      well the problem is, they easily warp and get bent out of shape. resulting in those situations where if "the planets don't align" and you don't have it positioned just right, it doesn't charge the device. it's more an issue with the connecting piece than the port itself.

    • @EposVox
      @EposVox  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I find it helpful, but not "extremely important", especially given that most headsets are passing it up these days. This has no interaction with your headphones, so sidetone is mostly impossible. No, there isn't any.

      iirc i read somewhere that when you have to send one signal which contains audio from and mic to your comp it can cause the bandwidth to become saturated which is why some wireless headsets are pretty bad. with this its just a mic to your computer so it has much more bandwidth

    • @MegaThestrange
      @MegaThestrange 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      A lot of it I am sure comes down to cost, also majority of people who buy a headset over the headphone/modmic (Or variation there of) are not as...particular about getting the best. Usually it is about budget. If they put top notch drivers and mics they would have to charge closer to $400 USD for something like that. Even then though some quality parts might be overlooked or a corner cut to save a buck to increase that profit margin. Plus as was said typically you are sharing bandwidth when they are in a single cord and when they are not you usually do not have adequate shielding to prevent interference, again ensuring that you would, would continue to raise the cost, and bump it out of peoples range. There is little point in trying to make an end all headset when most enthusiasts will spend the extra and great headphones and then an add on mic or cad mic.

      o_O Then it's not for you. A DAC would be for your headphones, mixer/interface for your microphone is ADC, if that's what you're referring to.

    In audio, wireless = lower quality. There is no way around this.

    • @EposVox
      @EposVox  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not inherently, no. Especially when we're talking lower-tier "quality" levels such as this. The only way that actually applies is in terms of bandwidth where there isn't enough bandwidth to allow full-quality microphones - which is why wireless gaming headsets, even the most expensive ones, typically have some of the worst microphones.
      But yes, it's a lower quality, but by being still way better than the vast majority of headset mics, the convenience tradeoff is generally well worth it. This isn't a studio mic.
      (Although plenty of films and TV shows are done with wireless mics and you'd never know, hence my push-back against that being a universal rule)

    • @SuperSkandale
      @SuperSkandale 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EposVox Wireless means you will have to have all the audio processing including amps and ADC's housed inside the wireless piece. Space being a limiting factor on some thing that is supposed to be "mobile" and not take up to much space or weigh a ton. So while you can technically design a wireless microphone that has state of the art processing on the local end, you will be hard pressed to find any manufacturer which would do this.

    • @EposVox
      @EposVox  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Which matters if you're trying to get multi-thousand dollar microphones for completely uncompressed high resolution audio and need as accurate a representation as possible - but not when you're working with a little headset add-on mic that already has "sounds pretty good for a headset mic" quality and doesn't have much quality drop-off as a result.
