    Chad, Love your video. Good work on the regen and DPF PID's.
    Question for you. Could you give me your feedback on this GM Oil Pressure custom PID that was posted elsewhere on the web.
    "22115c, 1, 160, x10, psi, (A*0.65)-17.5"
    Originally had the scale factor set at x1 which was way way too low. Im running a 2019 L5P and found that with a x10 scale the PID is nearly spot on with the gauge in the dash.

    1. I used your regen distance PID and it reads 346.7 miles all the time. I though it counted up from 0?

      Peter,. Do you have any check engine codes on the truck? There are more than 2 fuel maps that exist, one for all good, one for protection mode. The motor will also defuel if the temperature of either the coolant or the diesel is too high. As for the PIDs that you asked about, one question for you, where Did you get them? I tested 0185 and was getting data back but I need to know the description so I can figure out what they are. 01 is the main federally required set of data and $ means it hex so that is the number you use so I looked at 0185. $B3 can be assumed to be Hex Byte 3 or in torque C or D, not sure if they start with 0 or 1. Let me know and I can give you some more pointers.

      So you need to add a "predefined set" to Torque Pro. This can be done from the main screen and go into the gear icon, setting. There you will find the "Manage extra PIDs/Sensors" Go to the triple dots on the upper right hand corner and select "Add predefined set". You need to add "Pontiac/GM/Opel/Vauxhall". Once you do that you will have 3 additional transmission temperature gauges available, starts with [GM] I believe I'm using Trans #1. Thanks for the question and for watching.

    Hi Chris just bought a Vauxhall Insignia and was looking everywhere for custom PIDs to monitor the DPF filter, thank you for the video and the XLS with the values, the last one in the right “Def Avg Usage” what’s that for and I take it we should be using it?

      @CJIEngineering  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I really like the Insignia and would love to have one in the USA if we could get the diesel, it's the Buick Regal over here. So the Def Avg Usage is a calculation of the amount of Diesel Exhaust Fluid that gets used as you drive down the road. I don't think the formula I have is correct yet, my EFI Live unit gives me a little different numbers so that one is a little sketchy. I just use it to see how much one engine uses compared to others. My 1.6 Equinox uses more DEF per mile than my 2.0 Cruze did. Thanks for the question and for watching.

Before I had the b-2 in the equation I had the max set to what I was seeing, "3" was reported when the unit regenerated so I wanted a more binary count, 1=yes, 0=no. I'm thinking that there are other indexes, if you have a fleet vehicle you can actually force a stationary regen using a function, I think similar to resetting the oil life. That would more than likely be another value but most of us don't have that feature enabled. Thanks for the question.

    For me the fuel pressure option is black and when I add it doesn’t work. What could it be?

    • @CJIEngineering
      @CJIEngineering  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If the option is black in the list then that means no data is coming back for that PID. The fuel pressure is not something that is a regulated standard value so companies can move it around in the data stream. I'll check mine this weekend and see if mine is working and let you know.

    • @CJIEngineering
      @CJIEngineering  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      So I checked mine also. You are able to get the lift pump pressure but not the fuel rail pressure. I believe this could be due to the fact that this engine runs up to 36,000psi so they must have a different PID to report it with a different calibration factor. I'll do some more digging but I'm pretty sure it will be a while before someone figures it out :(

      I'm using OBDLink MX. It has security, you need to push a button to allow pairing and it has higher refresh rate than cheaper models. Thanks for the question.

    Can the PID monitor 2018 pajero sport?

    • @CJIEngineering
      @CJIEngineering  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't believe it will, OBDII standard is something that is required in the USA and sometimes used in other areas of the world but I'm not sure on the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport since it was never sold over here. If you run an android phone you can buy a super cheap adapter for $10 USD and try it out. Torque the standard addition is free and it will check 5 or 6 different protocols. Good luck

      That is a great question. In the USA we have the OBD2 standard that all vehicles must follow. I'm not sure if the mg4 does follow the same standard since they are not available over here. If it doesn't I'm pretty sure it will in the future. Thanks for the question.

    Would this work on the 6.6l Duramax?

    • @CJIEngineering
      @CJIEngineering  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have not tested it myself on any modern Duramax. It worked on my LB7 with some minor exceptions. Since it didn't have any emissions stuff these new items where not necessary and the other thing that didn't work was the balance rate PIDs, they must have been a different value. All other gauges worded perfectly. What year / model 6.6 do you have? I could try and see if my buddies has that model engine and check it out.

      @@bluebowtie2007 So the clean value will typically be between 0.8% and 30% in my experience. If you happen to be towing during a Regen the cleaning cycle will be better than running unloaded. I've followed the instructions of all the videos that I've watched (over 20) and nothing seems to work. Some videos say to hit "save" on the page that lists the custom PIDs but there's no save button on my page. There's an "Export List" option when I select the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner of the page. 5 options pop up : "Torque", "Email", "Nearby Share", " Save to Drive" and "Send to Zoom Buddies." I chose "Torque", naturally. But it didn't save them to the page under the option "Realtime Information " so I couldn't access them to make a gauge from them.
