Very cool and thanks for showing it. It seems, the Plugin has still a little trouble with your arm, as the mask is flickering a few times.
Yeah it definitely was struggling with orange skin on red background.
Why shouldn’t I be using the free FCPX Scene Removal Mask? It’s free, and it gives more professional results. Am I missing something (apart the fancy name “Rotoscoping”, but I don’t think it’s worth this plugin price, per se!). Thank you, Joseph!
FCPX Scene Removal Mask?
Scene removal only really only works on locked off shots. Although scene removal might have worked better for my example, it doesn’t do as well with motion.
I Don't Know How This Compares to mRotoAI But Atleast You Can Buy It And Don't Have To Pay For a Dumb Subscription

So sad to see where we are today in FCP. Tools that just aren't ready for prime time and have no business being utilized in any professional video environment. My clients would laugh at the results of something like this. No knock on you Joseph. I would never kill the messenger.
I know what you mean. For many TH-camrs this is good enough, but if you’re doing any serious VFX work this would never fly, especially considering the pipelines most shops work in.
Good to see that people start to work on alternatives for mRotoAI without subscription! But RotoMatic feels more kind of a too expensive Beta Version at this point. It is a disease of our time to abuse customers for testing. Lets see what an update to version 2.0 will give us in the future or what other developers will do shortly ... I will wait for a better conclusion.
Subscriptions suck!! I prefer mRotoAI but refuse to $$$$$. Jenn Jagger did a comparison video and says VFX is a little better.

I have downloaded and been working extensively with this. In trial mode, after 1,000 frames, it stops working despite it being advertised as fully functional in trial mode plus the addition of a small watermark overlay. Do you know if this a limitation on the trial version, or is this frame limitation also in force in the paid version?
I didn’t run into that with the paid version. I’m not sure about trial limitations.
@@JosephSlinker I learned only after purchasing it that it will do max 2500 frames (according to FX Factory support) which is about a 3 minute clip. Great software but worthless given this limitation that other do not, such as mRotoAI, AI Background Remover and Keypr. So I contacted them, explained this, and they immediately gave me a refund back. Very good service and support, and I told them that when this limitation is removed, I will come back and buy it the same day, and I mean it.

Not worth $149 just to buy a only a simple rotoscoping tool (which doesn't even work that good) when, for $295, you can buy the entire editing software package of Davinci Resolve Studio, which not only has high precision Magic Mask rotoscoping but also all kinds of cutting edge editing capabilities, tools, transitions, color grading, etc. It's interesting that Final Cut Pro is so far behind the curve when it comes having a built-in rotoscoping tool. Its competitors have had it for years.
Agreed. I don’t enjoy editing in DaVinci, but it’s shocking how far FCP is behind the curve. Like if DaVinci added the full magnetic timeline I’d probably switch and never look back.
The results look pretty poor though
It looks poor at the start when he's small in the frame. Better when larger. Not a great example to show it off imo.

I wonder if this can also be used in Apple motion. (I don't use F.C.)
I got confirmation from the developer that they want to make it work in Apple Motion, but the they ran into technical issues that made it not possible for launch.

I've watched two videos now using this tool, both from people that I know are good with FCP, and they both are pretty poor results. I am not impressed with the quality of the results at all. This can't be a finished product... I expect better than this.
From my experience, and it seems like others, it really can't be your one and only roto tool. If you notice in my video, sometimes it does shockingly well, and other times it does shockingly poorly. I didn't want to edit out either so that people could get an accurate portrayal of how the tool works.

Mine doesn’t even mask it just turns sold red, can’t see anything, and the background sold black
Pointless so far hopefully Fxfactory reaches out to me for a fix or imma need that refund
It sounds like you’re using the wrong masking display options. Either way you should reach out to their support team.

Your arms are very close to the same color as the bricks, which is why the AI is having difficulty.
I imagine you're right, but it's still something people should be aware of before buying.
