    I've had this on my wish list for quite some time. It would be a perfect companion for the utensil tin I received a few days ago that you featured last week. I love that set. Firebox stoves are genius. Love my larger one. Coffee cooked on a few little twigs is awesome!!! That cup is also on my wish list.

    I was asking myself the same questions when my stove arrived… Is a crooked? Is it bent? Why does it look so weird… So thanks for addressing that! Great review!

    I live this stove. Works verry well with the Trangia gas and Alkohol burner. Also with Fueltabletts and Charccoal. Its a bit quietter when you pack it between the Pad.

    I have the stainless steel one for about a year, its awesome. I can use biofuel, triox, esbits, gel or trangia.

    I've grabbed a 12 inch cinder block laying around as a stove. This is cool too, I have one similar to this. Good 2 go👍

    I have two of these in SS. Love them. I always utilize the Swiss Torch method ie. I baton a branch one inch smaller in diameter than the burn chamber into 4 sections placing them in the extreme corners of the chamber. Put my kindling/fire starter in the center gap w/ smaller sticks. Once going I just place additional wood on the fire from the top as frankly the "feeding ports" are cumbersome and it's no big deal to lift off your pot/cup to drop the wood on to the flames. Thicker sticks mean you don't have to feed it a new stick every 30 seconds, either.The case is very much worth the price. Inside the case I can also fit 1/2 book of matches, two "can't blow out" birthday candles and 1 small fire starter. For a wind block I fold down some HD aluminum foil to the size of the case and affix it w/a ranger band. I use the carbon felt as a pot/handle gripper as to use it as a wind block is cumbersome and not all that effective....try it with cold hands and you'll never get the spindles where you want them. This stove is a no brainer for 1/2 people. Another great vid. Thanks!

      Yeah I was thinking of trying that method out next just to test it out. Very cool!

    Pair this up with a Trangia spirit burner and a Firebox Fuel Plate and some solid fuel tabs and man you are covered for every single occurance in the field.

    I have one and they are well worth the money, you can carry in a pocket for a day hike and if there is a fire ban (happens here in the summer with dry conditions) I can use my alcohol stove

    I really like the fact that it's very compact. I have several types of wood burning stoves and others like 123 Svea, i try not to limit myself and i also consider this like a hobby.$50. Bucks? I can definitely consider it. Thank you

    I may have to get one of these as a birthday gift for myself next month. I like stainless steel but titanium is growing on me. Decision, decisions.

      I found the additional money for Ti to save 2 oz not relevant. Put the additional money into a ti or aluminum cup/pot. They will heat up faster than stainless steel and be lighter in your pack. This is a great stove but the fire box is very small. Reduce the size of the firebox and you reduce the amount of heat coming from it. Use this on a breezy 10 degree day and you will appreciate the quicker heating cups/pot, believe me.

      @@walkerone9833 OK, so now I'm considering what you said and I'm thinking of getting a 900ml pot either TOAKS or Timberbrother brand.

    • @45ACP_9mm
      @45ACP_9mm 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @DroopyWorm I chose the stainless steel and used the savings versus titanium to put towards getting a new knife which was the ESEE 6P (my first ESEE) and the small ESEE pouch to attach to the sheath.

    • @45ACP_9mm
      @45ACP_9mm 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @DroopyWorm It was a choice between the ESEE 4 or ESEE 6 but I chose the 6 because I have a few knives around the size of the 4 and the only knife I have close to the 6 is a BK Becker 2 but I will eventually (like for Father's Day) get the ESEE 4.

    • @45ACP_9mm
      @45ACP_9mm 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @DroopyWorm I use food grade mineral oil for all my carbon steel knives just in case I might need them for food prep. I have a Mora Craftline Basic 511 and a Mora Companion HD that I forced a patina on both knives using boiled white vinegar and I wipe them down with the mineral oil after every use and a heavier coat if I'm storing the knife.

    I'm a little late to the game with this Firebox Nano stove. Just ordered one. I think I saw someone using this with solid fuel tablets but I can't find the info. Is there an insert to use this with the fuel tablets? Also, is there a way to use this with wood pellets? To have all 4 fuel options would be great. Thanks for the video.

    • @Iridium242
      @Iridium242  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it would work with wood pellets easy, I have used it with fuel tabs as well

    Ever thought about talking about or reviewing firearms?

    • @Iridium242
      @Iridium242  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Having worked with firearms for years, I would love to, however youtube would either yank the videos or give me too many headaches. Every once and a while I do a gun video and did many of them years ago just now its not worth it due to the possibility of losing the channel. Kind of sucks but thinking about putting them on a different platform
