We are all about raising and training our horses, the Missouri Foxtrotter. Our goal is to bring awareness to this breed and showcase just how wonderful they are! I agree but it could also be the camera angle. I’m a farrier and trim my own horse so I know he is done well, but sometimes on camera they look awful
Nah, length alone they need a trim, they probably look worse in person than the cameras

Mares can do many things or nothing at all before foaling. Watch your dates and camp out with her at night! I used to camp out from 320 days with my mares just in case...
Thanks for giving us an opportunity to see what it looks like before a mare goes into labor. I’m hoping all goes smooth if she does go into labor. And hopefully you both get some good rest and sleep as well. Thanks for the updatesz

This poor mare looks like she has had way too many foals. Her overall body condition doesn't look good. I don't know her story but I sure wouldn't be proud to show her off to those on the TH-cam.

Some Mares don't wax, but you can also measure the pH of the milk they make strips for it. 6.0 it's basically foal time. 6.25 and you got a little time, I think max 48 hrs.

My pregnant mates tail was the only thing rlly affected. Her udders were swollen but they didn’t wax. Instead they just got rlly shiny and the kne night we didn’t check on her, she foaled. Her foal is 7 months now and he is more then half her size. He’s like slightly more than half the size of my 15hh mare. He eats ANYTHING he can and when I say ANYTHING I mean ANYTHING. He stole my mother’s bottle, took the cap off, and swallowed it about a month ago. He was perfectly fine tho luckily!

I was at a horse show once and a mare foaled in the show stall because they DIDN'T KNOW SHE WAS IN FOAL!!! and showed her anyway
I wouldn't take birth lightly. Why keep risking a loving pets life? The animals are not really pets though. Is her prodigy a commodity? I'll never understand that, sorry.

We have had dozens of foals and we used cameras in the barn and would have mares show all these signs and not foal for a week AND have that baby at 4am or 5 am when we caught just a couple hours of sleep! LOL We also had mares that never showed signs and that foal was up and running around at 6 am. Mother nature has no hard and fast rules.
We have a 1998 model mare that has to be euthanized tom. morning. She endoed in the padture a few months ago and she has gotten worse and worse by the weeks. She gave us some topline Streakin Sixx babies. May you rest in peace, Missy, AKA "Miss". 😔🐎😪

Haha..I had a tb mare...on her 3rd foal. She had waxed up and was ready yet no sign of labour at all. We checked on her every hour as we didn't have foal alarms or Camaras. We checked on her at approx 2 am in the morning and she was scoffing hay like normal. We checked an hour later and she was still scoffing hay yet had a colt on the floor. No sweating.... nothing! She probably ate through labour knowing her 🤦

Some mares was and can actually squirt milk as they walk and then not foal for 30 days or even a bit longer. Some mares don't bag up until after they foal. Most mares do show the signs and timeline mentioned in the video. Great video of the signs to watch for.

Another tip: the mare's temperature. Once you see waxing take the mare's temp. If at resting it is slightly elevated SHE WILL GIVE BIRTH within 24 hours. May you have a safe foaling! ❤

I so hope she has a nice roomy Foaling Stable, I can see that she is a feeling the cold wind, as her fur is what we call in the UK, staring, or,maybe she was feeling a bit uncomfortable with the Foal starting it's transition to being born later on that day. I hope all went well with the birth, and, she was able to give birth if not in a stable, in a sheltered spot outside, bless her mind sweet eyes, awe.❤❤
