All Windows 10 Gaming features turns out to be an unnecessary resource parasites which brings nothing more than a poor performance that nobody wants and everyone who play games will do everything to turn off, deletes or disable any gaming feature that Microsoft has to offer. They just want an simple bloat-free OS. Windows 11 will also results in the same results.
DirectX 12 and DirectStorage were used as selling features of Windows 10 to get people to move off Windows 7. Declared as "exclusive" "gaming" features that would only work on Windows 10. - DirectX 12 was ported to Windows 7 around a year later - DirectStorage was quietly swept under the rug I upgraded from Windows 10 to Arch Linux instead. I now have complete control over what my machine does and doesn't do
The only thing that could make me go to win11 rather than Linux once win10 support runs out (I was already very reluctantly going over to win10), is if they do like Nvidia and remove any requirement to have a Microsoft acct, not only for the O/S itself but also for all the programs in their MSstore. Also remove all telemtry they have integrated into their o/s more and more since win 7 (yes, it really startd in win 7, but exploded in win 10 and now is just insane). Also now they hide many programs that replaces the "retired" ones behind having to have an acct either to even d/l it, or to use certain features in the programs. I refused to use the Nvidia program for years for the same reason and just manually d/l the drivers. Finally recently they removed the need to sign-up and have an Nvidia acct. If only MS could do the same. *Edit:* Oh and of course, as for outside of gaming, that they fix their stupid design choices which makes it take 3-4 extra clicks for each thing you want to do. Even if I am not a fan of win10 either, at least it has a better workflow design, just like all windows before it (apart from 8 and 8.1), while win11 is such a pain and adds a lot of time in the long run since it all adds up over time, just to simply do the simplest tasks. You have to click through menu after menu and option after option, for things that in the past required 1-2 clicks. Adding and tying gimmicky things to 11, like some of the things you mentioned in this video, will not convince me at all to use win11.
I upgraded to Linux. No regrets.😊 Gaming and daily use has been fine. No major issues in 2 months. I mostly play single player games and mostly browse the web and stream videos and music and Linux has worked great for that.
My main machine of almost five years uses Garuda Linux Gaming edition since a fresh install of 24H2 will not complete due to no drivers available. Everything works out of the box with Arch Linux plus the KDE desktop environment is gorgeous.
@@BReal23-qm8hs Yep I found Arch Linux to be the best for gaming. Currently using CachyOS for a little over 2 months now. It's been a great experience. Have tried Debian based distros before like Mint and MX Linux. Also tried Fedora and Nobara and always ran into issues with gaming and performance.
@@BReal23-qm8hs Have been trying and testing many different distros over the last couple of years since all my computers except one do not support Windows 11 officially. Finally settled on Arch based Myself. Cachy OS has been great so far.

WOW! Reading through the comments and there are 11 of us who have already moved to Linux or are going to move over at some point after windows 10 EOL.😊
@PurpleWarlock Read through all the comments including replies and count them. Just found it interesting that there were 11 who said they were already on Linux or going to switch.
Upgraded my computer to windows 11 more than a year ago, but my son’s computer with the same motherboard and similar hardware overall has repeatedly failed to upgrade. He is even more computer savvy than me and can’t find any reason why. The windows 11 upgrade starts and after reboots, etc, it is still Windows 10. Only difference I know about is that I have removed Windows features while he does not.
In the same machine (R5 5700 + 8GB) I've installed windows 11 and windows 10. At w11 the fan runs loudly even in simple tasks. In windows 10 even playing FORTNITE it seems to dont stress and even the fan isnt as loudly as on w11
Do I sense a hint of desperation in M$ somewhere? It seems that hanging a carat off the end of a stick doesn't do the trick. Maybe their technical team should try reading some comments?
In the end gamers want less bloat since that can actually help fps, I’ll stay on a debloated windows 10 I don’t need updates, I don’t need useless “gaming features”. But good on them for fixing hdr and latency in windowed mode (both of which I don’t use).
Thanks for going through these! For me, there is nothing here that would make me the slightest bit inclined to "upgrade" to Win11. My Win10 gaming system works just fine as is. And for as long as I can get security updates, I'll be using that. After that I'll be doing a real upgrade... to Linux. At that point, any issues that remain on Linux will likely have been resolved. As it is, there's nothing I play, or wish to play, that isn't supported on Linux at either Gold or Platinum level according to ProtonDB. The people at M$ who are turning their OS into a marketing & advertising platform will eventually do the same to Windows what misguided, like-minded people have done to AAA games, i.e., push customers to look for alternatives.
Auto HDR and more is being worked on in Linux now. Direct Storage I will wait and see as they have enough problems rolling out updates that do not break Windows every time. Also if they got rid of the adware and bloat out of Windows they would not need to do Direct Storage, it is like remaking the wheel from what it is to a square block. You can get external apps to do dynamic lighting. De bloat Windows that will speed up you're PC and gaming, or go over to Linux get up to 5 times faster speeds than Windows 11. Even better use Steam OS, or one of the other Linux gaming Distros. They will try and pull the wool over your eyes to get you to use their latest awful Windows 11. I will believe it when I see it.
@@isaboll1 Yes it is not well implemented yet, it still needs work. It is still being worked on and will be awesome as most things on Linux end up being better than Windows.
I really want to move to a W11 laptop. But there are few decent models with NPUs. Lunar Lake is not good, X Elite performance is not that great and Strix Point is quite expensive for my wallet. 😞
as a guy who supports computer for gamers, no Windows 10 is the best for gamers, windows 11 is supposed to be faster (on paper) but in reality, windows 10 is 25% faster for same hardware so Windows 10 win! YMMV 😉😉
What do i think? Well... M$ forcing an Online account instead of offline local user as a login to my personal desktop - unacceptable M$ making it mandatory to run a MLcrap-Screenshotbot as a dependancy for file exlorer - unacceptable there were tons of things over the years i tolerated(yeah , shame on me) beyause i am a lazy bastard but this year it finally snapped on me. By the end of january all my systems will be finished migrating to linux based OS and f-ing M$ can stick it where the sun never shines.
And you get purple pringles wallpaper!
yeah , but you can easily download custom wallpaper online

I would not doubt that DXVK will figure out how to make it work on Proton regardless in under a year.

I just upgrade from win11 to win10 iot ltsc and that is a os for gaming is more faster and less resource usage

Auto HDR already exists in Linux through Gamescope. It's the -hdr-itm-enabled flag when you use it to run games

That Directstorage slide 😂 upgrade to 11 guys! To get 1 second faster load time!
I had to do a double-take on that, too.
I’ll upgrade when 10 is no longer supported.
Comparing Windows 11 and 10 is like XP and Vista. Nonsense.
i mostly play game on my ps5 , if i could switch to Linux i would
if Linux support my hardware better and if i would have more storage availaible, i would only use Windows for gaming and School only lol

Completely useless features. DirectStorage could be a neat one, if it was actually implemented in any of the games I would like to play...

nope not interested in m/s gaming .prefer steam and battle net
Still can't use MESA on Windows, I'll stick with Linux.
I have never noticed any of it. Totally useless.
Don't care. Nothing Windows offers is worth the frustration or selling my soul to the company store. I'm a permanent Linux guy.
