Here is a heads up. If you live in BC and seek help for depression..you will most likely not be allowed to get your firesrms licence..Nor will you likely get a transplant if you need one.
I'm not saying not to seek help.. but don't expect the system to help you.
Even when your doctor's fuck up and just start handing you a bunch of pills trying different combinations to see if it helps...instead of sending you to a shrink.

Society is there to help but once you get labeled as being nuts....you will be treated as being nuts first than a person.... Everything is kept on record..30 years later and you're still nuts not human

This couldn't be more disrespectful towards people with mental illness! It's just sad. This shallow, trite approach may work for Madison Avenue or selling a product, but this isn't a cold remedy. The ad trivializes a condition which can be so agonizing that the sufferer finds life unbearable and has to end it. I'm surprised you didn't throw in a few suicide gags. One of the reasons mental illness so isolating is that others do not even seem to want to understand it. The CMHA is supposed to be leading the way here! You wouldn't take a "light-hearted approach" to cancer treatment, would you, depicting people joking about chemo or losing their hair or throwing up? Wake up. PLEASE try something else, like people talking about their experiences. I promise you it would be a million times more effective, and respectful.

Yes. There are light-hearted ads about the importance of getting cancer checks.

just on an unrelated note, family doctors are hard to find when you move to a new place in BC and even walk ins are full most times.
that's probably one reason people don't get help unless it's a big problem.

I always find it a bit creepy to find comments I made 7 years ago!
