What was the max depth and ave dice time? Anything interesting for macro enthusiast?
Hi there! Most of each day's first dive (deepest) is around 25-28 metres with an average depth of around 16-18 metres. Then after the first dive, most days we were doing around 12 - 22 metres. I'd say the whole trip is about 60% wide angle, big stuff (giant trevally, Morey eels, sea turtles, black tips, etc.) and around 40% macro. Obviously this is all depending on the dive sites (and weather), but we did have a few night dives with some cool macro stuff. And there were a few dive sites that I saw some pipefish, a lot of nudibranch and flat worms (especially around Richelieu Rock, Koh Bon and Boonsung Wreck).

If you have the choice of lens to put on what would it be between the red filter, the macro lens or both on the same rig?
I'd probably go with the macro diopter. I film and take photos with video light so red filter is not super critical for me. It's true that iPhone has macro lens build-in but I get a much better result using my +5 diopter. Hope this helps. 😊
hello，Is the visibility of seawater unrelated to the new moon and full moon while diving in Similan?
It's definitely related. You can see in some of the clips that viz wasn't so great. That's because the moon face was changing and current was getting stronger. Similan Island is in the middle Andaman Sea and is fairly unprotected from ocean swells and currents.

Thanks! Yes, I couldn't agree more, especially now that it's almost proper winter, it's cold but it's also the best season to dive in Melbourne. Visibility will be way better than summer... and a lot less people!

Great series of videos from your Philippines trip. What was your favortite place to dive - Malapascua, Dauin or Moalboal? I am planning a similar trip next March and looking for input. Thanks, Scott
If I have to rank, then Dauin, Malapascua then Moalboal. Dauin has the best of both world (wide angle and macro subjects). Apo Island (just off the coast of Dauin) was also incredible. Malapascua was also great with better infrastructure and facilities (in general) but it can get pretty busy. Moalboal was definitely the most touristy! But if you are after the sardines, then you gotta go there. 😊

Hi There! I also have the Divevolk housing and was wondering if you have the same issue where when the wide angle wet lens is on, the camera blurs unless you go into macro mode. But this workaround degrades the video quality I’ve found.
Yes! It was pretty frustrating! So I generally use the 3rd party app like Black Magic where you can have more manual control instead.
