I was wrong about the locking part having a magnet, the disk is solid steel and not magnetic with a spring, sorry for mistake and thank you for watching
Not true... October it will all be available...I hear your frustrations however it will be possible to get one..just be ready
Thanks for the review, Jerad! 🤗 ...Just to note, the lock is totally non-magnetic - it's a solid steel disc... The two magnets (one in the blade, and one in the handle) fire the blade, and double as a magnetic detent. But once you take those two magnets out like you did, the knife is not only manual, but also completely non-magnetic. ..Anyhow, thanks again man!
Oh OK thanks for the info
@@NeevesKnives Np man, appreciate it! :)
Did the severn preorders all get sent out?
@@pretentiousname01 Batch 1 Severns should all be out the door by the end of this month and we'll be sending several email notifications before they go out to give a heads up. 🤗
@@winterbladeco awesome. Eagerly awaiting. And it looks like im going to have to add another masterpiece to my wishlist
and VANAX!! that bastard! Brian is always stealing my interest. What a master.
Thanks Dom!! 🤗🍻
I’ve wanted to ask you if you ever thought of acid etching knives or multitools, I did a few and uploaded the videos and thought you’d be the guy to ask about dipping a wingman as I plan to do one in the following weeks I but wanted your opinion on the idea hope you get to read this 🙏
That sound...its magic
Love your videos also have you thought of doing any acid etching on knives or multi tools I have some videos of ones I’ve done and thought of doing it on my wingman and knowing you you have plenty to try it on as will I try In the following weeks but hope you get to read this 🙏
A very cool design.
Thank you for taking the time to show us..
Greatly appreciated..👊
Bryan! You are a mad man! Absolute genius! I don’t know how you do it.. just unreal.. just unbelievable.. possibly.. non human? I dunno.. definitely some sort of wizardry going on here.
Lol thanks Ry, appreciate it man! :D
@@winterbladecoVery unique designs.
You are a true craftsman..👊
@@brian041270 Thanks Brian!!
@winterbladeco love your creativity and coloring outside the lines. You keep it interesting for sure. I appreciate innovative engineering.
Thank you very much! :)
@@winterbladecoit’s truthful brother. Haters are out there and folks like me that appreciate your work are here too. Sometimes it’s nice to hear.
@@delaney3722 I appreciate it! 🙏🤗
Its a really cool knife, but I would much prefer matching scales.
Yeah. I put it on my calendar to be in line to pickup one of these in October. I hope there's enough inventory to let everyone who wants one to get one!!!
Amazing review , didn't mind that it went a little long since its such a unique knife that needs more demonstration
Man I cannot wait until October! I think this M-Fire is the one I’m looking forward to the most!
Ultra cool.
A magnet operated lock button would be neat too. Like, a steel mechanism with an attracting magnet to hold it shut, and an opposing magnet on the other side to give it the "springiness".
I'm in love with my Factor, stoked to get my Severn, now I'm gonna need one of these! Lol
Very cool knife he makes some amazing knives and innovative. Thanks for the share buddy
Yeah man, that's pretty cool.
Can't wait for this!!.. I have a quick sharpening question. When laying back an edge, do you sharpen 1st or does that just happen with the new edge geometry? Might be a stupid question but curious... tried to attempt freehand but never had a hair popping edge. Appreciate you brother and all the amazing content
Hopefully some manufacturer takes the initiative to make a magnetic out the front automatic. Just using the magnetic lock, kinda like a push button automatic. Even better if it’s a double action out the front. Never mind, somebody will probably mess it up by giving it a 3 inch blade lol
IMO I still like the Factor V1 the best
So fricken cool. It must be pretty difficult to OEM Winters' innovative designs
@NeevesKnives Could you do a sharpening how-to video using a basic stone (400/1000 grit)? I am afraid I destroyed the edge on my Spyderco Manix 2XL. Thanks as always!
Dude, how the hell does Brian Winters keep coming up with all these innovative designs that no one has ever seemed to think of before? And not a single one of his knives won “Most Innovative” at blade show……shame on them for giving it to a regular folding knife with an added corkscrew. Maybe no one has ever thought about that before? Oh wait, there have been folding n over with corks screws for DECADES! Maybe they don’t have the lever that rests on the top of the bottle for leverage, I’ll give them that. And that definitely makes it more innovative than A FUCKING DUAL ACTION OUT-THE-SIDE AUTOMATIC…..NOT!!!! Maybe Blade Show is run by the US Government? Favoring the big company over the little guy who has a far superior/game-changing product season right up their alley lol
Can't wait to see the variations and prices.. when's this preorder? My severn should be coming soon. Love my factor b3!!
What a beautiful knife
Science!! Lol, super awesome! Can't wait
I really like it. Love that there are people out here using their brains to make advancements and improvements to these tools we love.
As oreodave would proudly say..
ALL HAIL WINTERBLADE!!!
Looks cool but sadly will be passing this one up. I was hoping for a model that has been hyped since bladeshow.
Winterbladeco? Yes please 💪🔥
Hi, how are you? Do you have any videos talking about how you maintain your knives to prevent rust? I have three knives: Kershaw, Civivi, and Cold Steel. The latter doesn't even respond to emails. When I asked Kershaw about using mineral oil on the knife (since I live in Brazil and there's only one store that sells only Nano Oil, which is extremely expensive), they replied that it's best not to use any oil to avoid residue buildup. On the other hand, Civivi said, which matches the information in their manual, to apply a thin layer of oil (they leave the type of oil open). So, there isn't a consensus. I just don't want to worry about my knives rusting.
Winterblade is a genius
Looks like I found my new grail.
Somebody had relations with that flyer. Rough. I get it. ……Actually I don’t exactly. I’m more finesse with a good flyer. Slow…maybe lazy. Not tentative…maybe more hard to get. A good truck flyer can look new a year in. Now..there was a cool drum machine/sampler flyer that I spilled coffee on. A least that’s what I say. Sara was out and I was by myself for a week. That is a highly desirable knife. Cheers.
Sadly it will be another knife you can't get a hold of except on the secondary market. I hate drops with limited preorders. Most annoying way to do it.
BiG FACTS!🤦♂️🤷♂️
I hear ya. It's like if you don't know the secret handshake you ain't getting close to owning one. However I do understand he can only make so many, I'm sure money limits his runs. Oh well
@@nealjohnson8309 But it shouldn't. If you can pay for a preorder you should be able to get one. I understand the limitations depending on who's making the knife ie one person or a small company. But after so long you should up your ability to produce. Especially if your knives start to become insanely popular.
His drops stay open for a couple months. Plenty of time to get one
You making stuff up? It’s not hard if you pay attention and just pre order.
holy smokes this is friggin sweet
Thanks for sharing bro
Probably going to skip this on. Would rather save the coin for the darkfire oft.
I will be on that pre order list as soon as it opens.!
I like when both side match
I have a Swiss pocket knife. I can no longer open it as my finger nails just bust apart.
I just wish they’d use other blade shapes
How do I get a free one cause if I buy another one the wife might use it on me
Besteck vs we knife co
3:25 stormtrooper edurtion! 😂😂😂
@@jamesgoodlet6554 that shoulda been the title lol
Bang
Best reviewer in the knife game
If it ain't available, I ain't interested
Its knice and I love vanax, but we wont be able to even get one unless its a second hand deal(+%250) . Sucks and im not studying that game shi*
Painted titanium? Seems kind of a waste of using Ti.
@HopsAndLead well if you want white titanium then that's the only way, I guess he coulda tried to find white carbon fiber then do ti black
Can he do a knife with a tip?
He has, but I'd like to see more
@NeevesKnives congratulations on the ur knife man I hope the best for u and ur family. Dig the content. 👍
I just wanna know if i can buy in WA
Cool knife but I don't think Vanax is that good.
The biggest issue I see here is that magnets are brittle generally and having the lock mechanism interact with it seems like a recipe for disaster
some people only look for issues, that’s why we can’t have nice things
The lock disc kinda looks like a magnet, but it's actually a solid steel disc - so the lock is completely non-magnetic.
The (two) firing magnets are housed in steel and next to impossible to break while in the knife (even during drop tests etc they're safe and sound)...
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! 🤗🍻
Some of the stuff you’re doing really doesn’t seem genuine anymore, stop forcing weird facial expressions in the thumbnail, just be yourself like you used to.
That blade is a crap shape though shame.
Star Wars kinda sucks.
This knife on the other hand, does not!
Am I the only one that thinks the Winter Blades knives are a bit gimmicky? I mean i understand why they’re interesting, but I just don’t get the hype
Yeah I agree. For edc they’re probably fine, but for hard work I don’t think they’d be able to hold up.
imagine dropping that thing on hard ground and suddenly it's not working anymore. Magnet is very brittle.
Gotta justify the price.
@jkurtzz The majority of my knives are primarily non-magnetic... Springs and magnets function differently, which means that you can do some things with magnets that you can't with springs - and vice versa. So my approach is that I use magnets when I think it offers some sort of benefit over springs... So for example, in the case of the M-Fire, once you get the timing down you can easily "swing" the blade closed without having to "push" it closed like you do on a coil or leaf spring auto.. Another benefit in this case is that the two firing magnets "double" as a detent to keep the blade (very) securely closed.. ...Anyhow, just thought I'd share! 🤗🍻
@@winterbladeco ouch haha wasn’t expecting a direct comment. I’m definitely intrigued by your designs. Truthfully I’m a frame lock guy. I have a some otfs and grav knives, but the bulk of my collection are frame locks. If I had more of a fascination with the mechanical aspects of creating something like the Severn I would probably have picked one up, but I just gravitate the other direction. Potentially if I ever get bored of the more traditional style locking systems I could see myself experimenting with some of the more funky mechanisms. Glad to see your active in the community it kind of makes me want to buy one of the tamer models like the mirage just for the heck of it lol.
Cool design... Too bad this us just another hipster brand more focused on creating inorganic scarcity/demand so only people perpetually online will ever be able to buy one without paying the absured secondary market prices. The internet has RUINED hobies...
All of my launches so far have been unlimited preorders, except for the very first... This includes the Factor B2, Factor B3, Mirage, and Severn.
But from here forward we're gonna mix things up by doing some in stock drops also...
The benefit of unlimited preorders like we've been doing is that everybody who orders gets a knife, but the drawback is a long wait.
The benefit of an in stock drop is no long wait, but the drawback is that they're always limited. "How" limited depends on things like cashflow/budget, and estimated demand for a particular model (which can be very hard to predict).
Cheers!
