What color did you choose. Was it pebble sheen or tek or fina finish? I like the color

I've done some pool maintenance and I don't see why I would want to have a bubbled textured pool it's hard enough to keep the pool clean now you'd have to fight all those crevices to try to get it clean it just seems odd to me.
Why would you choose this way of finishing a pool and if you stay for the grip underwater I'm going to laugh.....

FYI Bear the pebble guy did tape the lights wrong BUT, the plumbers actually set them too high. If the pebble guys taped them off correctly you would have had a 2" slope in the pebble from the pop-up heads up to the LED bubbler lens. You probably could have lived with that as it is under water but the water depth at the bubblers would have only been 8". The the real problem started with communication with the plumbers. Pebble guys rarely deal with those bubblers so they don't know what to do unless the GC tells them. When I hear these types of stories I WISH people would have called a licensed pool builder like us. Most people don't save any money with BYOP or they end up fighting the sub contractors all the way through. If you are not an experienced builder, like Bear obviously is, You need a good superintendent on the job every day with a VERY trained eye! YES Scott Zimmerman below, many times the super big companies have over a thousand pools on schedule so the quality can drop. Smaller builders have a better eye on the job.

thanks for sharing this BYOP ,, we decided to use a pool builder (Presidential) and let me tell you the mistakes you had are nothing compared to what these guys are doing . coping height varies by 2" . exposed rebar after shotcrete , rust thru shotcrete and getting close to a year and still not done

Can you please tell me what company you hired for the plaster job? Just looking at some of your pictures of the finished bar stools area, and it really doesn’t look like a quality job to me. I’m looking at replastering my pool soon and would like the name of this company so I can make sure I don’t hire these guys as you look like you might be in my area. I think that the work that you’ve done personally looks great though. Good job. Hope everything turns out the way you’re hoping that it will. You deserve that reward after all that stress and hard work you put into it!

One of the many issues of doing an owner builder project. By hiring a reputable pool company the issues will be taken care of. Owner builders have no leverage with the sub contractors. In the long run, its probably not worth the money saved by dealing with all the issues than can pop up!
