    This album was the original Renaissance. Beyoncé is determined not to follow traditional musical standards. She’s following her instincts. Matthew is no longer her manager so everything is on her shoulders. She’s just had Blue and she’s trying to realign her priorities, juggle motherhood and being a wife, and continue her artistry. In the middle of all of this she’s also trying to lose the baby weight and rediscover her sexiness. The result is this more mature, less regimented album that acknowledges all the parts of her womanhood. There’s thought provoking tracks, sexy grooves, and haunting unexpected transitions. She’s left behind the commercial, pop Bey and dived into “Beyoncé: Grown Woman”. She curses and drinks a little. She even requests and talks about sex and her feelings of jealousy. This album was about freedom from restricting expectations and standards.

      Well damn, you should write the synopsis of all her records. I can tell a fellow Stan when I read it lol. You captured everything that was going on at the time and if I wasn't already aware, I definitely would feel like I was there after that! 😂

    Do Lemonade next! Then her live performances. We’re gonna watch your dad become a Beyonce fan before our eyes. I think he’d even enjoy a few tracks off Renaissance (Cuff It, Plastic Off the Sofa and Virgo’s Groove). He seems to love her voice and it only gets better after this album.

    Went to the renaissance tour with my girl when it came to LA in September, and my appreciation for Bey just went higher.. Beyoncé for me was like yeah I know she’s great, but I’m not her target audience. But I swear after seeing her show man nobody can compete with her.. she did me a solid by bringing Kendrick out tho 💪🏾😂

    Considering the fact that this record is almost 10 years old next month, I love it each and every worth a minute of that self titled album. It dropped unannounced and set the standard to the music industry, in terms of releasing a single or an album, without the label's traditional promo and rollout.
    At that time, I was 18 years old and remember thinking, "The Queen is back, like she never left!" Not only did she drop the record, she even released the accompanied seventeen visuals.
    I don't gotta fave track, its the whole ass record for me❤❤❤❤

    Bday, BEYONCÉ and Renaissance are Beyoncé trilogy. You can notice they are all reminiscent of each other. You can see that on these 3 she had more freedom of creation, she did exactly what she wanted to do. Bday is so raw and fun, BEYONCÉ is so well produced and amazing all around and Renaissance is a mix of both

    You forgot to mention that this was she stepped away from her dad and she ditched the “clean/pure/perfect” image. This album had profanity and sort of humanized her

    • @AngeBiampandou
      @AngeBiampandou ปีที่แล้ว +28

      Her departure from Matthew Knowles was before 4. This album was after Blue Ivy. But that's definitely when she wanted to ditch perfect clean image and to be more spontaneous and liberated. I think motherhood really impacted her in a beautiful way. She felt even more comfortable in her body

    Dad has to listen to IV, Lemonade, Black is King, and Renaissance! Beyoncé walked so that Renaissance could fly. IV was the vocal best album until Renny. Black is King is a literal cultural masterpiece, I’m not being inflammatory either… And Renaissance is really just wild. A perfect body of work.

    Hey yall, i really think yall should react to Renaissance. Just because of all the musical changes, production it would be a really good talking piece. Also Beyoncé’s voice has matured tremendously, listening to this made me realize how much depth she has now in her voice and experience. She’s like really seasoned idk how to describe it and I’m curious if yall will be able to tell. And if your dad is a big 70s fan i mean that’s like the perfect album for him. Bday is one of favs as well because it’s so funky.

    She’s said she was embracing her sexuality and becoming a married woman. This was all after marrying her husband and he was the love interest in all the videos for the album.

    Amazing reaction! If your dad is a Jay fan I recommend you react to everything is love! It's Beyoncé + Jay z's joint album. After he released 444 & her lemonade it was like the ending of their trilogy.

    I think this reaction would have been even better with the visuals. This I think was her first visual album. I think you all should do the visuals next.

    I would say My fave Beyoncé albums are Renaissance, Lemonade, The Gift, B Day, 4, Beyoncé, Dangerously in Love… in that order. I really think you should do a deep dive into her discography. She explores so many different sounds, it’s hard to pick a favourite and there’s always something for someone to enjoy.
