Watching the process of James making this egg 1 year ago I was fascinated by the process and blown away at the finished result. I am now the proud owner of Creation and it has an amazing quality of appearing to be lit from within and in sunlight it is mesmerising. James is a genius.

As I was watching this video, my mind starts to go places of the , either impossible or too difficult, place and I was mulling to myself, how great a slate piece would be of a horse or a horses head. Your Egg Sculpture is amazing! Truly inspirational. You didn't mention how the glass pieces were bonded. Just FYI I use A-1100 Amino-Silane Solution Adhesive Pre-Treatment and HXTAL NYL-1 Epoxy Adhesive when bonding glass and need an optically water clear, super strong bond. Loctite AA 349 UV Cured adhesive works well with clear glass too. Hope this helps and please keep up your excellent work!

Thanks James. Really enjoyed your explanations. Your sense of your work is dynamic and insightful. Love the way it is a beautiful sculptural form but also a means to play with light. That you create beauty out of ‘scraps’ is wonderful too. Do you remember the plastic bag dancing in the wind in the film American Beauty? And the symbolism of the egg adds another layer again. So pleased it found an owner who understands and appreciates your work and your gift.

What a beautiful piece of art!
Really love how the light reflects in all those layers. 😍
Seeing you making this glass ornament makes me think about the huge glass layered ornament that stands in my city Zwolle, the Netherlands.
Maybe you've heard about it. It's the archangel Michaël. It stands in the city centre. The glass were it's made out of stands as a square in front of the hospital. You can clearly see the contour of the angel cut out of it.
Maybe also an idea for you? So you have a positive and a negative sculpture?
I put the wiki page link down below. It's in Dutch, hopefully it will translate to English.
    nl.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glazen_Engel
