🇹🇭 Koh Samed 🇹🇭 Thailand in 2024: still worth a visit?

Burim took a quick trip with his old university friends. They decided to go to Koh Samed, a little island off the coast of Rayong Province. Back when he was living in Bangkok, Koh Samed his my go-to, quick get-away destination because it's so close to Bangkok (only a few hours by car or bus) and yet the beaches on the island are so beautiful. ➡️Fast forward to 2024, he was so excited and curious to go back and see if Koh Samed still has that charm and convenience factor or not.

Do you think anyone could happily retire on Koh Samet, or is it much too small and boring to retire there?

Well, I guess it depends on what you're after. I can see myself spending months there, living simple life. But living there on a permanent basis is probably not for me. However, having said that a big town (Baan Pae, Rayong) is just 15 mins away by speed boat. So you're not exactly that isolated.
