      Great question... Unless you know the general range of your water, it's hard to know when to use the high vs low range pH tests and the whole point of the test is to figure out what range your in! You can either ask your local fish store what your local water pH is, or you can get a digit pH meter, which is what I use. Link for it -> amzn.to/3yvDM3b

    And why the heck do you think any manufacturer should include chlorine to their fertilizer recipe? By the way, there will never be a "best" fertilizer since each tank requires adapted nutrient formulas for best results even if you used RO water to begin with.

      @@freshflowaquatics 🤣🤣😂😂 wtf are you talking about everyone does it different but that is not true, plants go in first so you don’t have to stick plants on top of root tabs or possibly not sink them in enough. It’s best to put plants and roots in and then add a root tab for every ONE PLANT 1 tab = 1 plant. You don’t need that many either way to much you’re going to over toxify your water and pollute the crap out of it. Especially if it’s a new tank you want to slowly add everything and establish the water and good bacteria from the bad. Unless your entire tank is going to be plants which I assume it’s not this is obviously for show and demonstration on how to put them in your tank but is not the right way to do it. This is clearly just a how to video in a bare tank you don’t need to justify it.

      @@freshflowaquatics WAY TO MANY IDC WHAT THE Directions say it’s 1 tab for 1 plant and you are going to create algae grow and other bad toxins that can pollute the water. Unless this tank is only going to be plants that make’s sense. But sticking that many is ridiculous you’ll get the same results with 1 tab for 1 plant. Ridiculous probably some Chinese bought plant tabs. Watch father fish he will teach you everything you need to know.

    • @SYHOZHO
      @SYHOZHO 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@freshflowaquatics you read that wrong or did something completely wrong. Or bought those root tabs from China. They don’t look like any of the name brand or big branded aquarium products. Maybe it’s not a lot of whatever they put in the pills, you shouldnt have to put that much in the tank. It’s overkill to the max. Either way just trying to help good luck and hopefully it works out for you dealing with ick in one of my tanks with angel fish, bala sharks, clown plecos, upside cats, and a few other including a tiger moray eel. Only a few fish have it and I caught it early thankful but I’m in the process of changing a lot so it’s not a surprise.Sometimes it happens. Just adding in more live plants and other things that change the water/ chemistry of everything. Time for a ick solution and water changes. Have a good one hopefully you figure it out but in my opinion which is irrelevant in the long run that’s to many in the tank and if that’s what it’s calling for then you need to get new tabs.

    • @freshflowaquatics
      @freshflowaquatics 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It depends on the situation. For hardy fish in a brightly lit room I prefer to get them out of the bag quick. If it's a sensitive species then I'll slowly add water from the tank to the bag. I'll generally do that in a room where I can close the blinds and turn the light off, which I couldn't do here cause I was at a client's house. It's kind of a tradeoff though cause being in the bag is stressful for the fish too. It's generally good practice to do that though, good question!

    I dont understand the point that macro elements can be obtain from fish food, waste,plant decay? So we have lots of fish and plants. Do we need only micro elements?

    • @freshflowaquatics
      @freshflowaquatics 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Fish waste contains nitrates and other elements that plants need to grow. If you have enough of it in your tank, then all you need to do is supplement with micros, which are not found in fish waste. There should never be enough fish food or decaying plant matter laying around in a tank that it would contribute to nutrient load IMO. If you're looking for an exact process to follow, measure your nitrates. If they are around or under 10, consider adding both micros and macros. If they are over then just use micros... If your plants still look like they could be growing better with only using micros, try some macros too. One thing to note though is that there are other elements important for plant growth. I'm only talking nutrition in this video, but light, flow, CO2 if you want, etc

      That's really cool! I love looking at the natural local exhibits, they definitely are a great educational tool. I think that sometimes I'm a little bit on the paranoid end when it comes to parasites cause I don't want to introduce anything or suggest something that results in other people introducing parasites into their tanks. I know a lot of people collect from nature and have no issues 😊

    Great job but I'm still worried about the fact you cracked it, how did you get on with fixing the crack 👍

      Thanks! I used a lot of silicone at the top when I put it back on, holds everything together. The brace was already cracked when I started taking it off. This tank had really been through the works 🤣

    Food chain dude ,,,,algae is the bottom of the food chain which is why scuds predominately eat algae being that they're a prey species ....!

    What fish are you keeping with them and how big is your tank?

      I currently have them in my 75 gallon with glow light danios and kubotai rasboras. The tank teh video was filmed in, they were in a 36 gallon with some endler guppies, a peacock gudgeon and 2 bajo catfish.

      @@freshflowaquatics It was definitely not easy. Was able to remove it from 2 tanks manually but the 3rd I had to tear down completely. It was due for a rescape so I was okay with it thoughz
