    I didn‘t know that such tape existed, and the front of my boots are pretty banged up already. I just applied the tape I bought following your video. The advantage of having huge feet and therefore large boots is, it’s less curved in front and I managed without wrinkles! 🤓

    Love all of these informative videos. I love the videos with exercises and how to execute the moves, but I also really appreciate the ones regarding skate care. Especially for people like me that are new to skating and don’t know that things like skate tape exist 😄

      I am so glad to hear that! I know they aren’t viewed as much as my on-ice tutorials, but I still think it is good information to share. So glad to hear you like them. 🙂

    Is it easy to remove from the boot? im going to buy new boots and i want to secure them from the beggining. Will that tape leave any glue on my boots?

    Hi Julia, thank you for such a useful video, I love your videos, I've learnt a lot from you!❣ Is it easy to remove the tape after it's been a while on the skates? Does it leave sticky patches on the boots? 😘

      @@sissistar9877we keep the skates taped always at practice and remove it for competitions. And maybe do a retape for summer practice season. I had to buy tape in a pinch and this left a residue! Trying to figure out how to get it off now in a car on our way to a competition.

    How does skate tape compare to just wearing a boot cover? Is it a lot more protective? Thanks :)

    I use electrical tape because it's easier to find. I even cover part of the sole because it gets scratched from lunges.

    Hi! I didn't know skate tape existed at all. Could it also protect inline figure skates? I just got my first pair two weeks ago but I don't have any indoor place to practice at. So I was planning on putting multiple skate covers over the boots, to protect them from the concrete outside but I'm really scared that it won't be enough. Do you think skate tape could also help, in case I fall? Or would it only be useful for skating on the ice?

    • @CoachJulia
      @CoachJulia  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Skate tape is pretty thick, It would definitely add a layer of protection, but I can’t say if it would 100% protect them.

    Hey Julia, love your videos! :) A couple of us still wonder if the tapes leave sticky patches on the boots once you remove them? Does the answer differ for leather/non-leather boots? How long can we keep the tapes on the boots before that happens? It would be great to hear your answers. :) @coachjulia

    Why do some coaches frown upon over-the-boot tights? I think they look dorky and would rather use boot covers. Are over-the-boot tights a safety hazard? Can a skater's blade get caught in over-the-boot tights?

    • @CoachJulia
      @CoachJulia  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I actually like over-the -boot tights sometimes, because they make a skaters leg line look good, whereas boot covers tend to shorten the leg line, visually. But some coaches prefer the classic under-the-boot tight always, so that the boots show. could really tell you whey they have that preference.
