    I've never tried this product before, but this blog was fun & informative. It's always neat to have something that can cut down on the volume of products you need. I will be trying this. Thanks for the heads-up.

      so how did it work out for you

  • @naturegirl321
    @naturegirl321 6 ปีที่แล้ว +70

    Please do not dilute and then store it. Dr Bronner’s themselves admit than no challenge testing has been done. Once you add water to a soap base, all bets are off regarding mold, yeast, bacteria, and fungus.

    • @saudiamonique3531
      @saudiamonique3531 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You add distilled water only , I’ve haven’t had a problem since so boil and cool then add or buy it .

    • @return2earthvideochannel
      @return2earthvideochannel 5 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@saudiamonique3531 Yes you are correct! Distilled water is free from all bacteria - therefore when diluted with distilled water the soap should not develop any mould (UK spelling).

    • @return2earthvideochannel
      @return2earthvideochannel 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Dear Naturegirl321, are you aware that all liquid soap products contain water as a main ingredient? Therefore if you add tap water it usually contains chlorine which kills virtually all known viruses & bacteria. If you choose to add distilled water - for example - it contains absolutely none of the contaminants you mention. It is extremely rare that mould would develop anyway - I've never seen mouldy soap, in any event you are not going to drink it are you?

      Thank you 😊 I actually didn’t know this till I tried it a few yrs ago *i added water to my car-wipes bc they had dried out (due to infrequent usage). Next time I went to use them they were dried out again but when I added a bit of H2O, the SMELL was SO BAD! 🤭 This is when I learned my lesson - BUT I didn’t know the “actual” reason till you guys!!! 👍👍🥰😎❤️🇨🇦

    The peppermint one is better for teeth, the tea tree one is good for cleaning because it's antiseptic, and the hemp almond one is best for hair, but I still prefer African Black Soap better for hair and body. It has more shea butter. Dr Bronner's on its own, will not get whites white, but it is good for bedding, if you use the tea tree version. It is Great!! for aphids on plants, but you have to foam up the soap in a bucket, and just dab the foam on the underside of the leaves, otherwise you could kill the plant.

    I have a cheapie foaming soap dispenser which I put about 1.5 c water and about 3T. DB and it works great, very rich foamy lather. I wonder if the plant spray would help keep fruit flies at bay? With warm weather, no ac kitchen, we have a flock of them in the compost pot and general vicinity. Any thoughts? TIA

    • @AbundantlyMinimal
      @AbundantlyMinimal  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You know, I haven't yet tried it with fruit flies, but I suppose it might help, especially depending on the flavor. Sometimes there are certain spices that repel different types of insects, so that could be an option too perhaps.

    • @naturegirl321
      @naturegirl321 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dangerous. Diluting a soap base means that you need a preservative or use it ASAP. Otherwise you’re risking bacteria, yeast, mold, and fungus growth.

Brings the PH balance back to normal and rinses clean, brightens your hair - best part is the price ....

    Need to wash some cups, plates, or cutlery = Dr. Bronners.
    Need to clean a surface = Dr. Bronners.
    Wash some clothes = Dr. Bronners.
    I wouldn’t normally travel with bubble bath, but if you have Dr. Bronners you can have bubble.
    I still take my own shampoo and conditioner bars. Because we mostly travel as a family one shampoo bar will last us all many trips. While a travel sized bottle of Dr. Bronners would be used up quickly and I don’t want to take multiple or a bigger bottle. It’s very handy as a spare though.
    I will be testing it out for shaving, but at the moment I have a bundle of travel sized shaving gel that I really like.
    Think I’ll still bring my own toothpaste. Because even if I used it I don’t think I could convince the kids to brush their teeth with soap. Again though it’s handy as a spare, and better that not being able to brush your teeth.

Also the plant spray killed horn worms and stink bugs but I think you have to it daily.

      We have plants now! This was filmed several years ago, and that apartment had terrible natural light!

    Great idea for a video. I had to buy some as an emergency body wash recently and am going to put in my own motorhome since it can be used so many things.

    I buy this stuff by the GALLON!
    -If I didn't already have a favorite trader Joe's, I would try mixing it for shampoo before DC, curious if it would strip the hair
    -may leave residue for washing dishes but did a good job
    -left residue for laundry so I switched to method brand
    - love mixing for hand wash solutions
    - few drops of soap with st ives apricot scrub for exfoliation/daily face wash
    I want to try more uses. If I didn't have a steam mop to clean my floors I would be using it for a floor solution too!

    Ha Ha probably an uncommon one is using in a paint sprayer as a defoaming agent for casein paints. I love the stuff. :)

    Do not wash your hair if you have white or salt and pepper hair, becuse of the high ph factor it turn it darker.

    This is all I wash my floors with... I babysit. So this is so much healthier for the kids to crawl around on the floor on. Its says put 1/4 cup or 1/2 but I use a little more than a cap full. It works great. If you used the recommended it' to much soap. I use this for more things around my house but on my floors and multi purpose cleaning is the main thing I use it for. Try it you will never use Lysol again. :)

    You both look like you weren’t adversely affected by the hydroxylic acid it contains.

    It works good as an all purpose cleaner but please do not use it in your hair, mine is thick and wavy but it made it break off.

    The green one is terrible as a shampoo. It made my hair dirty and heavy. I strongly do not recommend buying this product for hair! Why writing it to be a shampoo idk. It is such a disappointment.
