That was really cool to watch. And the end result looks fantastic. Yes, wargaming is the main use, but the old-school scale-modeler in me also loves the diorama possibilities.
Thanks Pico :) ... it was the model railroad layouts that my dad made in my youth that in part inspired this kind of thing... he would run the trains, but I'd always put my toy soldiers on too!
Instead of masking tape just screw a piece of wood on. That wont bulge. Perhaps a it of hot glue on inside edge of the river bank to seal it completely. Unscrew when done. May have to put something to lubricate the face so the resin doesn't stick to it.
Yeah that could work too ... as mentioned in video I switched to using a piece of styrene (hard) sheet, [evergreen styrene] hot glued on which worked great! Once peeled off they could be reused.
