    as an upstater, I'm hoping the mac gives albany a call, they'd make great travel partners for buffalo and umass

      Albany would also help the MAC's academic profile.

    This is a good move for UMass. I thought they needed to return to the FCS rather than remain independent, but this is quite the upgrade. I hope we can bring something to the MAC, as our best sport is hockey, where we will remain Hockey East. Basketball is getting better under the new coach and we should make one of the tournaments. I hope the MAC pressures UMass to field a women's volleyball team. You can hit the home of volleyball in Hadley with a rock from UMass, yet we are one of the few D1 teams without this growing sport

    I didn't think that the MAC would be better for UMass financially. A football-only invite from either Conference USA or The American wasn't coming, so I understand the decision to go all in with getting in on the MACtion. I'm interested in seeing how men's hoops will do henceforth.

    why not go for Rhode Island? Also an A10 member, plays football in the respectable CAA, travel partner and rival for UMASS, and with UMASS's departure they will be 1 of 3 public schools in a league with 11 private colleges so maybe they should look to move to the FBS

    We need a "Future of Oregon State and Washington State" video laying out all of the possibilities for their future. Do they form a G5 super conference was the best schools from MWC and AAC? Do they do a reverse merger with just the MWC? Do they convince Gonzaga to join them in a new Pac-12? So many potential outcomes. Would love to hear your thoughts on the future of the Pac-12

    Dark Horse candidate for the MAC-14, St. Louis University. The Administration is looking at the MLS St. Louis City SC & XFL St. Louis Battlehawks ticket sales and may be looking to jump start a program.

    Another great video @d1_360.
    My only question is this. After Liberty earning the NY6 spot, has CUSA passed the MAC? And if so then why should W. Kentucky consider moving to the MAC. Outside of the MAC being more stable due to no one really wanting their programs, is there a reason to move? Maybe you could convince Delaware due to them possibly wanting to be in the same league as Buffalo & UMass.

    Great job, as usual! So you don't expect the MAC to go after the Dakotas. I guess that they're a state too far The MVC does has some quality FCS schools. WKU would be a warmer place for MACtion.

    • @nashmonti120
      @nashmonti120 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I don’t think the WKU/MTSU pairing is anything better than schools in the patriot league or Delaware. Fleshing out a northeast branch seems logical since they already have Buffalo/UMass.

    • @nashmonti120
      @nashmonti120 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I think schools like Lehigh, Lafayette, holy cross, and Colgate wouldn’t be bad either.
      If they could convince Delaware to go MAC instead of C-USA that would be huge too

    • @reverend_wintondupree
      @reverend_wintondupree 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@nashmonti120Wouldn't be bad as profiles for football only but the MAC is made up of entirely public schools with 20k + enrollment. Patriot league is all private (minus Army/Navy). And the MAC has expressed full membership as part of their recruitment.

    • @nashmonti120
      @nashmonti120 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@reverend_wintondupree so if a private school wanted to be a full member and the MAC had interest it wouldn't happen? These moves are made for money, and if a school from the Patriot league generates a lot of it than I would bet my bottom dollar they are on the MAC radar right now.

  • @gregorybiestek3431
    @gregorybiestek3431 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I came across your video and it inspired me to do a little research. based on what I could find what would be the possibility that the MAC goes after Western Kentucky and Rhode Island as full members with either Delaware as a full member or U Conn as a football only associate member? This would give the MAC 16 teams, it could split into East & West divisions with 7 division games & 4 from the other division each year in football. Depending on if they get Delaware or U Conn the basketball schedule could be 14 games in division and 8 games against the other division. Travel would be more reasonable and costs should be more appropriate. What does anyone else think?

    Being in a multi-bid hoops league does no good if you're not one of the bids. They'll have an easier path to the NCAA competing for the MACC (assuming the program doesn't drop off too much).

    • @ohwaitchristian
      @ohwaitchristian 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      precisely. this video really showed how UMass wasn't making anything watching other A-10 teams get tournament bids, yet I've still seen fans of A-10 schools bashing the move because their conference has "prestige" or has a higher NET rating, as if any of that matters to UMass who hasn't even been to the tourney in 10 years lol

    Feel like CUSA is impacted by this as well. Would not be surprised if this happens:
    Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee to MAC.
    Delaware, Louisiana Tech, FIU, UTEP, and New Mexico State to American.
    Liberty, Sam Houston State, Jacksonville State, and Kennesaw State to Sun Belt.

    • @marcus813
      @marcus813 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Don't count on the (sub)urban-oriented American taking Louisiana Tech. The Bulldogs/Lady Techsters would be a better fit in the Sun Belt.

      No way on earth MTSU would go to the MAC. If was iffy before and now the conditions are way, way better for CUSA than then. They recruit in the south.

    UMASS in Football is what Chicago State is in Basketball. Schools that made Ill advised moves to divisions they weren’t ready for. UMASS is a dumpster fire in football and it literally is on its last legs if I had to guess. They’d be better off doing what Idaho did and dropping down but you know they’d probably drop the Football team before doing that. They’re better at Hockey and they probably always will be sadly.

    With this move, will you be making a video on potential 14th, 15th and 16th members for the MAC?
    I think Delaware plus some schools from the patriot league like holy cross would be good move, really flesh out the NE wing of the conference and get some more tvs/potential rivalries involved.

    • @reverend_wintondupree
      @reverend_wintondupree 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      CAA public leftovers yes, but Patriot league not so much especially if required to join as full members.

    • @brodyh2895
      @brodyh2895 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I think Delaware would rather be in a conference with schools it shares history with like JMU, Temple, and Navy. Delaware wouldn’t gain much from playing a school from the Patriot league. I see Delaware to the Sun Belt or American in a few years (pending their athletic success in CUSA obviously)

    • @nashmonti120
      @nashmonti120 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@brodyh2895 I think the SBC and AAC are more than content with the schools they poached from the C-USA, if the athletic success of liberty isn't enough for either of those than I doubt Deleware will be invited.
      From a revenue and future stand point I think it would be better for Deleware to join the MAC and help them expand eastward, really solidify them at the G5 level.
