- Finally we are going to talk about a show I hold dear from my childhood, Unfabulous! With the amount of iconic live action Nickelodeon Shows at the time, Unfabulous unfortunately may have just been buried in the background from the early 2000's era.

I didn't give this show a chance in the beginning, but I grew a soft spot for the series as time went on. I appreciate that Addie's singing felt like a real teen girl singing instead of the more polished pop star sound. It gives a sincere vibe instead of a soundtrack to sell to the audience.
This was MY SHOW. Addie Singer is the reason why I picked up journaling.
Oh wow, I'm just realizing 2 of the 3 main casts members went into the Arrowverse:
-Geena became Linda Park/Dr. Light in The Flash
-Zac became Painkiller in Black Lightning

Never realized until now how underrated it was cause I watched it all the time, to the point I could even tell what season it was just from the color grading. But yeah, I loved this show. It was just so slice of lifey without any cheap gimmicks like being a secret pop star, or a secret psychic. Just kids going through adolescence. Looking back, it was very refreshing
I love and miss Unfabulous. Especially the songs she would write about her life at the end of each episode. I was excited when they brought it back to TeenNick for a while a few years back until they took it off again. I wish they would return shows like Unfabulous and How to Rock (another underrated show I really enjoyed) to their TeenNick schedule. It feels like they're not really doing much with the channel anymore aside from Nick Rewind. How cool would it be for them to rebrand the whole channel just for old classics including those from the early 2000s?

There's something so wholesome about teen girls writing songs about there feelings. One of my favorite parts of watching Hannah Montana and that one episode of Bernie Mac when Vanessa did the same.

This show really was unlike most things aired around it’s time. I remember always wishing it got more attention than it did because of its unique cast,character development and the stories told
Yes this show is completely iconic! I rewatched as an adult not too long ago!! I grew up with Emma Robert’s hilarious acting since she’s just a little bit older than me. I loved seeing her go from playing awkward characters in Unfabulous and Aquamarine to playing the mean girl bad bitch in AHS and Scream Queens.
This show was legendary, Nick had so many bangers back then i feel bad seeing the stuff the kids today have to watch

Unfabulous was great I really loved the songs and the dream sequences were honestly very unique to the show itself. Both the songs and the sequences helped you view life from Addie's perspective. Although I don't think any reboot would be in order I would love more conversations about this show. Great vid

I remember watching this show! Anyone else remembers the "episodes that ends with Addie singing "kidney-shaped lagoon?" That scene is burned into my mind for reasons I can not even begin to explain.
That's the only memory I have of it. Her mom is trying to sell a house and can't think of a way to describe the pool's shape that's appealing to buyers. Resolved when Addie yells "Mom! Lagoon!" and the mom is like "YES! THANK YOU!". I didn't know wtf a lagoon was but my little 10 or whatever year old self was like "ah yes a lagoon, much better than a kidney shaped pool. Genius"

A few months ago, I found myself thinking about kidney-shaped bodies of water lol I figured out that it had something to do with Unfabulous, but could not figure out how!
This show deserved so much more respect. Was just watching a episode on TH-cam recently and still love it
I actually remembered and really enjoyed Unfabulous, but I could also tell at the time that it was getting majorly overshadowed by other programs at the time.

*wow* this one unlocked a deep-seated memory for me!! I remember finding an acoustic guitar in my basement and wanting desperately to learn how to play it because of this show. I would just sit around with a guitar on my lap pretending to be Addie.
This was my favorite show and Emma Roberts is still one of my favorite actresses till this day.
I still remember trying to copy her first day to school look when i was in my first year in middle school, the episode were she joined a girls band and had a silly cool flower pink guitar, pg-13 song and who can forget the two finale episodes? !

While I remember liking this series, I sadly don't remember much of it. It might have gotten buried underneath all of the reruns of other live action series around that time, even with it getting a three season run. Hearing that cover of the opening theme provided a nice rush of nostalgia though.
This show is very underrated and I remember watching this every Sunday then reruns on weekdays. Even TeenNick reran this show. Folks are sleeping on this show.
Finally someone talking about Unfabulous! When ever I see one of the actors from this show that isn't Emma Roberts I just go " Oh my gosh its Unfabulous" and everyone is always confused. This was one of my favorite shows growing up
Geena is Anna in The Vampire Diaries and Lucy in Big Time Rush and she was in iCarly too and Zack is Chuck Clayton in Riverdale
The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo would be a nice one to do next! That show was really good. And it is a definite forgotten gem.

It's funny how as soon as you posted this, I thought, "is he reading my mind?" I was thinking why this show just feel off the face of the Earth. It was good and felt real for its time almost like another As Told By Ginger.

Agreed. It was like the girl version of Ned's Declassified, but with older humor. Ned was epic, don't get me wrong, but the humor was quirky and odd. He helped me through middle school, but I felt the target audience was younger. Unfabulous was more serious and definitely tried to appeal to kids the same age as the characters. It was perfect for me at age 12.
I love Unfabulous. Another show I miss being on TV. I've never even forgot about this show even one bit. I used to watch it all the time. I was in my 20's when it aired. I'm 38 now, soon to be 39 and I still love this show. I do feel so bad the show gets so much hatred. I wish they'd release it on DVD as "The Complete Series."📀 I have the GameBoy Advance game and the CD too.💿

I definitely remember this show and I also remember faintly watching snippets of it. I wasn't a part of the targeted age group and it looked boring to me, so maybe that is why I did not watch it often or was not too interested in it. But I always loved the theme song, and after watching this review, I wish I appreciated the show more.

I'm glad to know this show exists. I used to watch it on Teen Nick after school. But I was not the age group, I was born 2001, so these were reruns.
I used to watch this over and over as a kid on Netflix and I remember being devastated when one day I searched it up and it had disappeared! I was thinking about it and how it was one of my favourite shows when younger and the memories I had of it and I am happy to inform you I was just as obsessed with it as you are :)

the show ran from when i was ages 2-5 so it's one of those shows i barely remember, but all the characters look familiar and i definitely know i liked the show when i used to watch it.

Sue Rose is responsible for three of the greatest kid/teen shows of all time. They're all totally underrated. UnFabulous is the one that aired most recently, yet it seems to be the least talked about. It made my day seeing a video on this show!
I’m glad someone ,is speaking for un fabulous , this used to be my favorite show on Nick made me fall in love with Jordan Calloway still to this day , I’m glad that the cast members are doing great. Seeing them on different tv roles .

I watched this show 5 or 6 years ago oddly enough nick teens was airing it in the middle of their constant zoey 101 rampage. i really love this show for being nostalgic but don’t remember much (kinda want to revisit now) and the opening is a banger. Glad you made this video, haven’t heard many talk about this show

I really loved Unfabulous when I was young and still love the theme song. I liked that Addie had braces and had trouble fitting in and I loved her songs and both her friends and always thought she was cute. I remember the crossover with Megan and Addie dressing up Josh while he sleeps lmao.

(This restriction also applied to Nick's other live-action scripted series in the mid-to-late-2000s, namely _Drake & Josh,_ _Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide,_ _Zoey 101,_ _Just Jordan,_ _The Naked Brothers Band_ and _iCarly;_ all these shows either borrowed pop songs to use as opening themes or had their theme songs sung by actual recording artists or bands.)

unfabulous was my favorite nick show along with ned's declassified. these two shows as well as Zoey 101 all had new episodes on Sundays, and I remember looking forward to unfabulous the most! I rewatched the series on Hulu a couple years ago, and it was still just as good. I still remember the songs she sang! lol
