GF was in a few shows like North&South where, honestly, thought she was dull. Bare Essence and others. Francis never took off. Then forced back to GH, where Geary dominated. I liked her on "The Note" and thought she blossomed again with early Cassadine stuff. Heard she had a drinking and drug problem. Wonder if Geary hooked up with Liz Taylor to further his career but he rushed back to GH and financial security. Strange that an inferior actress like Demi Moore became a huge star when these two couldn't.

I know it's been mentioned in other GH vids from the 70s here, but gotta mention it myself the amazing quality of these classic GH tapes/vids. Seriously some 90's GH vids on here aren't even half this good. Same goes for my own GH VHS tapes from the 90s. So glad I found these here so also wanted to say thanks for sharing.
Watching this reminds me of sitting at a table in the jam-packed Student Center with my friends , watching GH . I had such a CRUSH on Scotty ! All the other girls were crushing on Luke ! What fun times !
Kin Shriner (Scotty) was so handsome. He was working so hard and yet trying to be a devoted husband to Laura. Soon Laura chose Luke over Scotty. What a storyline. Fantastic writers and excellent acting by the cast.
Thanks for the Upload 👍 !! I STILL to this day. Have NO idea what Laura saw in Luke !! XD Funny how this storyline would repeat itself on knots landing yes 7 years later when Douglas Sheehan played Ben Gibson was on that show. XD
Exactly. Scotty had every right to try to kill Luke when he found out. That's why despite how much I loved Luke I was cheering when Scotty put the beat down on him at Jennifer's wedding. He deserved it after all he had done to Laura.
Yes it shows the trauma of the rape and how confused Laura was. Genie Francis said she was confused too. She had to play Laura as a victim one minute and then as having feelings for her rapist as well. It must have really been tough considering Genie herself was only 17 in real life and not at all experienced with men. She had only one boyfriend at the time - Kin Shriner who ironically played Scotty.
I agree 1979 was outstanding, but I have to disagree with you just a tad bit. I think 1980 was just a phenomenal year for this show! The reason why I state this, is because there were other multiple storylines, that were taking shape such as the infamous scene with Tracy & Edward with the meds, Alan plotting to kill Rick & Monica, of course Luke & Laura on the run during that summer and the return of Heather Webber by the fall of that year. GH was so damn good during this period!
I agree with you Gloria Monty revitalized all the story lines and by then they were all cooking with gas. 1981 was my fave year because things just got even better.
Laura came in and sat down and started to space out but gathered herself. She did the same thing when Scotty found her letter to Luke but managed to pull herself out of it. Decades later she wouldn't be able to pull herself out of a chair. I wonder if that was good writing or happenstance.
It was a writing that drew off Laura’s history. She consistently acted like this in every decade. She’s a strong person, but mentally she does have these blackouts and breakdowns during very tough periods. At least she did. She had therapy and hasn’t had an episode since she woke up for good in 2008.
The suspense of this entire storyline kills me. Luke is tortured, he can'tstand what went down with Laura.. He's going to die one way or another. He is trying to hold it together for Bobbie. He is trying to leave Laura by saying goodbye. She is making moon eyes at him. He has to do something horrible. How he yells Laura with his head thrown back kills me. Dude is in a really bad spot. LnL Forever ♥️
Anne left GH in spring-ish 82. She did take Jeremy with her. She went to respite in the country with an aunt. She did get into some hot water at the hosp when she accused Dr. Bradshaw of malpractice. She was suspended but later reinstated. Anne did go a little "off the rails" as Carl puts it - after Jeff dumped her, which amounted to a few good drunks.. Nothing more. And I'm sure she was asked to leave due to her impending pregnancy. Don't think GH was ready for a virgin birth of their own. LOL
Again, I agree with you, GH was outstanding all throughout 1979 with those storylines you mention. But let's be honest, 1980 was just as outstanding, if not better. The beginning of 1981 for GH, started out with a good murder mystery (Diana Taylor's), but by the summer, yeah it was "over-the-top" with that stupid Ice Princess storyline (now that was choppy), plus the big let down of Alice Grant confessing to Diana's killing, when Heather Webber and all of them should have went on trial IMO.
The Ice Princess storyline was fabulous when it was about a statue stolen from a South African diamond mine. It was when the writers' strike hit over the summer that things got ridiculous...
I don't think she ever slept with him either. I will say if the show was trying to teach abstinence, then it probably worked, as a lot of girls might have thought they'd have their own personal Richard Dean Anderson and Doug Sheehan waiting at the door.
I agree. Joe never got Anne or Bobbie. Funny thing is he kinda ended up with Heather. She seduced him big time when he was trying to prove that she offed Diana. Ill never forget the seduction scene. Robin Mattson was quite the seductress back in the 80s lol. They burned up the screen. Sad thing is that Doug Sheehan didnt last that long on the show. He was a great actor. He shouldve at least lasted throughout the 80s.
I think they did a big scene about the sofa. Lesley found it at an antique or second hand store and fixed it up for Laura and Scotty’s apartment. Good times!! 👍🏻.
Alan was actually fairly intuitive here. While Edward thought it was that old sibling rivalry at first, even he had to concede Alan had a point about the money. This is such good stuff on TH-cam! I also want to know what happened to that pretty rifle Frank Smith said was going to be hidden behind the spotlight.
Exactly, Saint Anne takes 'saving yourself' to the extreme. I honestly don't remember if she slept with Jeff or not (most likely not). No wonder he went to Nevada and never looked back!
Yeah I'm not totally sure if she left without Jeremy. So if anyone knows for sure that would be great. The character went off the rails because of the breakup with Jeff, and did a lot of partying. Although I'm not sure what wild partying would have entailed for her or GH at that time. Maybe she stopped wearing pantyhose.
Right, the last I saw of her Jeff had just left for Nevada-that was March '81. I also subscribe to WeatherHebber and they're up to around June 81 so eventually that should cover it. No2Souls has some clips from 81 as well, by golly I will find Anne's exit lol
