Man, that old axe has got some miles on her, but she still delivers just like the old man. You’ll also see him sportin’ an Epi Casino with a Vibrola trem. All us old guitar slangers still think we can hang, at least until we play the video back. Elvin’s got the pedigree, and the legit chops to pull it off. He’s been doin it from the beginning of electric blues and blues rock, and I’ve been diggin’ his licks from the git-go! Rock on, Elvin!

I seen Elvin Bishop in '76 at The Ivanhoe in Chicago. That song was all over the radio then, AM and FM. His rig was the Gibson ES335 and a Silverface Fender Champ amp! That was it! The amp was miked into the PA system. Mickey and Elvin sounded just like the recording. Glad he's still got it, good to see it! Kim Simmonds of Savoy Brown still tours and sounds great, too.

I've just been bingeing on Elvin's back catalog lately. Raisin' Hell was the album that made a fan out of me back in the late 70's. Got to see that band play in their heyday and they just blew the doors off. Elvin knew how to throw down in concert like few others could. So nice to seem him still jamming but it's bittersweet. God Bless Mr. Bishop.

Later on I learned the source of the guitar lick that I loved almost as much as the vocal in the song. I saw Mickey sing the song at a small venue in 95......he killed it.

Wily Jordon one of best friends in the world. He nails this song with his magical voice. He's got a range like Aretha and loves doing this song that was top forty when he was a young teenager.

I think Elvin Bishop opened up for the Rolling Stones for the Start Me Up tour 1981 at Jack Murphy stadium in San Diego California. I took the Amtrak from San Jose to get there and we were in the bubble car and I had my guitar and we were singing stones and Beatles songs smoking pot,And the other passengers were buying me beers cause I had my acoustic guitar. It was a singalong stoner ride on Amtrak! Can’t do that anymore :-)
George Thorogood what is the other opening act.

Saw the US Tour opening shows at JFK Stadium in Philly and Thorogood was the opener, we somehow hoisted a case of beer up in a cooler from the outside with a rope

Saw him open for Dave Mason when I was a kid at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. The Raising Hell tour. Late 1970s. Poor Dave Mason never had a chance after Elvin was through with the crowd.
