- In this video I give my brief thoughts on the new gameplay trailers released for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves! Rock Howard, Terry Bogard, Hotaru Futaba, Griffon Mask, & New Character Preecha are all shown, and I take a look at some of the combo system too. This graphic style with the heavy shades gives it a very distinctive and cool look, I LOVE IT...and Tizoc looks BADASS, can't wait to see Freeman
The next gen progression of MvC3 art style, that Capcom abandoned in MvCI.
I never thought I'd be excited for an SNK game honestly. Never played them before KOF15 and I ended up losing interest kind of fast.
But this looks so good. So much more fluid, much easier on the eyes, and I'm excited to try Preecha
The style looks fire
2025 fighting games looking great already
Nice that they're putting in English VA into the game, its good to have options
Looks awesome, I'm super hype for this to come out. Love SNK games. The artstyle is mad good too, keeping super stylized will help the game age well compared to their other 3D fighters.
What? Bro who cares? Just sounds like your saying it's good that it's not realism which makes no sense because realism fighters are extremely popular regardless of "aging well" when
Example: MvC3 (PS3) vs MvCI (PS4)
SNK can't afford to compete in the same path of Capcom, NRS, Bandai Namco, even Tecmo. It's important to come up with some kind of stylish look to their games to make them stand out and minimize direct comparisons which will be always unfavorable to SNK's side. Going full cell shading won't work either because it will bring up (negative) comparisons with Arcsys games, that SNK probably isn't capable of matching as well.
@CrystalMang0 Just say you don't understand what was said. It's OK. Stylized shit for SNK helps keep things fresh and interesting for its visual language, that's what will elevate your artstyle and presentation in the long run, SF6 does the same and so does the new samsho compared to KOF XIV. What are you even trying to say with your dumb comment lol
Saw Preecha and went to Joe had a kid or a disciple and either way good for Joe.
And the art so far looks like a sick mix of KoF 15 and Ultimate MvC3.
God, I miss some good ass Fatal Fury! It's time to get interested again. City of the Wolves is lookin good!
Superb game. I can't wait to see more next month during EVO Japan.
Greetings from Mexico.
Dude I love that style art man I can't wait. Hopefully it don't change to much
The reveal trailer looked rougher, so the tendency is that it gets polished further if this is still only early '24.
This is probably the result from more experience with 3d graphics first of all, and the earnings of KOF 15, and FF having a much smaller roster to work on.
Fatal Fury City of the Wolves Gameplay is stylish fire awesome, English and Japanese VA confirmed to be awesome, and newcomer Preecha is here let's gooooooo! I'm Rev it Up for 2025.
Great to see the graphics are improving. And might improve even more until next year. This is probably the result from more experience with 3d graphics first of all, and the earnings of KOF 15, and FF having a much smaller roster to work on compared to KOF.
This the first time they had english voice acting? Shit, i gotta support this now.
Edit: I like Tizoc's voice. Basically how I imagined him anyways. Also, "she's a researcher and a muay Thai fighter?" This is SNK. After the 16 year old sumo expert, Chang and Choi, fuckin team Ikari Warriors just kinda being soldiers on the side, nothing should surprise you.
There was KOF MI on the PS2. I don't remember if the Samsho 360 game had dub. But anyways those would be the only cases in SNK history.
@@carlosaugusto9821 MI was that odd 3D king of fighters, wasn't it?
It's okay. From what I hear, nobody wants to remember Sen.
Finlay The Rock is come back to Fatal Fury.......🎉🎉
What The Rock is cooking!!🎉🎉
Thanks for posting this, Spooky. You holding the FGC up! This is only a reveal trailer... and honestly only thing i can ask they change is dialing down the splashy colors abit PLEASE😂
....This doesn't have to be SF6 part 2 (BUUUUT i do want a Quest mode like SF6 for GMotW2, like an open World SouthTown!)
I doubt SNK is able to afford something of that level of World Tour. But if it's a similar approach of single player mode, and no longer the same plain style from the 90s, I can say that will be an important achievement for the devs. The point is that SNK is not familiar with these things because they became practically a retro company in sense of sticking to the old school style of making fgs. Remember that the games pushing single player innovations in the classic era were SF, TK, SC and MK (3d era). SNK never bothered, sadly.
Like, this game could get a menu based navigation style instead of 3d free roaming style. That seems affordable for SNK. And if that mode is well done I can call it a great step for the devs... Finally went out of a comfort zone of literally decades.
Now with much richer companies and with an actual background of fg single player innovations like Capcom, Bandai Namco and NRS I must not be as forgiving with the content package level. But of course, if SNK doesn't try anything of that kind then they deserve to be criticized imo... Because even a point and click-like mode or visual novel-like mode is actually affordable. There's no way to forgive a recent game (that is not indie) that doesn't work harder on story modes.
So far so good!
They said the game will be playable at evo japan
Im curious to see the approach in story mode. Garou had among the best narrative experiences in an arcade fg context so the sequel has the duty of keeping the story standards, even if it can't be executed with long elaborate cutscenes like the mainstream games. Also i doubt SNK is able to afford something like the SF World Tour. But if it's a similar approach of single player mode, and no longer the same style from the 90s, I can say that will be an important achievement for the devs. SNK is not familiar with these things because they became practically a retro company in sense of sticking to the old school style of making fgs. Now even though im willing to be forgiving about what SNK comes up with, if nothing fresh and fleshed out is done in story mode then they deserve to be criticized imo... Because there are options of more interactive and engaging approaches that are less expensive than what the mainstream games do, and that seems affordable. Also the FF roster is small so there's less content to work on.
So they didn’t technically tone down hotaru’s super. But we got more explosions to cover it up and make it look more brutal. I’ll take it lol
too much ligthing effect to be honest, i liked the simplicity of the old garou, hope it still has mostly short combos like in the old one
To be totally fair Garou MOTW is over the top in special effects. The thing is that your judgement is mistaken probably because of a mistaken context thinking, or just a bad memory of the game in motion. That first case is very plausible because it's easy for someone to mistakenly put Garou side to side with early 00s fgs like MvC2, CvS1-2, GG, etc... based on the time of the person's experience with the game. But Garou is from 99, so it's a late 90s project and has to be compared to the standards of SFA3, SF3, KOF 98, Last Blade 2, etc.
So in that correct context Garou's special effects really stand out as an overdone style and an above average flashy special effect style. It's only below MvC1's special effects really. Then that style only became kind of tame compared to MvC2, CvS1-2 and GG (and this one became the champion of visual pollution).
This is dope but it looks to be a sequel to Garou and not Fatal Fury.
I dont see any lanes or line sway happening.
poor gameplay
Você nunca deve ter jogado Garou na vida, se tem uma coisa que não tem, é jogabilidade ruim, é uma das melhores jogabilidades da SNK, se não for a melhor
Poor opinion. The gameplay looks very fun.
