stumbled onto this. Didn't know about Jools Holland & band. But I seriously appreciated their love for my country's music via legendary Toots Hibbert, and their skills with the rhythms!! Salute you, the one & only. R.I.P. legend. Been following you since my childhood. Never forgotten.
Jools Holland was part of Squeeze, an excellent English band, in the late 70s/early 80s, worth checking out. Later became a bandleader, MC and general advocate of any kind of good music you could name.
Toots with Jools Holland & his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra - what a wicked and groovy combination! RIP brother and thank you for the music and your inspiration!
Toots Hibbert and the Mytals. 54-46 was my number. These performances with Jools Holland are great!. Robert Palmer, if anyone remembers him, covered Pressure Drop, and made it the title of that album. But you gotta admit the Mytals were the 2nd best Reggae band ever, after Bob Marley and the Wailers (who I saw live). RIP Toots Hibbert and Bob Marley.
RIP Toots, the lord's pressure just dropped when you arrive at the gates. Thank you for your love of all, your spirit in the music. You are and always will be what is good in the world....
A true legend of Jamaican music. From the foundation up too the present day, still going strong...Respect to another legend, Rico Rodriques, horn section for Jools Holland...

It will be my last day if I can meet Frederich Hibbert, Jerry Mathias and Raleigh Gordon.I still debate the fact Toots is a Jamaican. Why this fluency in British English and his culture of not wearing his hair in dresdlocks.
