Agreed. A lot of the cool off road and overland modded 460’s have so much material cutaway. This is a great build that seeems to not require much if any body cutting
The GX470 and GX460 are not "the Lexus version of a 4Runner". They are based on the Landcruiser Prado, which is not sold in the U.S. This is a HUGE difference. It only looks similar to the 4Runner. My 460 with it's V8, full-time 4WD, locking center diff and KDSS suspension is not even close to my 4Runner. They are two completely different machines. It would be more accurate to say your 470 and my 460 are the "Lexus version of the Landcruiser Prado". Just sayin.

Love that low pro roof rack. I need one of those. The only thing I would suggest for it would be to use counter sunk screws/bolts to make it flush. Probably would have to make the sides thicker but just a thought!
I have a Victory Blitz front winch bumper on my 5th gen 4Runner and love it!... It is by far the cleanest looking low profile bumper, for the 4Runner! Victory looks great on the GX!
GX460 is looking so much better now that the horrible 4 cyl hybrid LCs came out... feels like we're getting pranked...a 4 cyl AND battery in a Land Cruiser is a sentence i never thought would exist.
I would love to see a bumper that provides protection from animal strikes. Chopping the grill now saves it being busted anyways and stranded...can an ARB Prado bumper fit a GX?

Hi you don’t have to touch the break lines with any lift under 3” anything over 3 change break lines and correct me if I’m wrong 285/75/17 is not a 35” tire that is a 33” and you didn’t need a body mount chop for that. The reason I know is because I have a 2016 with 285/75/16 zero offset I also have a 2023 with 285/45/22 negative 25 w/1.5 wheel spacers which brings offset back to a positive +12 both have 3” lift and never had to change break lines and no body mount chop if you do 35” tires then yes body mount chop is necessary. It sounds like you’re doing a bunch of extra work and charging customer for no reason I wouldn’t say anything if I wasn’t 100% positive I hope this helped you.
You mean you had a +25 and you added a wheel spacer to make it into a -12. You can’t make a larger negative number and make it a smaller negative number when adding a wheel spacer. The further you push out the wheel the larger the turning window is on the out side edge of the tire. Do all vehicles need a bmc no. But if you add a larger tire and you plan to actually off-road with the vehicle you do need a BMC if you want to minimize rubbing. And for sure do if you add an upper control arm because it pulls the wheel back closer to the fire wall 3/4”. Because the increased camber. So then you need a body mount chop without question. Another thing is that you can not lift a toyota over 3” because the axles are maxed out with their design unless you use a diff drop and so are the lower cam adjusters maxed out. You might be able to get it a tad over 3” but the alignment will not be correct in all areas.

That's not a $20,000 install. It should be quite a bit less than that with all of those parts and labor. Probably a little more than just half of that, depending on if you source some of the parts yourself.

It's growing on me. There is just a half inch gap on the sides of the bumper right below the grill. Everything else is super clean. I'm wanting to buy a gx460 to replace my 2012 x5 x35i with 259k miles. This video makes it hard to be patient while looking for a good deal.
@westcottdesigns thank you! I have 17's that are 8 inches wide but with a plus 20 offset. Sitting on the same tire size (275/70R17). I'm trying to figure out what size spacer I can use to get to a similar offset that you have here.
