Hey everyone, join our next free live class if you have time on our IG. Have you seen our 3D Buttercream Mums Flower Mini Cake yet ? th-cam.com/video/YgtgVX3ksIU/w-d-xo.html
lol! that's great I always encourage folks to find something that works to help them with there timing it really helps with the size and consistency and that one is easy to remember!
The instruction you provide in your tutorias far exceed the instruction received in the pastry and baking arts courses I attended at a well known culinary school. Thank you so much!
You are welcome 😊..... and sadly that is not the first time I've heard that. I'm glad you are finding our videos useful. I know from my own experience in school that they touched on piping skills a bit but there wasn't too much depth to the instruction so when I'm teaching I try to include all of the details that I myself would have found useful when I was just starting out. happy Decorating!
You are so welcome and good luck with the cake! The first wedding cake is always exciting and a little scary, or at least it was for me. Have fun and happy decorating!
Thank you so much for this video! I have been practicing my shell border the last few days and was able to decorate a cute little cake with the skills I learned from this video.
You are so welcome! and that is wonderful to hear! thanks for sharing with all of us and we are so glad you found our v videos helpful. Keep Practicing and keep up the awesome work!
you are so welcome and we are so glad you find our videos helpful. I've always loved teaching and doing demos so doing online videos is a great outlet for me. Cheers and Happy Decorating!
This is so informative 🥰 I loved cake baking and decorating and it’s something I want to major in and these your videos they are really teaching me a lot
Thank you to the male counter part for asking to show the close up of the piping tips. 👍I’m new and I like to see close ups of the piping tips used. I wouldn’t know what a 102 or any other number tips are as I don’t have numbers on my tips 😞 Thank you for your tutorial, I have enjoyed watching and learning from you.
Hi, Omg you are an awesome teacher. Thank you so much!!!. I have a question I have to make a full sheet cake and am placing a sugar sheet on top that is much smaller than the cake ok. What border you recommend me to use?
Aww you're too sweet! So glad you are liking our videos! that is a good question. A choice like that one is always very personal. If it's something like a photo I might pick a color from the photo that would complement without standing out and then something simple for the border like a shell or bead with a plain tip. If it's something like a princess themed print I would pick a matching color and possibly do something more ornate with some flourishes. If it's a corp logo I might go with a white plain outline or pull a color for the logo. It really depends on the subject matter and how much you want the border to stand out or just fade into the background. I hope this helps! Good luck with the order!
Hi! We are using a simple or American style buttercream in this video. There are many recipes available online for this type of buttercream. We reserve our recipe for our paid students. If you are interested in yearly membership to our school you can check out what it includes at our school site www.cakedecoratingschool.com
Hi Ronald, We are not currently teaching in person lessons but thank you for letting us know you are interested in them and thanks for the idea, I'll add writing to my list of content. We do have an older live that covers some basics of how to write on cakes you can check this one out to help you get started! th-cam.com/users/livejOrRaohLnd8
so glad you enjoyed the video. Unfortunately I didn't save the pages of notes I wrote for them so they are just captured in the videos. We have been thinking about turning some of these mini lessons into more formal lessons on some of the basics into more formal lessons. Glad to know it's something people would be interested in!
the short answer to that is yes you can. You can cut bags to mimic tips but since the openings lack rigidity you won't get exactly the same effect every time you squeeze. Hope this helps!
Hi Nil! we generally use a simple or American style buttercream for practice in out videos since it's an easy one to make and colors well. We save our recipe for out students that are a part of our school, you can check that out if you would like. There are also tons of recipes on line that will get you started!

Can you do the beads without a tip?
