stars ... if there still were a rating system like that.
superb singer, saw him once in an oratorio by handel, Suzannah, led by william christie. will see him in Farance by Vivaldi, led by Diego Fasolis. Together with the Jean-Christophe Spinosi Vivaldi opera cds, the best one so far. Maximum vocalist!
One of the most critically-unintelligent books which I ever let me seduce me, when I was only age 14 or 15, is a biography of Gluck -- which condemned his early work. In some regards, Gluck's earliest works were his most beautiful! He gave no less than Johann Adolph Hasse a real run for his money, when Gluck composed in Late Baroque/Galant style.
I found out now, that this opera was written by Gluck, I think we could at least mention the composer! Out now on CD, with the same group of people plus Topi Lehtipuu and Ann Hallenberg and others, - perhaps not really obscure any longer...
@@67pamina Haha, so many composers set this libretto to music, I wasn't aware of that! But this aria is by Gluck. Track 6 here: www.amazon.de/Alan-Curtis/dp/B005G9YWUY/ref=tmm_msc_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1591311328&sr=1-4
