This video is a recap of the "To The Flawless" story arc that takes place in the Elysium Everlasting Open World. The story is a direct continuation of Chapter 3 of the Elysian Realm, and it revolves around Elysia's secret identity as the 13th Herrscher of the Previous Era and the newly found threat of the current Era Herrscher of Corruption. If you haven't played it, or are not familiar with the story of ER, I recommend this video where I do a short recap of the whole ER storyline.

Of the 13 Flame-Chasers that once fought in the Previous Era, only 2 of them are currently alive. Oh, and both Sakura and Rin are dead. *AGAIN.*
There is still Griseo who went with the Ark. Her status is unknown but she is most likely still alive.

It should be added that Elysia isn't reconstructed from Mei's memory alone
The 4 crystal flowers' purpose is to keep the precious memories of the final banquet where she revealed herself as a Herrscher, and they were held by Flamechasers I to V (the only invited guests of the banquet who actually came)
And so those crystal flowers hold essential data to recreate Elysia as HOH

u are such a real one for this. i wanted to play the elysium everlasting story SO BADLY but all of mei's lines kept skipping so i eventually gave up :( that's in addition to honkai impact's already kind of difficult to understand storyline. this is so comprehensive and really helped me to grasp how meaningful the story of elysium everlasting actually is
It's literally a recap and yet somehow I still end up crying wtf, honkai has a vice grip on my emotions
Oh, so that's why Elysia had to sacrifice herself! Her death allowed future Herrschers to retain their human side, how did I miss that?!
Even after playing through the story very carefully, there will always be moments where the story gets overloaded with info and a bit too complex to follow. By the time the next story chapter drops, I have already forgotten what happened in the previous part; thus, the story coherence is lost. Thanks for briefly summarizing the past year's story content into literally 20 minutes!
As for the part at 13:57, it's not the first time they pulled something like this, they did the same for HoV when they had you play as Sirin against Mei, Bronya and Teri. How to make you particularly hate a character? By having you witness that character destroying what you hold dear from their point of view. It worked when you were forced to try to kill your friends of past 7 chapters and it works for Griseo. Why Griseo though? Because out of all the FC's she's the only one that has the innocence and "must protecc" factor. Even with all the fangirling over Kalpas or Su, having their death described in graphic detail would have nowhere near the impact as if it was a LITERAL CHILD (not to mention all other FC's are seasoned fighters so them dying kind of comes with the territory). It's that "OH NO YOU DIDN'T!" moment that advances Herrscher of Corruption from clear villain to personal enemy, that you, the player, will from now on hunt to the very ends of reality. It's very similar to Otto, the game and all the media surrounding it make it very clear why you should hate him, it's not just "he bad".
The writers know exactly what they're doing, it's all deliberate. 😂😭

I can not tell you how grateful I am for this summary. No where on the internet can you find any good summaries of any chapter higher than like 22 and this saved me hours of walkthrough videos so I can play chapter 34 without doing the previous ones for that sweet sweet free HoO ❤❤❤❤

From what we know and have been told by Kevin and Dr. Mei, there won't be a Herrscher like Elysia in CE. She was an anomaly in the Honkai that was not supposed to happen.

While I love the whole of ER, I feel like there were some inconsistences. For one, Elysia didn't know she was a herrscher; she might have had an inkling that she was different from everyone, but she didn't know for sure until way later, which makes some of her actions confusing to me, The biggest culprit being: Mobius' false memories about Elysia's Mantis surgery; Why did she trick Mobius? She likely didn't know she was a herrscher at this point. There was also 2 instances with Kevin where it seems his opinion of Elysia gives off a completely different impression compared to chapter 31. One was Kevin and Elysia talking and Kevin saying that if he knew her real intentions, they could've had a different ending and that it was a mistake to trust her. The other, Kevin is saying that Herrschers have never fought for humanity, and that she(likely Elysia) wasn't an exception.
Setting all that aside though, great job as always, love your videos.👍
Vail point here. Yeah, there are some inconsistencies in the ER dialogue, especially from the older updates. My guess is that they were still working on the story at that point and had only some vague ideas about how they will execute it. For me, the retcons are not that many to negatively impact the experience. Honkai always had a lot of retcons so I'm kinda used by now. The whole part with Mobius' having false memories about Ely's surgery is not even canon anymore, since Ch29 clearly shows that she did have a meta-morph surgery.
@@HomuLabs yea, that's how I made sense of it too, they had to have a sudden shift in story direction, because Kevin's words just straight up don't make sense. They were pretty minor honestly, I still love ER, but many shower thoughts were spent trying to make sense of Kevin's words.
I've heard that before but I honestly don't remember them mentioning her surgery. Do you have a rough idea of where that was mentioned in ch 29? I'm genuinely curious.
It was during one of the flashbacks. After Elysia saw Kevin depressed over Himeko's death, she went and asked Mobius to make her into a MANTIS. At that time Kevin was the only one and she wanted to make him feel like he's not alone. There are only a few lines at the end of the scene on a black screen, but they pretty much imply that she had a surgery since at that time she was not aware that she was a Herrscher.
@@HomuLabs Yea, that doesn't even ring a bell tbh. Last time I remember Kevin showing emotion was Senti's arc I believe where he breaks down in front of Fu Hua. That was so long ago, because Elysia wasn't even a character then. So I don't know how I don't remember this unless my game skipped it. Thank you, I think I have an idea where this scene is.
EDIT: found the scene, I remember before and after it, but yea I still don't remember the scene with Mobius. Weird, My game must have glitched somehow.
I JUST found your channel and I gotta say: I’m surprised you don’t have more subscribers! Your content is really funny bit also very comprehensive. You explain the story and it’s twists extremely well and your theories are always well thought out. I love both Honkai and Genshin and overall I think the stories are equally complex and confusing, bit since Genshin gets a lot more coverage on TH-cam I find myself only ever confused at the pseudo science stuff of Honkai. This is a great recap material! It would be great too to have a recap material of the same format covering the entire story too, because I think there's not enough people or sources covering the early story part of the game too.
I agree with this too, on early part of the story telling (in-game) was very weak and wasn't clear enough to understand, it had to rely too much on manga in early game, just to get much more context and basic understanding of what happen in game. that's what makes new players having difficulty to approach to the story.

Basically, becoming a "human Herrscher" in the current era is a possibility, but not a guarantee - just look at Herrscher of Ice for one

Should be added that it's because the tool (Kevin Killer, forgot the number) she used to kill those two has a "backdoor", and she's activating the backdoor to restore those two while leaving a part of herself to help Pardo there
Also gonna add that back when Evil-V (I'm gonna call her that way) cooperated with HOC, while she did help HOC kill the "biggest threats to HOC in the realm", she did so by using the aforementioned Kevin Killer, basically denying HOC their precious data and allowing Kevin and Pardo to be brought back

Kinda an unpopular theory but:
Elysia (as Herrscher of Human:Ego) from the Previous Era wasn’t actually dead, it’s just she only disappear in a thin air in the Final Banquet (but not entirely dead), while covering up with the entire event of ‘Kevin killed Elysia’ by MOTH or some, so she is alive hiding in the current era, and it became an opportunity to delete herself, HoC and the entire Elysian realm.

With the 2 episodes of the flame chasers living somewhat normal lives, this information is so damn confusing. Are they all dead, simulation, and/or reality? Someone, please tell me what happens with the 13 after this!
Kevin and Hua are still alive. Griseo is presumable alive but she disappeared with the Ark a long time ago and nobody knows where she is now. Su kinda died but his consciousness was approached by a higher being so we don't really know what is happening with him right now. The rest of them are dead.
The Sims from the Elysian Realm are, like the name suggests, just simulations of the real ones. They are not technically real, and they disappeared together with the Elysian Realm to stop the Herrscher of Corruption.
The Flame Chaser anime happens in an alternate reality that has nothing to to with the main story.

I respect your opinion but I disagree. The whole arc ties very much into the whole story and explains some crucial plot points that people have been wondering about for ages, as well as sets up necessary information to understand future story arcs. I get why people tend to say that ER is filler, because they seem to tie the story to the characters and not the events. So the lack of the main cast gives of this impression. But from a lore perspective, ER is one of the most important and essential arcs.
