How to change a front CV Axle 1997 - 2002 Subaru (most models) Forester. Subscribe if you like the video! Here is the torque for bolts you will be dealing with during the repair process. You will need a big torque wrench to get up the the correct torque. I've been doing this for a while and I've never seen anything bad happen from improper torque. but its good to use the tool for the first few you do just to get a feel for hard you should be pushing.
Wheel nuts:
80 ft./lb.
Front axle nut:
137 ft-lbs (186Nm)
Strut bolts:
TOP - 120 ft./lb. Bottom - 148 ft./lb.
Steering knuckle to balljoint pinch bolt:
37 ft-lbs (50 Nm)
