Just wanted to give BIG THANKS to the Lumnah family and critters for providing my family with enjoyable and educational videos. These are some crazy times we find ourselves in and it’s refreshing to see a hard working and God loving family enjoying and building a beautiful homestead. You’ve inspired me and my wife to become “Modern Steaders” 👍😊. Can’t wait to see what you and Gina do with the new property and look forward to sharing in your adventures. And......it is you guys that are a Huge Blessing to me and my family !! Thanks again!!
JudithB The greenhouse puffing up was cool!!! My first flock is molting and they cant get up on the roost. They are able to get up on the nest box so i will have a mess to clean in a few weeks. I need to open the fence and let the chickens go in the garden for the winter, but got to add a plastic layer on the hoop beds first!! I dont want them eating the onions and collards!
Your animals are always so clean and shiny and so well cared for. I enjoy seeing them everyday. Ya'll should be very proud of how well you care for them.
First thing to do on New Property after clearing home site is build a Giant, Giant, Giant Pole Barn (No low windows to look in)with Concrete Floor with in floor heating. Have the shell built by professionals. Faster that way. You can put in small livening quarters (On upper floor) your self. But make sure you can fit all your Heavy EQ and Tool shop and supplies. Even a in door saw mill and room to store lots of lumber Make sure you put in a lot of security cameras. Auto mate your lights and sounds for while you are away. Close by in another Green House. Than start on a another animal barn. You can move a lot of your chicken coops and animal feeders you have built over to new property. Than sell your current homestead and move over. Can you get Cellular on property? High Speed Data? Power? Put in a back up power system with large batteries or a dozen small ones. Just to make sure your security systems stay powered.

Good morning Lumnah family from Utah, I have my cup of coffee and a smile watching my favorite channel. My goats look so cute doing the March, Gina your pizza really looks yummy. I'm not feeling well this morning so I think I will binge watch your older video's because that makes me feel good seeing such love in a family. God bless

Replace the pizza sauce with bbq sauce and add some pulled pork/beef/chicken. Onions if you like them and normal cheese following the crusts cook directions. You get a very different taste using things you most likely have on hand already
You can make an insulated box for New York City to put the blue water jug in then it wouldn't freeze water all year round you could plum it into the coup also
GINA , try the 2 ingredient pizza base. Flour and Greek Youghut. SHOTGUN RED tried it years ago. Said wouldn't use anything else again. Made it and know he got it right!.
I like it! I'm glad the chickens are free ranging. Do you like calzones? I cook my mushrooms, peppers, salami/pepperoni first so they don't add grease to the pizza. I cook the pizza crust about 10 minutes then pull it & load it with the cooked items. Then put it back in.
Good winter project would be addressing all the rust around the hitch on your tote box. That need sand blasted. cleaned, primed and painted. Make it last my friend. Good times do not last forever!
Gina, you should try putting an herb & garlic infused olive oil on your pizza crust. It makes a really tasty crust, instead of a dry crust. You can even sprinkle cheese & black olives on it after the olive oil & it makes it taste like a really good cheesy bread. It's just another option you can add to your pizza recipes, that I thought you might like to try.
Say, Al, how about giving us a split-screen view of the next coop move: outside view (drone, maybe) and inside the coop synched up. Make sure the inside camera is secured so it doesn't flop into dino guano.
Enjoy the warmer day. Here in Northern Idaho it is snowing today. The leaves are not off the trees yet, and still on the ground. Our maintenance guys haven't had a chance to get them in the street yet to be picked up. I heard we are going to get a ton of snow this year. I am thankful that I am retired and don't have to go out in it, only when I have to.
The trick to having your dogs take food more gently is to hold the food down to their level or lower. That way they don't feel they need to leap or jump to snatch it. (it works for mine anyway)
Since you’re using the end of your Kubota to open the gate maybe you should consider a bumper gate. One wider gate which is attached to a post in the middle of the gate. A cable on either side of post attached to each end of the gate. You bump the gate with your vehicle. It swings open. You quickly drive through it. The tension on the cables quickly return the gate to its closed position. Your livestock cannot open the gate. I mean, if they do they’re exceptional. 😂 Grew up with these gates on mega sized ranches in South Texas.
One thing you might think of is a chipper for the Kubota, something like the Wallenstein 36S (3.5" capacity) which would run off your rear PTO. It's not an impulse buy, and there's lots of other brands.
LOL the chicken trying to get in -- I appreciate you sharing things with us -- congratulations on the new property -- I enjoy you sharing the maintenance you do tools as well. Have a great day and god bless.
In case you're intimidated by too many ingredients, check out your local thrift shop for a five ingredient or less type cook book. However, the best cook book I find is Dining on a Dime. If you put the ramp roof on a hinge you don't have to cut the ramp, or remake the roof. Put the roof up, pick up the ramp then put the roof back down to hold the ramp up.
Good morning Lumnah Acres! I'm with Gina good thing I wasn't driving lol. Well done on the transfer I'm sure the birds inside are gonna have a story to tell the stragglers.
I’ve got a chicken that can’t get more then an inch off the ground. I think she also afraid of heights. I put her on the roost every night but in the morning she’s sleep on the ground.
I'm always amazed how many things there are to do around there. I think I would feel overwhelmed by all the jobs that seem never ending. I'm glad you guys like it. It definitely is a calling to live this kind of life, I think. Just like our life in the military feels like a calling. Not everyone can move and travel as much as have to, and I couldn't stay in one place forever either, so I guess God knows what he's doing when we each have strengths and weaknesses.
The wind down leg near the tow hitch never has a wheel on it? Over this side of the pond we call that the jockey leg and most of them have a jockey wheel attached so you can move it slightly to accommodate easier hitching and moving.

1. Make a wood furnace which doubles as a brick pizza oven. 2. On your 500 acres build a small cabin with a car ramp on one end. If you build a house later then you can turn the cabin into a garage.

GINA, WHAT ARE YOU DOING? PIZZA MEANS NO CUTLERY, JUST CLEAN HANDS LOL. Glad things are going your way guys, you've grafted hard to get this far. Thanks for enabling us to come along for your journey, God bless you all
Free range chickens are great. You should think about getting a couple of new ducks and geese. They will usually let the whole barnyard know when some wild critter like a hawk is around.
Al Not asking for the address of the 500 acres BUT how close (minutes/hours) away from current homestead? It appears to be closer to the Canadian boarder.
But I LOVE your "never a dull moments"! 😊 That's what makes your videos so enjoyable, fun, encouraging, entertaining and instructional. Al, your photography and music are wonderful! Thank you Al, Gina and Olivia for brightening and heart-warming my day! 💐💕🐔(CWC) 🐓🐖🦆🚜💕💐
Mornin'!! Never realized that to be a farmer one has to be an animal husbandry expert, an athlete, a carpenter, a mechanic, have great knees and well, all joints and stamina!! Suggestion: Re the chicken ramp, just put a couple of hinges & cut in half, so the length remains and yet you can close up easily. BLESSINGS to a lovely family. I'm from the middle of California where it is a freezing 45!
0:40 - yes, it was hysterical! Poor gal didn't give up, even when trying the ramp... although we'll never know if Al ultimately gave her a hand to get inside New Yoke City!
Don’t you just love how all the goats go trotting in a line to to hay box? They are all so healthy looking. I wonder if some of them are pregnant. They look so wide. Or is that normal??? I love their eyes and how they love to play and love on Gina and Olivia when it’s warm outside. They just pile up around them. I love it.
One tip for the pizza. Brush the dough with oil before adding the sauce (I use olive oil) it helps to prevent the dough from getting soggy by the sauce. I'll have to try the preheated pan method next time I do pizza. 👍😉
I like where you moved the chickens and the goats will not be able to get to the chickens feed. Gina, that pizza looked amazing! Thank you Guys for sharing your homestead and what you plan for your dinner. God bless! 💜
Pizza looked delicious Gina. Next summer when the tomatoes start coming in try slices of tomato on the cheese. New Yolk city will be so handy this winter but I am afraid when the snow gets on the ground the predators will be after them. Have a Blessed day.
Good morning. Just a little hiccup to moving NYC, but it all turned out well in the end. I enjoyed watching this so much. As always, Gina rocked that pizza. God Bless you all.
@@LumnahAcres The only problem with Free Range is that you may see a reduction of Eggs as they will lay them anywhere? And if found outside the Coop you have no idea how old they are?
@@andrewcullen8635 - Eggs are good for up to 45 days without refrigeration, so the experts say. Hopefully that will give the family time to find any random egg spots the chickens establish - www.nelliesfreerange.com/blog/how-to-tell-if-eggs-are-still-good
Put some bigger wheels on New Joke City, with wider tyres ( your tractor) will stop it sinking in the mud while sitting and make moving it much more easy as it will glide over dips and rocks instead of bumping along!
Before you all go to the property let some one know when youll be home that way thay know you get home o.k. you should look in to a log splitter. After the outhouse a wood sheet with a tool sheet with a good lock. It's going to be exciting .
Al, with the way you push your tractor to it's limits, I wish you would put your roll protection back up where it belongs. I worry about you sometimes, be well!
Another great video Al!! Talking about moving chickens up to the new property already? how close is the property to where you currently are? It could make for a really long day of chores if it is to far away. Driving there and back everyday. Either way I'm pumped to see what your family can do with this new piece of land.
Recipes you might enjoy. Colcannon is a good use of leftover ham, and can be made with any leafy green. I prefer cabbage but kale also works. Traditionally the Irish "bacon" is used but it is like Canadian bacon. Amounts are adjustable depending on your taste and what you have on hand- its a good use of leftover pork roast, ham, etc. 3 or 4 russet potatoes depending on size. 1/2-1 pound of ham 3-4 c lightly packed greens 1 c of milk or cream 4 tablespoons of butter (with more to taste for serving) chopped green onions (including the green) salt and pepper to taste. I use a stainless steel pot with the potatoes in the large steamer and the chopped or shredded greens in the smaller one on top. Steam the potatoes until the skins split. Boil the ham in water and put the milk on the stove to heat with the butter - while those are heating, use a couple of forks to roll the skins off the potatoes and put into a large bowl. Pour the scalded milk/butter in a little at a time while mashing with a spoon. drain and shred the ham (Or you could run the chunks of potatoes through your ricer) then add the hot milk/butter. Mash, don't whip, adding salt and pepper, then fold in the white part of the onions, the drained shredded ham, and the steamed greens. Serve in bowls with butter and the chopped green onion tops.
Brunswick Stew is the other- a North Carolina thing it was traditionally a hunters stew made from game meat, and if you see it in a store don't do it. It is cooked almost to mush and is not good. For mine, I save leftover chicken, ham, and either roast beef or steak when there is not enough left for a meal. I use the vegetables I like, and of course, you will want to adjust to your taste. There are some things that Have to be included. I have tried to make a small batch of this and can't seem to. It freezes well, though. 1/4 - 1/2 pound each pork, beef, and chicken 1 medium onion, chopped 1 or 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 c of okra 1 bottle of BBQ sauce- I suggest original Sweet Baby Ray's 1 tablespoon sugar 2 c beef stock 2 c chicken stock Those are the "have-to have" ingredients - the rest is what I use but feel free to adjust. I hate lima beans, for example, so I don't use them and love green beans so I use extra. 1/2 bag frozen vegetables for soup (potatoes, carrots, celery, etc- you have a garden so could use your own instead. 3 - 4 peeled, diced potatoes depending on size - 1 can of green beans 1 can corn 1 can diced tomatoes 1 can of V-8 juice (Or tomato juice) Put the stock, onion, and potatoes in a large pot and cook over medium heat for 15- 20 minutes. Add the other ingredients, rinsing any bbq sauce out of the bottle with a little water. Cover or add more liquid if desired, but best to partially vent and let it reduce as it cooks. I have never made it in an instant pot, but I guess you could. It is great with cornbread or crackers. My friend owns a restaurant and I usually get the meat and BBQ sauce from there these days. I made a batch this weekend with smoked chicken, pulled pork, and beef brisket and it's always good with the smoked meats.
"We have to get out of here!! I think we just had an earthquake! The house was shaking and moving, come on girls, let's get out of here, quick!!!!" Lol! Pizza looked good, although I like more toppings on mine and a thinner, crispy crust! To each his own! God Bless!
The pizza looked awesome! Have you ever tried mixing herbs in your dough? I love to add dried basil to the dry ingredients. It just makes it pop with the added flavor.
i recommend that you place a ton of trail cams at the new place long before you move your chickens up there to see what predator pressure you are dealing with. I suspect you will lose 100% of your flock.

Good morning, Modern-Steader! Have an awesome day!!!
Good day from the west coast it’s a good crisp 55 here in Vegas. I love watching your family and farm. Thanks for sharing
Loved seeing all the animals again and you of course. Thank you.
I laughed so hard when you told that chicken she needed a diet 🤣
0:40 - yes, it was hysterical! Poor gal didn't give up, even when trying the ramp... although we'll never know if Al ultimately gave her a hand to get inside New Yoke City!
@@samvalentine3206 he most likely gave her a hand. I just love this channel.
I love it.
I was thinking if she couldn't get into the coop how was she laying eggs? I see a Future pot on the stove with her name on it.
@@nahnisjourney1406, they’ve gotten fluffier with their Winter coats.
If you clip their wings they won't jump out of the fence ☺️ that will help a lot. Just one side
Enjoy watching you guys fulfill your dreams and goals. Blessings to you
One tip for the pizza. Brush the dough with oil before adding the sauce (I use olive oil) it helps to prevent the dough from getting soggy by the sauce. I'll have to try the preheated pan method next time I do pizza. 👍😉
You should turn it around so you can see their door from the house
Thanks Al
I like where you moved the chickens and the goats will not be able to get to the chickens feed.
Gina, that pizza looked amazing! Thank you Guys for sharing your homestead and what you plan for your dinner. God bless! 💜
Pizza looked delicious Gina. Next summer when the tomatoes start coming in try slices of tomato on the cheese. New Yolk city will be so handy this winter but I am afraid when the snow gets on the ground the predators will be after them. Have a Blessed day.
You are so right Al homemade pizza is always better! May God continue to bless you all. Have a great day!
Good morning. Just a little hiccup to moving NYC, but it all turned out well in the end. I enjoyed watching this so much. As always, Gina rocked that pizza. God Bless you all.
Good morning Lumnah Family! Gonna be in the mid seventies here in Tennessee.
Goooood morning
Gooood morning Al and Gina, have a blessed day
Goooood morning
@@LumnahAcres The only problem with Free Range is that you may see a reduction of Eggs as they will lay them anywhere? And if found outside the Coop you have no idea how old they are?
@@andrewcullen8635 - Eggs are good for up to 45 days without refrigeration, so the experts say. Hopefully that will give the family time to find any random egg spots the chickens establish - www.nelliesfreerange.com/blog/how-to-tell-if-eggs-are-still-good
The amount of dough for that pizza reminds me of using garlic-butter bread for an quick-emergency pizza base.
I live in Central AZ. We woke to a brisk 21 degrees (F) this mornin’.
Yes Gina and Al , I ordered a Lumnah Pizza , cheese only delivered SE London , I'm still waiting , post code SE6....mmmm
1/2-1 pound of ham
3-4 c lightly packed greens
1 c of milk or cream
4 tablespoons of butter (with more to taste for serving)
chopped green onions (including the green)
salt and pepper to taste.
1/4 - 1/2 pound each pork, beef, and chicken
1 medium onion, chopped
1 or 2 cloves garlic, minced
1 c of okra
1 bottle of BBQ sauce- I suggest original Sweet Baby Ray's
1 tablespoon sugar
2 c beef stock
2 c chicken stock
Those are the "have-to have" ingredients - the rest is what I use but feel free to adjust. I hate lima beans, for example, so I don't use them and love green beans so I use extra.
1/2 bag frozen vegetables for soup (potatoes, carrots, celery, etc- you have a garden so could use your own instead.
3 - 4 peeled, diced potatoes depending on size -
1 can of green beans
1 can corn
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can of V-8 juice (Or tomato juice)
Put the stock, onion, and potatoes in a large pot and cook over medium heat for 15- 20 minutes.
God Bless!
You should try putting garlic butter on the crust😋
Awesome video to watch, God bless
The pizza looked awesome! Have you ever tried mixing herbs in your dough? I love to add dried basil to the dry ingredients. It just makes it pop with the added flavor.
Try spreading some oil on the outer crust. It makes it more crispy & tasty.
Yay!!! Moving NYC!!!fresh grounds.. So happy for them.. Enjoy Moose,Ladies!!
You are a huge blessing to me Lumnah family
Good morning Lumnah family ☕️ have a blessed day... see you Thursday
I do wish there was a Wednesday episode... 🖖

loving the drone footage.......Hugs and Prayers ya'll
i recommend that you place a ton of trail cams at the new place long before you move your chickens up there to see what predator pressure you are dealing with. I suspect you will lose 100% of your flock.
