I just noticed this on some of my shrimp but they don’t look like worms… it looks like a cloud over their eyes. I’m seeing people doing salt baths but there’s no way I could collect all of my shrimp for that. Should I try Paraguard or no planeria? I also have a couple endler and Cory in the tank. The shrimp are my favorite though 😢

@TTX420 sorry to hear about your shrimp. Cloudy eyes can be a symptom of many things, mostly related to the environment though also possible to be related to a bacterial infection. What percentage of your shrimp would you say look like this? If it's a small percentage it could be due to molting, when shrimp eyes can look different, but it should return to normal soon after. Do your water parameters look good?

I have vorticella on my tank all over the hardscapes too. I wanna try paraguard first how exactly did you incorporate on tank? I don't want to kill my entire colony by making a mistake. :'( hope you can respond to this. Really urgent. :'(

According to the label it's not shrimp safe, but that's not what I've experienced in the on the two occasions I've used it with shrimp. I would only recommend this if you are worried that they will not make it if you don't treat. I used no planaria to get rid of S. japonica. Even though they aren't planaria, they are worms. Unfortunately vorticella are protozoa, and I've never dealt with them. My guess is paraguard is your best bet. I'd go with half the recommended dose. If that doesn't work and your shrimp seems fine, work the dose up. Best of luck in getting rid of them!

@@freshflowaquatics thank you so much for the inputs Sir! Did your plants died or get affected? Also the algae? I need to keep them somehow.

The plants were all fine! I don't think this should mess with algae at all either.

Is this safe for shrimp fry?

No planaria should be completely shrimp safe. I've never noticed any ill effects on my baby shrimp.
