The Frey Life my favorite animal is....uuhhh.....the....dolphin. I think. Believe it or not I never really thought about. But I was watching Bones the other day so dolphins are prominate on my mink. Haha.
I had/have a very different disease from yours, but I was born with a muscle wrapped around my aorta in my heart and a hole in my valve. One was fixed @ 8 years old but I still have heart defects. When you were talking about doing sports and getting pulled out. That was similar to my up bringing. I did dance, and soccer and routinely had to stop at times. But it was my normal and I learned real quick that it was not my fault, I was not letting anyone down, and I could re start ... Great life lessons from an unexpected physical challenge. That is why I am grateful for the body I do have, even if it is slightly "broken". It has taught me so much.
I ESPECIALLY liked the “One Day, One Hour, One Moment”... that’s how I do My Chronic OverComing. Keep moving forward even if it’s TINY INCREMENTS of time & movement.:)
I look forward to your videos everyday. I've learned so much about cystic fibrosis that I never knew. I've only read about it and now seeing someone that deals with it on a day-to-day basis I have to give you a big thumbs up. I absolutely think you are the sweetest kindest most loving couple I watch on TH-cam. God bless you both and may your health continue to stay stable. And Oliver has to be the sweetest dog ever. God bless you too Ollie Boy
Very interesting, Mary. It's always enlightening to know how a chronic disease like CF affects the individual. We had a young lady in our church who had CF but that was before they had all the therapies and treatments they do today. She passed in her twenties. She had a little boy that her mother raised and I believe is an adult by now.
I love that - I always say one day, one hour, one minute at a time...it is all we can do. I am also going through an MRI of my head for sinus issues and I may need surgery. I thought of you as I got my next steps/orders from my ENT doctor. They found a mass in my sinus cavity and need the MRI to determine what it is and how to move forward. It is another issues on top of other illnesses - so - I feel the frustration with headaches, pain, etc. Your outlook is really inspiring.
I just watched your vlog about your medical bracelets. I’m ordering a new one soon. Love the channel. I live with Spina Bifida which is also a lifelong condition. I love how you two keep living even with a chronic condition.
Arches watercolour paper is supposed to be the BEST (from the research I’ve done)! I haven’t tried it, as it’s real expensive to buy here in Australia-but I just wanted to tell u Mary, that u have inspired me to give watercolour a go!!!Thankyou SO much!!!
Oh my goodness!! You’re Patch The Pirate fans!! Same here!! I love Ron Hamilton! That song “lazy bones” is from the Patch adventure Mount Zion Marathon! I actually met Ron/Patch back in March of this year. So happy to find a fellow Patch fan!! Woot woot! Stoked!! You guys are awesome!
One of my late friends had CF and his younger brother didn’t and I think for their family it was a bigger impact on his younger brother as in he was usually put second to his brother but my friend also wasn’t able to attend school
I'm a fairly new subscriber and gradually making my way back through your videos. Normally I wouldn't comment buuuuuut your answer to the last question really hit home. I suffer from a form of inflammatory arthritis called axial spondyloarthritis and I'm nearing the end of my PhD. Unfortunately my mental and physical health took a turn for the worse and I had to make the decision to suspend for a little bit to rest, recover and recuperate. I think sometimes the next step isn't always the step we want or had imagined. It has to be the step that we NEED, and for me that was taking time out. Physically this is giving me a chance to rest, for my medications to kick in again and for my sleep to be examined and maybe improved. Mental health wise the break is helping but it's also giving me a chance to put into practise what you've said about focusing on the next step, the next minute, hour, day, or whatever I can mentally handle at that time. Anxiety has been building and taking over. Now I have the time and space and energy to start managing it and putting into place good habits so that's what I'm doing 💪
LOVE the “current day” vlog BTW!!! AWESOME!!! But I love the Monday Live stream too (it just bums me I can’t be live with you as it’s around 4.30-6am when you do it here in Australia)
“One day at a time” has kind of also been my motto for hard days. Now I’m not chronically ill, but I do suffer with some mental health problems and when I have bad days I use to always remember myself that time always passes in the exact same speed. Even if some hours feel like years, they’re not. Everything hard and difficult is always just temporary. I actually got that “it’s all temporary” as a tattoo a couple of years ago to always remind me of it. And it works for the good days too. It’s all just temporary, so enjoy everything in all its details!
Triful sponge cake bottom, Jelly, (jello) Custard, thick cream then colored sprinkles or fruit. Most kids like the Sprinkles, give it a go so easy to make.
Thanks for sharing! I have wondered about your childhood as well as a mom of a little girl with a chronic illness! We both have T1D and it is a bit of a comfort knowing that the fact that I have it as well may make it a bit easier for her.
The end of this video is really inspiring as that is where I am too with things going on in my life. Normally I feel “stuck” but you’ve inspired me to just keep doing me even in those moments.
Dear Mary, from hearing the answers to the questions the people asked on instagram it was very interesting to me that you think that your childhood was good, not impacted by CF. Your parents must have made a tremendous job with two kids with CF letting them go and do what they want to do, xcept taking them aside when they noticed that breathing wasn't ok and so on. So you and your sister must have had a great home and parents throughout the years. I am a mother of two kids, too, but I don't think that I could have been as "cool" as your parents were, when you were little! Tell them I love them for their attitude!!!! Thanks for sharing such intimate thoughts and feelings. It make me stronger and look deeper into my feelings when I am down or depressed, which I am lately. Thanks also for your daily vlogs, Peter and Mary, I know it must be extremely hard to edit and cut and upload all the time! Greetings from Germany sincerely Britta
My mom is hypoglycaemic and my dad is diabetic type 2 diet controlled. I am diabetic type 2 and after many years fighting with it I'm finally diet controlled. I was also born with spina bifida & hydrocephalus. Now as I've gotten older I also have arthritis after over 50 surgeries, gastroparesis, depression, anxiety, chronic pain that will only get worse as I age due to my age and I'm also self catheterizing every 3 hours daily my entire life due to incontinence and I get chronic UTIs. Thank god so far my kidneys are doing well, most people my age with sb are on dialysis by now so I am blessed.
I have loved watching you guys ever since I found your channel. And she's right, sometimes all you can do is take it moment by moment. Many blessings to you guys from Alaska!
Great choice Mary for your painting supplies....I am a watercolor artist and that is what I have always used. I love the watercolor blocks of paper and you just can’t get any better than Windsor and Newton paint. You should do some videos of you actually doing a painting. I love to watch other people paint and see their technique.
Seeing how you get through your rough days helps me get through mine 4 years ago I had acute pancreatitis which has now turned into chronic pancreatitis and some days the pain is so bad I feel I can't cope with it.
Your sunrise or sunset answer made me laugh! I'm the COMPLETE opposite! I wake up so early in the morning (way before the sun) so very rarely am I awake late enough to see the sunset! 😂 Although in Winter seeing a sunset is easier as it's dark by 6pm.
My 3 year old son has cf and we do everything a 'normal' child would. He goes to nursery in the morning during school days. We go soft play areas, he has swimming class, and a toddler dance/ imagination class 'heartbeeps'. He is doing great no admission since he was 6 months old and has he 3 and last surgery xx
I love hearing from chronic illnesses warriors how their family didn't let their illness slow them down while they were growing up. I think it helps inspire new parents to not coddle their children, but let them spread their wings and let God take them where they need to be in life. Also, my favorite animal isn't just 1 animal, it's several- big, wild, cats.. like cheetahs, Jaguars, cougars. Hearing that Peter liked zebras made me giggle since the zebra is the mascot for Ehlers-danlos Syndrome 🦓
Yay Peter zebras are what we call ourselves who have Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. My daughter who also have it (as my son) just tattooed a zebra on her arm. The zebra is a metaphor for our rare disease and the fact that every time a doctor hears hoof beats he automatically thinks horse! BUT it might be a zebra too !
I feel you Mary on taking things one day, monent, step at a time. I’ve delt with chronic, painful, canker sore on my tongue and they are awful! I finally had enough and asked my doctor for a referral. Still trying to find answers.
Bunnies... You were a beautiful little girl that is still just as beautiful!!! Can you show us some baby pictures of yourself and Peter? It would be very interesting to hear how your school years were with cf...
I have so many strange knick names for my 4 dogs. I think my Jack Russell has the funniest though. His name is Rapid but his knick name when we got him was Rapidy. And then is was Rapidy-doo. And now it's just Doo-Doo.
While taking one day, one hour at a time...you forgot to add PRAYER! Nothing is going to help a person more than giving it to God and let him take the lead!
Have you ever done q&a with Mary's parents? It would be really interesting to hear from them and the point of view. Maybe hearing the fun and the struggles could be relatable? How they encouraged you and your sister to be such positive people. How they kept your childhood 'normal' ? How they felt when you were dx? The hardest parts of bwing a parent with sick kids. I myself have wondered if your parents knew you would have c.f.? Or what the odds were? Was your sister (rachel is her name right?) already dx? I've actually wanted to ask that for some time, but its a bit of an awkward question . I hope it doesn't sound negative in ANY way, because I do not mean for it too. Nor would any answer be better or whatever [disclaimer of that over lol [. Love watching your channel. I've spent some serious binge days from my own hosp bed. And sent a few nurses who get hooked when it is playing on the room. Hahah.
I love bears, all bears 🐻. I do love all animals and will go looking for dolphins and whales at the beach. I enjoy seeing them in the wild. I have always been thrilled when I see an animal in its natural habitat. On our farm we had wombats, kangaroos, echidnas, goannas, snakes, cockatoos, and we had our own chickens and alpacas.
I thought Ollie-aka Bonesy’s name was because of his colour (I think he is a bone kinda colour)!! Either that or because he loves “big bones” (I think u call them)!!! Now I know the real reason he is Bonesy! U learn something new everyday!! Being from Australia, I’m not familiar with the song you guys were talking about tho
Hi!! How was your dentist appointment? I hope it went well 😀 I'm just wondering what happened if Marry needs to cough while having some procedure done?? 🤔
Please answer this !! hey mary hey peter i am Sarah-Rose Reed i'm nervous and exited for my dexcom g6 1. i'm nervous cause people will ask about it and why i need it how should i respond 2. i'm exited cause it will check my numbers for me and no more finger pokes and i've been doing finger pokes when i was a little girl
Thanks for your questions! I learned something I never knew about peter today :) what about YOU? What is Your favorite animal?
The Frey Life my favorite animal is....uuhhh.....the....dolphin.
I think. Believe it or not I never really thought about. But I was watching Bones the other day so dolphins are prominate on my mink. Haha.
Cows, crabs and cats!!
The Frey Life I love cows😊 because I grew up around them and a calf is so adorable!
The Frey Life A little late on the question 🚂 But Mary what's your maiden name? Good Q&A today 😉
My favorite animal is definitely cats😸😻🐱😺🐈
I think it's absolutely amazing how much Peter knows about Mary's body. I love it. ❤
Can Mary do a paint with me video like she did with the window painting? I really loved watching it, and I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one😁
I had/have a very different disease from yours, but I was born with a muscle wrapped around my aorta in my heart and a hole in my valve. One was fixed @ 8 years old but I still have heart defects. Mary’s shock over the zebras was beautiful. I love you both
Crystalthewolf1000 ya learn something new everyday:)
Please paint a Zebra for us to buy! (in honor of Peter's favorite animal and the EDS community that supports you guys!)
I ESPECIALLY liked the “One Day, One Hour, One Moment”... that’s how I do My Chronic OverComing. Keep moving forward even if it’s TINY INCREMENTS of time & movement.:)
Your parents did a good job raising you and your sister without overprotecting you and or instilling fear in you guys.
I look forward to your videos everyday. I've learned so much about cystic fibrosis that I never knew. I love Triffles. I made a nectrine cobbler today. It was so good.
I love hearing from chronic illnesses warriors how their family didn't let their illness slow them down while they were growing up.
Zebras are also the animal for mitochondrial disease, (which I have)
I feel you Mary on taking things one day, monent, step at a time. I’ve delt with chronic, painful, canker sore on my tongue and they are awful! I finally had enough and asked my doctor for a referral. Still trying to find answers.
Hi Mary and Peter, My favorite animal is a dog. I enjoyed the Q&A.
uck I had an incredibly horrible day. Thanks for doing what you do. Thanks for reminding me life isn't all bad.
I’ve nicknamed CF diabetes, type 1.5.
I loved this Q&A! I live by the one day at a time, one hour at a time too. According to God, we can only live one day at a time anyway.
Bunnies... You were a beautiful little girl that is still just as beautiful!!! Can you show us some baby pictures of yourself and Peter?
It would be very interesting to hear how your school years were with cf...
Holy cow a real time Monday blog is awesome! Do you think my next tattoo should be THE FREY LIFE lolol i am thinking about it lol
Zebras were my childhood fave too, lol. And koala bears
I have so many strange knick names for my 4 dogs. I think my Jack Russell has the funniest though. His name is Rapid but his knick name when we got him was Rapidy. And then is was Rapidy-doo. And now it's just Doo-Doo.
Yea! Zebras, lol that's my disease awareness ribbon (Ehlers-danlos syndrome)
While taking one day, one hour at a time...you forgot to add PRAYER! Nothing is going to help a person more than giving it to God and let him take the lead!
"Sunrise or Sunset? Sunset!! Who wants to get up that early??" 🤔 🤔
LOL... oh my goodness that was hilarious!! 😂 🤣 😂 🤣

Love watching your channel. I've spent some serious binge days from my own hosp bed. And sent a few nurses who get hooked when it is playing on the room. Hahah.
I had a intramural sand volleyball team in college called “The Beached Whales”
I love bears, all bears 🐻. I do love all animals and will go looking for dolphins and whales at the beach. I enjoy seeing them in the wild. I have always been thrilled when I see an animal in its natural habitat. On our farm we had wombats, kangaroos, echidnas, goannas, snakes, cockatoos, and we had our own chickens and alpacas.
Love you guys so much. Your the cutest couple ever
Great Q&A.
