If you turn up and your workshop one day and find a peculiar object just sitting in a corner somewhere, that'll just be me lol I could watch you work all day 😍
It was quite a thrill to watch you draw the oval from the four reference points. I am a calligrapher, not up there with the masters or anything but not a novice either. Ovals and curves are what we practise. Drawing an oval is not as easy as you made it look. Those shapes you create as each layer progresses also create an infinite number of ways in which it could go wrong. Yet the sculpture has such balance of form it is breathtaking. Thank you for taking time to share it with us.
Another stunning sculpture you make it look so easy, taking a piece of slate and getting the perfect size and shape this proves you have a good eye . Always look forward to your videos.
Thank you Richard. I'm pleased the amount of work comes across. Of speeding up the video to make it watchable while still conveying just how long it really takes.
Hi James this is Michelle from California once again this video was amazing I look forward to seeing more of your videos and a bit of Scotland's Countryside
Absolutely beautiful!!! The finished piece gives me a calming feeling when viewed, could the symmetry create this effect??? No matter this will be a lovely addition to what I'm sure is a grand garden!!!! Stay safe!!!! Best wishes from Kentucky, USA!!!!!
In-freakin-sane!!! I actually find the process almost hypnotizing...and the outcome is always amazing!! James you are so gifted ~ Keep up the beautiful work!!

Truly amazing, your Art work is stunning. Do you put the designs down on paper. Or do you just know how the design will turn out. Happy new year to you and your family. 👍🐺
Thanks Douglas. Yes - when it is safe to do so and the rules permit. I also have a sculpture waiting in Spain to be installed and a huge number of enquiries from North America. Such strange times we are all in.
Beautiful as alway's. Just a thought how about putting in some of the bloopers, lets see your humane n make the odd mistake or are you a C.G.I. your sculptures look so perfect!
The famous haggis hunt. A rarely seen beast that is found high in the Scottish mountains. It often makes an appearance on 25th January - an unusual looking creature...one leg longer than the other making it easier to keep it's balance on the rugged terrain.

Hi Dee. No it's not fixed - I build quite a lot before fixing it periodically. It's not the same so if I used it as a template it would only help get a rough shape. The other thing to think about is that the shape is determined partly by the thickness of the stone:If the stone is thin then the shape would be more similar to the stone beneath/above, if it is thick then the difference is greater. Even though this stone is fairly similar in thickness it can vary by a few millimetres which makes quite a difference.
Well the long and short of it, a torus stone is a donut shaped rock with a hole in the middle that generates magnetic and electromagnetic fields. Incredibly powerful technology that exist merely by shape and nothing else (the ones I've seen are granite if I'm not mistaken. TH-cam used to have videos on it but the best ones have been removed along with some other discoveries

Had the slates been used on a roof?
Good to have you back. Missed your vids as they are nice and relaxed - so to speak. Are you going to France to commission the sculpture ?.

Who is the singer? The art is amazingly simple, yet the look is inspired. Thanks for sharing.

Incredible
Beautiful creations I enjoy watching your process. I've not seen you glue any pieces together, don't you glue things together?
Thanks Terri. I use all sorts of methods of securing the sculptures. I do prefer to leave a little mystery!!
I’ve even found a place for $3 used roof slates if I pickup. Just want to try once.
Best of luck with it Fred! Happy chipping!

Thanks Susan! Of course I make the occasional mistake. No one's perfect!! I have left a few in 😉
Fascinating process of shaping the pieces. Is there any use for the “crumbs” that are chipped off? If not, what do you do with the waste?
Hi Kathleen. I give it away to landscaping companies.
@@jamesparkersculpture Lucky them! Really enjoying your videos. Glad GP recommended you.
Hello. your work is very beautiful. Do you glue them together with glue at the finishing stage?
Gorgeous!!
Thank you 😊
do you end up gluing it together? or is it free standing always?
Hi Tamie - in this case I fixed it together at various points. Others are dry.

Just wondered if you could use the lower slate as a template? Or is it already glued?

are the individual slates bound by an adhesive or something or is it all supported by gravity?
Yes - I secured each piece before transporting it.
Quick question are you able to build functioning torus stones by chance?
Hi, I'm not sure what you mean by 'functioning'?
Well the long and short of it, a torus stone is a donut shaped rock with a hole in the middle that generates magnetic and electromagnetic fields.
