I’m an all American V8 fanboy through and through but there is just something about these aesthetically pleasing imports that almost make me envious of their owners. The RSX Type S and the Integra Type R are two of my favorite designs when it comes to imports. I have owned 3 domestic muscle cars and they were fun but there is really something to be said about a lightweight and fuel efficient 4 cylinder car than sounds as good as this. I recently purchased a 98 ek hatch for a fuel efficient daily driver despite it’s lack of power since its bone stock it is still fun to drive and throw around a tight corner with nothing more than adjustable coilover suspension. These things feel like go karts.
I'm glad you like both muscle cars and Hondas. I'm the same but instead I'm a Honda fanboy however I also like and appreciate muscle cars. I have a 75 Firebird with a 455 I'm restoring.
I went from an 03 Miata to a 15 5.0 mustang. I have so much love for both because you can’t compare them. Imports are light and agile in corners, where’s muscle bites just as much as it barks. Such fantastic differences

Yonaka shockingly nailed it in a lot of ways with their mufflers. Are they the best quality? no. But the bang for the buck in regards of price to sound and performance ratio is as good as it gets. I had one on my DC2 for over 3 years and if I hadnt gone a different direction I absolutely would have bought another one. Nice vid!
Just grabbed this exhaust this week on sale for $400. Puttting it on my MT 5th gen Prelude tomorrow. Exactly as you described it being OEM+ is what I am going for with my Prelude. I painted it from red to black, fog lights, tints, lowered it 1" with Tein coil overs, added a K&N cold air intake, red Honda emblems, & now I am putting on this Yonaka catback exhaust. All thats left is bronze 17" Volk TE37 & she is completed. I've had her for 7 years but its almost complete! Little things like a clean stereo unit, I think we have the same Pioneer head unit, 6000k white LEDS all aroudn inside & outside.
I've been eyeing this system for my EP3 because of the 2.5" piping. Thank you for sharing the video with lots of good sound clips! I think this confirms my hopes that this will be subtle, but offer a bit of fresh breath to my old car.
like what carwizard always says clean both the socket and the bolt and hammer the socket in and then drive it out. This exhaust is just sounding amazing, love your videos on this RSX keep it coming.

I had a 2005 in 2009 and to this day I remember how great those Type-S were to drive. They were fun, light, simple, and reliable cars. It's a shame Acura has lost its way that much.
Great video man! Very nice exhaust sound, not obnoxious. It's good, it's mature. I often say it's very easy to make a Honda sound bad with poorly tuned exhausts. Finding ones tuned to eliminate drone and certain NVH, but still sound good is a lot harder. I have done similar with my S2k. It's well tuned and has a nice deep sound to it, no rasp. Amazing under VTEC. Your RSX-S is clean dude, I wish I would've got one when they were cheaper. They've aged well and look great still.
I had this on my rsx-s. I would recommend welding in a different resonator to get rip of the really loud exhaust drone when driving freeway speeds. I installed a Vibrant UltraQuiet and it got rid of around 95% of all drone on the freeway
Just bought a civic and this sound is perfect for a daily commuter car with a body kit and eBay turbo. ❤ not obnoxious at all. And real smooth install. 😮😊
I went with the Skunk 2 megaflow race headers-testpipe-exhaust. I get nothing but compliments. It was always a bit high sounding, but after I got the engine rebuilt, it sounds a bit lower. Loving the video. Keep it up.
Just wanted to add my 2 cents. When replacing heavy duty bolts I always add anti-seize and replace with 316 Stainless. Be mindful of galvanic corrosion though but antiseize should be a good enough barrier between the two metals. Or zinc plated bolts. I have stainless bolts mounting my headers to the aluminum block and haven't seen any corrosion even after washing.

Had a Yonaka exhaust on my 02 RSX Type-S. Really good exhaust if you want something quiet, but only if you have stock headers. Would not recommend with aftermarket race headers because it will rasp and sound "ricey". Swapped it out with an HKS Hi-Power to match my Skunk2 Alpha headers.
could the smokey burny smell be, because the exahust tip isnt protruding out the bumper? and a bit of fumes get trapped under the car, and make their way up through cracks / shifter etc.
@ALLDAYANTHONY dude, sweeeeeeeet! No problems with the stock catalytic converter? I've been looking at the Skunk 2 stuff but they all seem to think no one wants a catalytic converter, or it's not clear to me they work with your stock setup.
