"Ivan the Terrible"- Nazi sexual deviant & the most sadistic Nazi guard at Treblinka- Ivan Marchenko

  • Ivan Marchenko was born on the 2nd of March 1911, in the Ukrainian village of Serhijowga then part of the Russian Empire. Tge Second World War began on the 1st of September 1939 when Nazi Germany invaded Poland. Less than 2 years later on the 22nd of June, 1941, Nazi Germany, under the codename Operation Barbarossa, invades the Soviet Union, its ally in the war against Poland.
Three army groups counting more than 3 million German soldiers attacked the Soviet Union across a broad front stretching from the Baltic Sea in the north to the Black Sea in the south. The soldiers were supported by additional 650,000 troops from Germany’s allies.
In the first six weeks after the German attack the Soviet Union saw catastrophic military losses and the German armies eventually captured some 5,7 million Soviet Red Army troops during the Second World War.
Among them was Ivan Marchenko who had entered the Red Army infantry on the 27th of May 1941 and was captured by the Germans on the 10th of July of the same year.
Some 3.3 million Soviet prisoners of war, or about 57 percent of those taken prisoner, were dead by the end of the war. Second only to the Jews, Soviet prisoners of war were the largest group of victims of Nazi racial policy.
However, Marchenko was not killed. Instead, he was sent to a prisoner-of-war camp "A" in Chełm, Poland and
in October 1941, he was selected for Trawniki camp, where the Nazis trained prisoners-of-war to work as SS guards. SS and police officials inducted, processed, and trained 2,500 auxiliary police guards known as Trawniki men at Trawniki training camp between September 1941 and September 1942. Virtually all of them had been Soviet prisoners of war.
Deployment in the operations of the "Final Solution" -which was the mass murder of Europe’s Jews - became a key function of the Trawniki-trained guards. The Trawniki men provided the guard units for the Operation Reinhard killing centers at Bełżec, Sobibor, and Treblinka.
German SS and police authorities deployed the Trawniki men in the deportation operations from both large and small ghettos in German-occupied Poland and as escorts for the transport trains from ghettos to the killing centers. Among the ghettos in which Trawniki-trained guards were deployed were also Warsaw, Lublin, and Krakow.
By February 1942, Ivan Marchenko was rounding up Jews in Lublin for the death camps.
In May of 1942, Marchenko was sent to Treblinka extermination camp which was constructed in the summer of 1942. It was the third killing center, after Bełżec and Sobibor, established by Operation Reinhard authorities.
Deportations to Treblinka came mainly from the ghettos of Warsaw and Radom districts in the General Government and continued until the spring of 1943. Most prominent among the deportations were the approximately 7,000 Jews transported from the Warsaw ghetto after its liquidation following the Warsaw ghetto uprising in 1943.
A Holocaust survivor Josef Czarny, whose parents died in the Warsaw Ghetto, remembered after the war how at the age of 16 he was transferred to Treblinka where he spent 10 months: “When the Ukrainian Trawniki guards came to lock the door they used a board to push in the mass of flesh. We were crushed, crammed together, absolutely stuck together as one flesh. I remember some people going stark raving mad. They were drinking urine, they actually did that,″ Czarny added, and broke down crying. He later continued: ″I remember Hannah and Gita - two of my 3 sisters - crying out ‘Daddy, Daddy,’ but I couldn’t find them.″ While Josef survived Treblinka, his 3 sisters were murdered there immediately after arrival.
At Treblinka, the process of selection and murder was carefully planned and organized. Incoming trains of about 50 or 60 cars bound for the killing center first stopped at the Malkinia railway station. Twenty cars at a time were detached from the train and brought into the killing center. The guards ordered the victims to disembark in the reception area, which contained the railway siding and platform. One building erected on the platform was disguised as a railway station, complete with a wooden clock, timetables, destination signs and even a fake ticket office.

I'm Polish. I wanted to remind you, because it is often not mentioned - the Germans not only killed Jews in concentration camps, but also millions of other Poles (Christians), Gypsies, Jehovah's Witnesses, Homosexuals, and political opponents and others.
Many Ukrainians collaborated with the Germans and showed great cruelty. Today, most of our society helps and sympathizes with Ukrainians, but a large part of the nation still has a strong memory of their atrocities and great distrust, often reluctance. I know and understand that today's Ukrainian or German is not responsible for the evil of his ancestors, but many people think differently and still look at them as a threat. After 80 years....

While the Nazis did murder Jehovah's Witnesses, Homosexuals and political opponents, they were not marked for extermination like the Jews, Gypsies, and Soviet Commissars. One could repent from being a Jehovah's Witness or turn from homosexuality-they were even used as servants in the house of Auschwitz Commandant Rudolf Hoess. Only Jews and Gypsies were sent to the death camps like Treblinka, Sobibor, Chelmno and Belzec.
I have not even read or heard from any reports or testimony of Einsatzgruppen looking for homosexuals or Jehovah's Witnesses in the Soviet Union to murder them. They only dealt with the murder of Jews and Gypsies.

You're absolutely correct about Ukrainian collaborators and I still don't trust Ukrainians today. However, let's not forget that the Polish were also guilty of collaborating with the Nazis in occupied Poland and one of those Poles happened to be Karol Karol Józef Wojtyła aka Pope John Paul ll.

My Daddy was in a group who liberated one of the smaller camps. He was affected terribly the rest of his life. He didn’t talk much about it, but the few times he did, he mentioned how he’d never forget the skeletal condition of the survivors, the smell of the prisoners, and living with the idea that something that awful could be allowed to happen. When I was a small child, I learned how to wake him up from nightmares that shook him to the bones. We owe that generation such a debt of gratitude for what they gave to us, and the sacrifices they made for our freedom.

Uhm, wasn't it this same so called greatest generation that caused all of this in the first place? The same greatest generation that was horribly racist and killed and lynched blacks in the US for sport? I know I know how dare I speak ill of our hallowed warriors. Don't get me wrong, it was a horrific war and yes, they were brave. But I wish everyone would quit sugarcoating and waxing g poetic about how great this generation was when in fact they were cleaning up a mess they themselves created. And even then they did a piss poor job of it at that

I hardly know what to say about such an uninformed, ignorant and callous statement. Whatever the domestic problems were in this country (yes they existed) - Just for kicks, let me ask you-what do you think we’d be doing right now if we hadn’t won WWII? (Hint- we wouldn’t be discussing world politics and calling our Fuhrer a madman).
They are the greatest generation because they knew the sacrifices they were going to have to make, and they joined up anyway. They knew it would be hell on Earth, but they did it anyway. Our freedom meant more than their comfort. That’s why. They knew the massive scale of injuries, PTSD, death…but they did it anyway. People stepped up, did what had to be done so people like you, Michelle, can go about your business and speak about anything Lou like, without having to say “Sig Heil” every five minutes and risk the horrors of Nazism. Everyone made a commitment to do all they could to help.
Never before and hopefully never again, will the entire world be in such danger. But think about this - of all the news stories, the crazy way people have been acting and the level of disrespect that people seem to have for each other. How well would we do in the event of another war?

Hitler would be a great hip-hop name." I was stunned. I once believed there was no way we would ever see a repeat of the atrocities of WWII. @@16rumpole How can you be so sure? The Holocaust was a terrible thing but that doesn't give Zionists (as opposed to regular Jews) a right to inflict suffering on so many even in reprisal. The situation in Gaza today is only going to radicalise more Palestinians to sympathise with Hamas. As the side with the upper hand, it's up to Israel to explore other methods to delegitimise Hamas in the eyes of the Palestinian population. For decades, the Palestinian issue has been a rallying point for the Arab world's stance towards Israel. Solve that problem by allowing Palestinians back on ancestral land with EQUAL rights to Israelis. We all know both sides have some claim to the land going back centuries. But we all know they won't because they don't want to share any land with the Palestinians. I think Israel defining itself as an exclusive Jewish state has painted them into a corner they can't back out of. Also there's the issue of seeing themselves as "chosen" people, a concept that can very easily be stretched to mean they're somehow "better" than others and which is incompatible with modern thought.

From very early on we learned about what happened during WW 2. When I was younger it felt so far away. Also, I could not really understand the gravity of it as I wasn't really ready for it. We went through it multiple times in school and at some point it became annoying to hear it again and again. But today this hits totally different for me. As I grew older I began to see the value of each individuals life, the possibilities, the stories, experiences ... each life is its own universe. And they were killed in the millions. It takes my breath away. Last week I was at a memorial site in Vienna where over 60000 names of killed people were carved into stone. When I looked down the rows of names it felt surreal. All this for nothing. Insane.

While he mentions Gustav Wagner, why did he not mention Ivan and Nikolai, who ran the gas chambers at Treblinka? Why didn't Gitta Sereny asked about the personnel working at these camps? There was the testimony of Franz Suchomel, the SS man in charge of the gold taken from the Jews at Treblinka. Why was he not asked about Ivan the terrible. Here is the thing. He once dead has his unrepentant soul and I'm sure he died unrepentant as his monstrous and perverted ways made his mind eternally reprobate. But his unrepentant soul is in Hell.
Satan, his demons and even other reprobate souls are giving him the same levels of torture and abuse he dished out each day, every day in Hell. To top it off the difference between suffering while alive on earth, one has the understanding of faith that God will listen to your repent and may end your suffering on Earth or haste your ways to Salvation. But in Hell souls like this Nazi camp guard may due to enduring suffering even come to beg and pray to God to intervene, but as God makes clear the unrepentant soul in Hell will forvever go unheard to God.
His soul suffers worse than those he tortured while alive in Trablinka, for their suffering though unjust was brief, his suffering will be eternal.🤔

Often we hear about the shootings and gas chambers but it's rare that we really stop to think about the horror of those little moments like standing at the edge of a pit after seeing people shot, being crammed in a cattle car for days, waiting in line for a 'shower' while hearing screams of the men dying inside, being raped or tortured, realizing you're about to die, and hearing the crying children in total fear. As a man who's Father's entire side of the family were Jewish, these absolutely disturbing things the Nazis did to millions of Jews, the various forms of torture, rape, violence, humiliation and terror they put the Jewish people through, it just utterly and totally fills me with such unbelievable distraught to know that HUNDREDS OF MY OWN FAMILY had been tortured then savagely murdered in those hell holes. then these completely innocent people were savagely killed as quickly as possible. After my Grandfather died a number of years before i was born, my parents convinced his wife, my beloved Gramma, to move here to Spokane so she would always have family nearby that could regularly check on her, take her shopping, and even got to the point where my Gramma was raising me, because my folks were much too busy running the GOP party here in Spokane, and going to galas, auctions, dinners followed by speeches. Etc. My Gramma once told me some of what had been done to the Jews by Hitler. My Father had long before, in college, converted to Christianity. Around the time i was about 9 or 10, my Gramma, who never learned to drive, would have my Father take her to a Jewish temple here in Spokane. Like i said around that time, she also insisted she be allowed to to bring me with her. This greatly angered my Father. I remember one time, while they argued, my Gramma said to my Father: "The boy NEEDS to know WHO he is, who his ancestors WERE, and the unbelievably horrific things HITLER DID TO THE JEWS. The boy needs to know. The boy has the RIGHT to know!" That made my Father suddenly stop arguing, and talking altogether. I was in the back seat, but I'm almost certain I saw my Father cry. So, after that, he never again refused to take me to the Temple Beth Shalom here in Spokane. I'm sure many of you have heard the saying, in regards to Mussolini, the dictator of Italy, under the Fascist flag, who basically was Hitler's idiotic younger brother, had a saying in regards to him. It often along like "At least he made sure the trains ran on time". In otherwords, like Hitler, Mussolini ran a tight ship and terrorized thousands and thousands of Italian citizen, and killing the Jewish ones, which he mainly did to ensure Hitler knew Mussolini would fully and completely devote himself, and his country to help fight the Allies. So, as it was in Italy, in all Nazi territories ran factories and mines, forges, and so forth, because as with ALL parts of the Nazi regime, there were quotas, requirements, goals, and orders handed down from the very top that had to be accomplished, because if the Nazi leadership ordered a certain factory to produce, lets say, 150,000 rounds for, lets say, the MP40, and it was expected to be fully finished in a specified amount of time. If, lets say, that factory, who already had 3 work shifts a day, so the place, the size of 5 - 6 football fields, well if that factory was only able to build 149,500 rounds instead of 150,000, there was a very, VERY cerain understanding about the consequences of failing the order. When the local Sturmbanfuhrer came to inspect what he believed would be 150k rounds but was told on site they had only been able to produce 149,500, there was a VERY strong possibility that the owner of the factory, along with all the various managers of each section, could easily be dragged out onto the street, & executed immediately. Yes. The Nazis were so demented, that just producing 500 fewer rounds during a certain period of time, well that was just completely unacceptable to the Nazi leadership. Do your job correctly, accurately, professionally, and as quickly and safely as possible. If you just couldn't fill the full order, there was a very real chance you would be immediately killed on the spot. It didnt matter WHY the order was 500 rounds short. Maybe a machine jammed. Maybe another machine unexpectedly froze up & broke, or because of the non-stop day & night 24/7 massive bomber runs of American and British planes had blown up a nearby power substation, and so your factory had no power for 12 - 18 hours, no matter what it actually was caused by, just being unable to assemble that 1 last production run on time, there wasn't an excuse known to man that could satisfy the higher ups or prevent your execution. Sometimes, if some kind of secret uprising in that factory was believed to be happening that was creating all the various assembly line stations trouble, the local Nazi leader would take a hundred or so men, often all or mostly SS, they would round up EVERYONE at thst factory, and also go round up the workers who at the time were asleep, they, and their families would also be rounded up, and lined up, and executed. Yes, the Nazis, who demanded that factory produce 150k round in a certain period of time but the factory just couldnt get done, EVERY SINGLE GERMAN CITIZEN, INCLUDING THEIR WIVES AND CHILDREN, were executed. The Nazi high command who had ordered that factory to produce rounds nonstop 24/7, just executed THE VERY PEOPLE WHO WORKED FOR AND RAN THAT FACTORY. So now, NO rounds could be produced, as there wasn't anyone left to operate the factory. Yes, the Nazis actually were that stupid.

"Ivan the Terrible" - The Most Sadistic Nazi Guard at Treblinka Death Camp - Ivan Marchenko
Ivan the Terrible (born 1911) is the nickname given to a notorious guard Ivan Marchenko at the Treblinka extermination camp during the Holocaust.
    Background
The name Ivan was not an uncommon name in the camp. Ivan is a common Ukrainian given name. An example would be Ivan Klatt, or a Volksdeutscher who served in the Sobibor extermination camp, as the Ukrainian guard leader.
The German and Austrian SS command, local Poles, and Jewish inmates often referred to guards as Ukrainians not only because of their ethnicity, or because they originated from Ukraine, but because they spoke Ukrainian between themselves.

The cadence of the narration is incredibly jarring. Must be AI.

It's still amazing what amount of war crimes against humanity was done by Germany and that they didn't found guilty for Genocide.
They need to be thankful that they even survived WW2 with small number of revenge against them.

Always remember and hold close to your heart that this 'Place' was far far far worse than anything any sane Human can possibly imagine, or read about.

I had to stop watching the video shortly after 9 minutes in. This is truly horrific and my heart aches for the victims. Whatever happened to this man at the end of his life, it was too good for him

I could never wrap my head around of the idea on why Hitler and the rest involved thought it was right to do such things towards other human beings.

Because of a deranged and degraded culture. Ukraine actually haven’t changed that much from those times and now they are mostly the same as they was during WW2. Always have Ukrainians considered Russians as lesser, less developed beings. They bombed their own russian speaking population for years and they named one of their WW2 nazi commanders as their biggest national hero. This happened in 2010 , not that long ago.
I wonder how after this people actually still have nerve to say that ukrainians are not nazis

It's difficult to imagine how such a level of unprovoked hate could manifest in such a level of evil.
