Kawasaki Concours 14 Windshield Bracket Repair, DIY, Save TONS of MONEY!!!!

This is long and detailed video. This is a very common "break" on the concours. One wind gust and the windshield will "fold" back. It is VERY COSTLY to have fixed at the dealership. All credit for this idea/fix goes to the Australian Concours group/folks, they came up with the plan and fix. I didn't see a video on how to do it so I made a video. I ground a groove into the lower guide then drilled and tapped the brace. Then used a 10mm 3/4" long bolt with lock nut and 2 fender washers 1" diameter with a 7/16" hole. One of the washers was ground down to a "D" shape to fit on the inside better. On the last ride everything worked great. This took a while to finish as it took a while to get parts in. Someone is making a "custom brace" and selling it on the Concours Owners Group (COG) sight. It is stronger and better than the stock brace. Kawasaki inproved the brace in 2015, but it is still weak and breaks easily in a strong gust of wind. The 2008 to 2014 has the weaker brace, 2015 the part was replaced with a stronger one, but it's not that strong. To do this repair this way will save (est) $1000 to $1500. Seeing a video like this will help many to save money and fix the weak parts.
